The barrier cream sounds like a wonderful solution. Also, liqitex makes a wonderful cad free cadmium yellow and red. In case you were interested in investigating it.
Hi! I am curious about a couple things. Sometimes when we feel our materials are "precious" we tend not to use them. When you use unique or more expensive things like handmade paper, and then cover over it completely, what are your thoughts? Do you mind? Also, do you ever draw something besides figures in your journals?
Hi Michelle…those are great questions! There are tons of times when I have to cover up parts of my spread that I absolutely love (colors, patterns, handmade papers etc)…but I have to sacrifice it for the end image. Sometimes I’ll stall for as long as possible 😮🤣but it has to be done. I tend to work on many pieces/art journals at once so that way, I become less attached to any one piece. As for art materials being too precious to use…I think very early on, I did feel that way at times(especially with fear of the white page…what if I mess up? Waste my art supplies etc)…but now I look at it as a privilege that I am able to use good stuff and it’s all in service of the finished work. Hope this helps?
I love the use of all the mediums you use. I enjoyed seeing how you added the different hair to the figures. Thanks for mentioning about the toxicity of art supplies. I need to pull out my barrier cream and use it. I hate using gloves.

I ordered the barrier cream so I’ll try that out and see how it goes. Thanks for letting me know about the car free paint 🙏🏽
*cad free*
@ yes it’s cadmium free and the colors are very brilliant just like the cadmium version only company I’ve seen to make a good cadmium free dupe

PS I do occasionally paint other stuff (I love doing still life’s) but for the most part…I seem to be obsessed with figures 😅
