Dear Mark. I think you’re great. I’m new to the UK from South Africa. I’ve never used a boiler or central heating in my life. I’m a single mum with a child at school. I was out of my depth coming here and trying to figure out how everything works. You have helped me figure it all out as you are clear and concise and know how to speak to people like me who don’t have a scooby. Thank you!!!
This is a much needed video. Just had a new boiler installed with this programmer and the plumber as nice as he was was in a bit of hurry to go and couldn't spend too much time at the end of his day showing me how it all worked. Thank you sir, it's people like you who make this world a better place!
Thiis video is miles ahead of the very very basic guide included in the box. One day after having the Honeywell stat fitted to rerplace the Worcester stat the boiled started up but the programming to switch it off at circa 1030 pm didn't. work and the boiled worked thru the night. It took me a lot of time trying to follow the Honeywell leaflet guidance but is is almost useless. Mark set me on track and I am almost up to speed. very grateful it helping me the this very cold snap which the Honeywell guide leaflet abandoned me to. Thanks Mark.
Hi Mark. You are a lifesaver. I am looking after an elderly neighbour who had a new boiler installed a few months ago and we have been struggling a bit with the thermostat. First it unpaired itself and your excellent video helped us get that sorted. Today we have managed to programme it properly so that the temperature is right for her, the installer never explained it and as you point out the user guide is useless. We have it all sorted now so thank you very much.
This video is actually brilliant. Before I watched this video I didn't know that 1. my thermostat needed batteries, 2. that my thermostat was remote and 3. the actual thermostat could actually be removed and used anywhere in my flat, and I didn't have a clue how to program it either.
What a fantastic video. I had a new boiler and central heating system fitted and this was installed on my wall. Did not even know it was portable, and the user guide tells us nothing. Thank God for people like you Mark. Now I can have heat at last. Took me 2 hours and I still did not know how to get the radiators to even come on. THANK YOU - you are a Godsend. I am warming up at last :)
Very intuitive video for a very unintuitive timer/stat. My elderly parents are unable to program it as its so different to their previous one which was simple to set with an ON time and an OFF time for each day. Thanks for doing this video, it really helped me to set it up for them. But they absolutely hate the Honeywell unit.
Mark, all I can say you are a great help to me and I would imagine to thousands of others who definitely would not be able to use this programer without your help. The instruction manual in the box needs to be put in the bin. Setting this programer is not an easy task and I pity those who are not capable of doing it even after watching your excellent instructional video. Well done.
Many thanks for this video, Mark. I’ve just had my programmable thermostat upgraded to the T3R. What I found helpful, in switching from the old-fashioned on-off programmer, was to think of P1, P2, P3, and P4 as points on a graph of temperature against time, with the odd numbered periods having a maximum temperature (above which the boiler will cut out), and the even ones having a minimum temperature (below which the boiler will cut in). Once you stop thinking of it as a glorified on-off switch, it makes more sense.
Thank you very much for taking the time to comprehensively demonstrate the Honeywell T3 programmer. We think it was the must informative video we've ever seen, you are obviously very knowledgeable about your subject and an amazing teacher, thank you again 👍😊
Absolutely brilliant video, a godsend! I moved into a new house today with this thermostat, no idea how to use it and manufacturer website no help with suitable user guides. It’s January and I have a toddler, so keeping him warm is most important. This covers absolutely everything in plain English, no technical jargon, easy to follow. Given me peace of mind and you can’t ask for more than that. Thank you very much!
Thank you for explaining clearly and slowly, I think I now know how to use this, its not easy with all the technology at my time of life but your video was excellent and easy to follow. Thank you
Thank you so much. Really useful and clear. My gas engineer fitted this model yesterday and got the day and evening settings mixed up. So I looked on you tube for guidance on how to reset it. Dont bother with the qr scan . Thisis far superior.
A fantastic video and so easy to follow. Thank you so much Mark. We had a new boiler installed three days ago and the engineer briefly explained some of the functions of the T3R room thermostat. You've explained in detail all the functions we need to use it effectively. I am so happy to have come across your video. I will be studying it in detail so that I know exactly how to use my room thermostat programmer. Thank you again Mark
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to do this. The manual was far too tiny (and frankly incomprehensible) and the Honeywell website is useless as it just says 'refer to manual'. Honeywell should pay you for this. Thank you.
Hi Mark - just wanted to say I found your video very helpful. As you say, the content of user manual for this product is a bit limited, so you have plugged a real gap. Also, you have managed to describe the whole set up process in a simple and easy to understand way, again unlike the complicated approach taken by the manual. You have really helped and I am very grateful. Best wishes.
First video I watched confused me a bit as the guy had the settings 1-7 day and mine was preset to MO-FR and SA-SU , so I couldn’t see the copy option etc.. I am so happy I found your video which explains everything so nicely! Also when I fiddled with this trying to set the programs then the temperature showed 27’ and I was like this can’t be right I feel cold in this room! Thought it already broke 😄 so I put it to manual and raised the temperature up, but then noticed the display temperature dropped down and I thought now how is this possible then if few minutes ago it supposedly was warmer , now i know that when you hold it it gets warmer and confuses the thermostat 😅 anyways once again thank you for the instructions!!
Thankyou very much for this video. Plumbers dont slways have the time to go through every detail after spending all day installing a new boiler. This helped me no end!
Thank you so very much mark, your explanation of how to programme the T3R is fantastic, so clear and able to understand… you’re a god send.. thank you so much.
Many thanks. Just got the T3R installed and am delighted to discover, via your video, that I can programme it because for the first time the thermostat has numbers big enough and well-lit enough for me to see.
Invaluable, thank you. Read the instructions, which left more questions than answers, I now feel confident handling all aspects of the timer. Really clear how to guide, thank you
Thank you so much. I was so confused about how to set the four time periods as my plumber told me it was something different (he didn't have a clue). Thanks so much for enlightening me, and also explaining the override settings
Thank you so much for this! I hate reading manuals and so haven’t looked in it to set the auto since I had it installed. Quick and simple and easy to follow!
