You missed an important part of the story. When the mother of Angulimala learned that her son needs one more, she decided to sacrifice herself. Buddha saw this and stopped Angulimala from killing her mother.

Christians don't follow Jesus' teachings and have Idolatry(even of pagans) all over their houses, cars.. etc.. and like to force you into their wrong belief (I call it wrong because even themself don't live by it). Islamists do the same, they will just watch even something totally corrupted(from an Islamic point of view) but they'll put over the video song praising Allah, and then it's totally ok to them. Most Buddhists(especially western ones, just impose their beliefs on others, abusing the image of the teachings of the Buddha for their attitude to life. It's a lifestyle for them, they often abuse it for their ego complexes. There are thousands of Hindus who have declared themselves emanations of Shiva, Krishna.. people who claim to be Maitreya, Avalokiteshvara... there are so many of them.. Occultists claim whatever and try to sell it. People who abuse holes in science to declare their beliefs right. I could talk about it indefinitely .. psychopaths, ignorant people, fools. I even believe that there is a big misunderstanding and mistranslations, wrong rewritings, quotes, and a lot of fake stories of Buddha. Because of these things, Buddhism often seems like a purely negative and nihilistic view of reality. And it looks more like some pagan worship full of idolatry. But where humans will exists, this will exists too, all over the world, in every field. And we have to accept it as it is.

Actually the story is a bit different from what I’ve read on another source. Angulimala did tried killing Buddha but Buddha with his Abinna (ability to create miracle phenomenons) made Angulimala incapable of chasing him, even though he’s chasing Buddha as fast as his limit allows him.

As per pali scriptures, the story goes something else...everday, very early in the morning lord Buddha surveys the whole world with his great compassionate and divine eye looking for beings who is ready to be enlightened, that day the Buddha sees Angulima's mother going to meet his son to stop the killing... had Angulima killed his mother then he wouldn't get enlightenment, knowing this the Buddha goes before the mother and shows the path of enlightenment.... the story goes like that

I tot the story goes by the fact that angulimala use to be a student, and he had a teacher. He was a good student but his teacher ask him to kill and bring 1000 fingers. Also when he met the Buddha, his mom was also there as well
You are right. He was not killing for a revenge. Tripitika says Angulimala was a great student and was the teacher's favorite. The other students were jealous of him. So, they planned to tell a lie to his teacher that Angulimala has a wicked plan to take over the teacher's school. The teacher was hesitant at first, but when more students came to tell the same lie, he started to believe it. So, the teacher plotted to get rid of him.
But he didn't want to kill Angulimala by himself, because it would look bad on him. So, he tricked Angulimala to do the worst kind of crime so that he would be arrested and executed by the king. That is, killing 1,000 people to repay the teacher.

He is misleading the story 👍🏻(no hate). His teacher ordered him to kill 1000 people after killing 999 people he was searching for the another man to complete his order. So he thought ro kill his own mother and lord Buddha came to know this while doing meditation. Lord Buddha went to that jungle because killing our own mother is the biggest sin.

In case you are wondering why Lord Buddha, while being all seeing and all knowing, waited until angulimala kills 999 people to make him stop his killing, it is because timing was everything. If he had intervened before, no matter what wisdom words he says, Angulimala will try to cut his finger. The difference of the 1000 th finger was it was meant to be his mother's.
Angulimala was a kind boy who was stuck in a dilemma. In fact angulimala is the name given by people because his finger necklass. His original name is Ahinsaka, meaning innocent. He was so respectful for his teacher that other jealous students told lies about angulimala and the teachers wife to the teacher. Believing the lies, the enraged teacher told angulimala to bring him thousand human fingers out of their dead bodies as payment for the teaching he recieved. At first it was easier to collect a lot of fingers but with time his reputation grew and people avoided the jungles he hunted. So he had 999 fingers and struggled to find one more. The fingers he did collect were rotting so he was desperate. Only then did he resolve to kill his mother. Angulimala never being a killer who enjoyed it even when he killed strangers, doubts regrets and hesitations would have been raging in his mind on his way to kill his mother. So if buddha ever had a chance to convince him, that would be it.
Also, the version of this story I've heard is different. In that version, instead of allowing Angulimala a free hit, Buddha casually walks along the path, making sure Angulimala sees him but still ignoring him. Angulimala of course, chases after Buddha. But he could never catch up to Buddha because Buddha, using his powers, is creating mountains and pits between them. So in order to get to Buddha, Angulimala has to cross those obstacles. The idea behind this is to make Angulimala so physically exhausted in order to chase away all the rage and killing mentality from him so that when Buddha finally does stop and talks, he will be more willing to listen. It is when he is so tired of this game, that he finally shouts Buddha to stop. This version makes a lot of sense to me because Angulimala, despite being good hearted at the core, was well accustomed to cruelty. He has massacred entire villages which, undoubtably included little children. And for all his greatness, Buddha was still a stranger to him. And if you know anything about Devadatta thero, you will know that even though Buddha has an aura that makes people feel so in awe toward him, it is nowhere near enough to prevent some people from trying to kill him. So I see no reason why Angulimala would let go of the 6ft tall stranger escape out of compassion and continue on his way to slaughter his MOTHER. And the idea of Buddha ever advising anyone to kill him is flat out ridiculous. This is a mentor who tells his disciples not to tell a lie even as a harmless joke. So how about attempting to kill a Buddha? He wouldn't give such bad advise even to show someone the right way. Because someone else hearing this story could have misinterpret this and think it is ok to kill someone if they are asking for them to be killed, or that no sin will come to them if they kill someone who is enlightened(this is one of 5 great sins btw) because all his goals are achieved. And also telling Angulimala that he can fullfil his goal of 1000 fingers by killing Buddha would be a lie because a Buddha can not be killed. Would buddha lie?
I do appreciate this channel and any effort to spread Buddhism but it is important to make sure the facts are valid and reasonable. Because one inconsistency is all that will take for someone to brand these as fairy tales that are not practical in real life. Buddha was very tactical in his methods and wise enough not to use same method on everyone.
PS: If you encounter any dangerous people somewhere, please don't approach them and try to enlighten them by telling them to harm you. As mentioned above I doubt Buddha himself did that with Angulimala and at any rate, I don't see it working out well for you.
