Thanks, Mike, and I hope you are doing well. The layout ran well, with a few minor issues that were easy to correct. Today,, it's -32 degrees, and school was canceled. So I hope to clerk the railroad and get it ready for an Op Session sometime in February. ~Tony
Hello Sean, I hope you are doing well. Just looking over the NSE Kansas City 2025 Convention information. I'm hoping in the next week to get registered. I look forward to visiting with you. ~Tony
Hi Tony, Thank you for uploading your January Ops session. Looks like the crew had fun and it's ways great to see trains running on your layout. Yes, here in Western Pennsylvania we are in a real deep freeze as well. Woke up this morning and the mercury reads 0 degrees Fahrenheit with a feels like temp of -10 degrees Fahrenheit. We've been spoiled the last few years with the mid winters, but this year it looks like old man winter is back in town. OK Tony stay warm and thanks for posting the ops video. Cheers, Rich S.
Hello Rich! Another cold day here, with the wind chill making it about -32. School was canceled, so it's a bonus railroad day for this teacher. I'm sure I can find some kind of project to work on. ~Tony
Hi Tony and thank you very much for the video of the January operating session. Really enjoyed you giving the before during an after perspective throughout the railroad. Looks like a good time was had by all. Looking forward to your next video! Have a good rest of the weekend and take care Scott
Another cold day here with the air temperature at -13, and when you add in the wind chills, it brings it down to -32. No school today as it was canceled. So, sometime today, I guess I will get a few bonus hours to work on the layout. Love watching your progress on the rebuilding of your layout. Keep up the good work. ~Tony
Good stuff Tony as usual. If you're looking for ideas for content, I wouldn't mind a video with your thoughts on NCE DCC system and how you choose your decoders. (Sound/Mobile only) Thanks and stay warm! 🥶☃🚂
Thanks for watching and for your note. I will keep that in mind about talking about a future video about my NCE System. I have avoided the topic as, on some channels, it turns into a debate about DCC Systems. The last thing I want is a battle as to what DCC system is best. I would rather say I have NCE, and here are my reasons why.....take or leave it for food for thought. ~Tony
Don't envy you guys with that cold continental climate you have. Is there a lot of snow blowing in from Miinesota :-p. Thankfully the wind, what there is of it, is blowing mainly from the south here in the Netherlands but it is still around 0 C here in Rotterdam and very foggy. Couldn't see the other side of the river on the commute back home untill we were halfway across the big bridge. Anyway, what can you tell me about the Louie's caboose? Haven't seen many in N scale.
The M&St.L "Louie" caboose is one that I custom-painted as you are right, there are not many/any done in N Scale. It is not exact, but it does well as a fill-in for now. ~Tony
You need to do a full shake down and pocket check before your crew leaves, Those car cards do not last long in the laundry. When you get the call "My Wife found this in my Pocket..." you will know...
In the 27 years, I have used waybills, I have only had two bundles of waybills go home with a crew member. One was a co-worker so it was very easy to get back. The other was a set that had to be mailed back to me from a guy who lives 90 minutes away. The nail aprons help during a session to keep waybills, train orders, and other information in. ~Tony
Thanks for taking us with you for this session. You really do have a beautiful layout with so many wonderful operating options. And all of that in my favourite scale! I just had to subscribe. I do have a tiny N scale switching layout myself, stop by my YT channel if you want. All the best! Looking forward to your next videos!
Always fun to watch trains running on your railroad, there is always something to do and somewhere to go. Stay warm and safe Tony.
Thank you so much for watching, and glad you enjoyed it! ~Tony
Well done here. Running with TT & TO is a lot for a model railroad I like that a lot.
Thanks! We normally have a dispatcher but did not for this session. ~Tony
Thank you, Tony, for sharing your operating session with us. It's always enjoyable to watch action on your pike! Mike

Hello Scott! I was just glad I had enough operators to move ahead with the session. We all had a great time. Take care, Tony

Several of stations I know from my childhood. I grew up in Cedar Rapids, my grandparents lived on the M&StL.
Great looking layout, Thanks for sharing! Would love to see it in person sometime. I'm also in Iowa and hoping to host operating sessions soon.
Thank you. If you are in Eastern Iowa, a tour of the layout can be arranged sometime. ~Tony
Tony sound's like a good to be moving ice in Grinnell. Nothing worse than windy weather with low temperatures in Eastern Iowa.
Yes, it was a great day to stay inside and work on the railroad. ~Tony
Hey! I see you Dan!!
thanks great layout

That is okay you can always see the layout through my channel. Thank you for watching! ~Tony
Marx guy here, that`s not cold, in N.H. it was 5 degrees.
The -32 was cold enough for us. Finally warming up this weekend. ~Tony