Very useful. The instructions that come with it are as much use as a chocolate teapot! I've kept this video to remind me how to put the heating back on again in the winter.
Bought this for my dad, just so he could move the thermostat to whatever room he's in (he doesn't care for the programming and such), but it behaves quite erratically. It's incredibly slow when the temperature drops. Picking it up shoots the temp up by 2-3 degrees almost instantly, but it takes it almost 20 minutes to get back to the room temp. It's also for some reason firing up the boiler for very short times. Sometimes the unit shows the little flame indicating the boiler is up, but the wireless module does not turn the boiler on, or it does, but for like a minute then it turns off but the thermostat is still showing the flame... I don't know if i got a faulty unit but so far it's not performing exactly as it should. It is paired correctly, no error's on this side and it doesn't seem to be disconnecting, i am at loss.
Really helpful videos Mark, thank you. It'd be great if you explained the parameters of cycle rate, min/max on time and 'optimum start' (not explained by Honeywell, and the QR codes they provide for support just lead to what's probably an out of date site and an error message).
Thank you so much Mark for this video really informative and useful video. It has helped to understand a great deal more than the Quick guide did. Also my installer went through it very quickly and this explains far more. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for this Mark. I either wasn’t given a manual or can’t find it! Can’t find free one on internet. The one thing I used to be able to do on a previous CH system was keep it off but just override for an hour (maybe more). As I rarely use the system that was incredibly useful. 15:26 never used a pre-programmed schedule. But installer said not possible with this so just checking. Last night I switched it on to Manual because had visitors - and realised this morning I hadn’t switched it off. Aaargh! Checked meter. Cost me a fortune! Hoping you may be able to help. Thank you again for this guide. 🙏🙏
thanks very much for this great little film I have come from commercial controllers and and have had to learn how this domestic unit works and this has been very helpful
Fantastic - absolutely brilliant. I wasn’t able to grasp all of it but there is everything I need. My thermostat is a “Centre” but appears to be the same unit under a different name. The other videos I’ve watched are no where near as good as this but the comments about the thermostat itself and the instructions that come with it can be summed up in one word “appalling “.
Thank you this is a Brilliant video🙏... I didn't get the instructions so very confused about how to set up! All clear..except I've now decided I want to use on manual only... I can't seem to get rid of the first period on auto 🤔 Would be great if you could guide me on how best to do this, if it's possible🤔🙏
I had to watch your video again to change the clock ⏰ for spring time which just changed tonight ! I thought this would change automatically like on a mobile phones but mine hasn’t, although I’m not sure if the day was set correctly as it showed 6 instead of 27 (today’s) so I also corrected it. 😀
Thank you for the brilliant video. And for your other videos which helped me decide to upgrade my old thermostat which had a dodgy screen. 2 questions: 1. The receiver gets hot when in use - is that normal? 2. If the set up (for electric underfloor heating) is as for basic/on off - does it matter what weight of flex is used for the little L>A loop? You dont cover this set up as far as I can see. Thank you!
The temporary override of the auto mode is for 1h only, that's why it says that +1h on screen. Other thermostats work as stated on the video, until the next programmed change, but not this one
Hi Mark. I have just purchased a T3 thermostat and fitted it following your easy to follow instructions and it works great. I was wondering if you have any views on the Optimisation Mode of the T3, is it good? or don't bother?
I've just had one of these installed with a boiler and I despise it already on account of the programmer. 4 lousy programmes a day is no use to me. I've been using one of those thermostats with mechanical switches with the 96 switches that you set. I'm gonna try my best to get rid of this thermostat and get one of those.
I just had a T3 installed as part of my apartment renovation. I used your very excellent video on binding the devices - something neither my contractor nor architect were able to do! They told me my new thermostat is controllable from my iPhone. Is tihs true? Would you happen to have a video on how to do this?
Hi, great and easy to follow video. However, maybe few gotchas should be pointed out for installation stage. 1) the new receiver is larger and much thicker than old BRD91 receiver. So in my case when it was installed in a side catout of back MDF panel covering pipework, I had to remove that panel and either make catout larger or resite receiver (but I did not have longer 5 core cable to do it). Not great Honywell, electronic components did not grow in size in the last decade. 2) cable access on receiver is from the back only. I had to cut out side entry to run cable neatly. Then I had to create extra retaining post to clamp cable. Again designed by someone who never installed anything in his life. 3) wall mounting plate has differently placed screw holes than wall mounting plate for old Honeywell CM927 thermostat. So again unnecessary installation step due to bad design. 4) let's hope this product display last longer than one on CM927 thermostat, which while easily replaceable is not available as spare part. Great for Honeywell Bank balance, less so for environment.
Hi, your videos are brilliant and have helped me figure out my new combi boiler and how to set up the T3R thermostat. I do have a query about the way the temperature works as unlike my previous Siemens RDJ10RF thermostat it doesn’t say in the manual. I used to have to set the Siemens short of what I wanted as it went past the temperature I set, but I have no idea about this thermostat. Does this thermostat work like the Siemens or does it just go to the set temperature and stop? Please help.
Cheers Mark I so needed this video my negative on this time controls T3 is it only allows 4 programs on my older one had 8 so I could turn on heating 4 times a day and then off 4 times on this new one t3 I can only turn on twice and off twice in Auto what do you think I used to have my old one come on at 7am off at 830am come on at 4pm off at 6pm on. At 10pm off at 11.59pm can’t do that with this newest model
So the live mains is from boiler fuse spur ond 3 core to boiler one 3 core to reciver. A seperate 3 core from boiler to reciver to have your switch lives
Thank you Mark for your excellent video. My only query is that there seems to be no mains power to the boiler which I have on the Drayton digistat one that I am replacing.
Great video! 16 C temperature during the night (P4) in auto mode? This mode is useless. T3R indicates temperature incorrectly. I placed an electronic thermometer next to the T3R. The thermometer indicates 22.9 C, and the T3R indicates 24 C. How is that possible?
Dear Mark. I think you’re great. I’m new to the UK from South Africa. I’ve never used a boiler or central heating in my life. I’m a single mum with a child at school. Just purchased T3R but 4 presets £82 but was offered T3R with 6 presets £125 October 2023, all these videos are very good Regards Ian

lifesaver, you need an award from the king for helping the public so much
Thank you, Mr Ballard, for your excellent explanations. Very straightforward and with great clarity. I am a fan!
Thanks for showing me the easy way to program this stat! The instructions supplied with the unit are useless. You’re a lifesaver!!!
Thank you for explaining clearly and slowly, I think I now know how to use this, its not easy with all the technology at my time of life but your video was excellent and easy to follow. Thank you

Best guide I've seen. My heating times have been all over the place since it was first installed by the plumber last week. Thanks very much!
Like many others, a very helpful video, especially as Honeywell dont provide usable instructions. Thankyou!!
Thank you so much. I was so confused about how to set the four time periods as my plumber told me it was something different (he didn't have a clue). Thanks so much for enlightening me, and also explaining the override settings
Thank you. For the first time I've managed to set the programme successfully.
thank you for this I have shared this with a carer for someone with dementia, they are able to reset/ relock the controls after they unlock them !!
What a great video Mark, really made it possible to program the T3R which was difficult to otherwise set up.
The paperwork that comes with the T3R is about a 6 out of 10. The video was a 9 plus. Great work Mark.
Great video so much easier with Mark explaining things. I don't think the instruction manual is the best!
Thank you Mark, the instructions were rubbish and confusing I totally can use the t3 now
Thank you so much for this easy to understand video. So easy for an oldie to understand. Mark you made it so easy to follow. Many thanks

Thank you so much for explaining my new programmer
Thank you
Thank you very much Mark, you were a lot more helpful than the ignorant so and so who installed our boiler yesterday!
excellent video.very clear , concise instruction, if only manuals were written in this way!
Excellent video, thank you so much for taking the trouble to explain everything so clearly.
Thank you so much for this Mark. I either wasn’t given a manual or can’t find it! Can’t find free one on internet. Thank you again for this guide.
🙏🙏
The Honeywell instructions are really poor, but this video is excellent at explaining everything. 👍
Thanks mate 👍 you are really good at explaining the function of the T3 cheers 🍻
Thank you so much...sorted out a really frustrating problem
Excellent and most useful video. Mark's video, speech and pace are the best quality, thank you very much!
Thank you. Saved me money because didn’t know how to turn timer temperature off /down. 😅
Thank you very much. I was hoping to know before the winter. Now I know.
thanks very much for this great little film I have come from commercial controllers and and have had to learn how this domestic unit works and this has been very helpful
Great video. |An object lesson on how to make a video with clarity.
Excellent demo' covered every aspect of the programme settings on the Thermostat and how to wire the Receiver.
Extremely helpful video. Makes programming the unit understandable.
Fantastic - absolutely brilliant. I wasn’t able to grasp all of it but there is everything I need. My thermostat is a “Centre” but appears to be the same unit under a different name. Thankyou for your help . . . Chris ... Norwich, England
Great video guide, well done. I've just had one fitted and was unsure about overriding the or of. Problem sorted. Many thanks
Thank you this is a Brilliant video🙏... I didn't get the instructions so very confused about how to set up!
All clear..except I've now decided I want to use on manual only... I can't seem to get rid of the first period on auto 🤔
Would be great if you could guide me on how best to do this, if it's possible🤔🙏
Very good straightforward advice and instructions. Thank you.
How to change display to Celsius? Can’t find info anywhere
I had to watch your video again to change the clock ⏰ for spring time which just changed tonight ! I thought this would change automatically like on a mobile phones but mine hasn’t, although I’m not sure if the day was set correctly as it showed 6 instead of 27 (today’s) so I also corrected it. 😀
Thank you very much. Saved me from prising the front off instead of sliding back the cover of the battery unit lol. 👍🏾
Thank you for the brilliant video. And for your other videos which helped me decide to upgrade my old thermostat which had a dodgy screen. 2 questions:

Thanks just moved in and got this system. New sub.
Fantastic! made it really clear 9shame instruction aren't better. Thank you
Great, clear video instructions and coverage of options. Many Thanks !
Explained it so much better than any mansplaining fitter would ever do!
Thank you very much this video helped me lots
Sorry just gone back on video it shows me earlier on in video you explain things well
Quick question, how do I change it so I can have 6 Periods and not 4 periods for Auto Programme feature?
Did you have any luck? Id like to know if it's possible to add a p5 and p6 in auto too.
@@Millsyboy84 no sorry. I think the screen is standard across a couple of models but the one I have doesn't have the p5 and p6 functions. Sorry
Thank you, very informative without confusion 👍
Thank you for your very informative video it really helped me set it up perfectly. Thank You.

Thank you!!!! Great video, super clear! 😃
Excellent video. Thank you
I just had a T3 installed as part of my apartment renovation.

Very informative. Thanks.

So the live mains is from boiler fuse spur ond 3 core to boiler one 3 core to reciver. A seperate 3 core from boiler to reciver to have your switch lives
Great instruction video! Can I install the T3R without wiring switch terminal? The old thermostat just wiring with L,N and Earth
The best video i've ever seen! Thank you for explaining this to me!
Good vid, recently had a new boiler installed which came with this and the instructions are in bad English and badly layed out
Great video, thanks
