Very clear and detailed. Smart man; wants people to understand all the knowledge he has to offer. Nice work friend.
I like how this guy goes step by step
You da man bro my TL was doing the exact same thing, i appreciate you putting these videos out. Im gonna be changing the solenoid on it soon
Ive been ignoring this issue for over 3 years and just not letting the vtec kick in over a stupid ass filter. Thanks for uploading. You have saved my car many times
My car was down for 3 weeks cause I didn’t know what was going on with it but I got a scanner an I got the code an it led me to this video an I’m so thankful I know my car will be running next week
You welcome glad to help.
Very informative, best video I saw on this subject
Excellent tutorial... And good tips to use the junkyard!
My vtec kicks in so it should just be the gasket then right?
Good video and explanation because my 07 3.5 V6 Odyssey was doing this. Dam rocker arm
You really know your stuff on the Acura TL
That looks so cool!
Dude i really wanna thank you again you saved my TL i was really worried about, i appreciate the quick easy fix , you da man
Glad to help
Okay the same codes have all came back since replacing the solenoid and gasket, should i try replacing the green sensor or what do you think it could be? Same codes for actuator stuck on bank 1
Nice job. You are pretty crafty. Explained well. Thanks.
You welcome
Where are you located. Got a type s that needs some tlc
Man!! Thank you for saving me!
i got a p0335 code for CKP crankshaft position sensor after doing my timing/pump. check engine vsa and ! light on. can u make a vid showing how to unplug the harness the sensor is connected to from behind the engine?
Damn this video just help me out a lot man thanks bro
You welcome
Thanks bro you really helped me fix my problem on my tl
You welcome
I was told my car jumped timing but I took the cover off an everything is in place but I’m glad you made this video an I appreciate the info . You are great!
Hey so I have 07 type s and I’m just having this issue , so instead of changing the actual whole solenoid with the sensors connected to it just replace the exact pieces you were explaining about ?
hey there i know i’m a bit late and i hope you can get back to me, i’m having an issue with my j30a4 that i can’t seem to figure out, solenoid has been changed, oils been changed, wirings been professional checked out, the problem is a p2649 code and the car is not engaging vtec and giving me a 3500 rev limiter, is it possible my rocker arm is clogged or stuck in place?
My 2004 honda accord just started hesitating and engine light cane on once I get to 20 mph... I scanned say actuator rocker arm stuck open on bank one.. I had this same problem about 3 years ago and replace vtech solenoid... what should I do have the rocker arm replaced?
Thank you so much for this video
You welcome glad to help
Hi , and why that one and not the one that is on the top back drivers side vtec solenoid/oil preasure switch , thanks !
I’m getting a p2647 code on my 04 Honda Civic but my engine is not equipped with a vtec solenoid. The code is reading a stick rocker arm. Any ideas on this?
Would this work on Toyota Ch-r 2018?
Same thing was happening to my mom's Honda Fit and the VTech was holding back! I might just change the entire assembly but gonna check the wiring.
My 03 accord got water in that shit with this recent flood I’m not sure what’s wrong but it does that rpm shit I did change the ICV still doing it but ima fo sure change that solenoid tm thanks for the tutorial
I would also drain the transmission also do a few drain and refills to make sure you get all that water out the transmissoon.
Great video mate. Thanks 👍
You welcome
Please tell me more about the symptoms of this on the car. I drive a Honda Accord 2006 V6 3.0VTEC engine. I went for a scan after I discovered it has a shifting problem, the gear delays in selection and other problems. The scan show P0113 and P2649.
What do you think is the problem and how do I get it solved.
If it's p2649 or p2649 it's all leading to the rocker arm actuator issue which is also shown here... If you have shifting issues on that model of honda then look up your transmission oil pressure 3rd and 4th gear pressure switch. They are both located at the back of the driver's side wheel/tire. Inspect those and possibly replace with a new one. This should grant you some sort of help. Giidluck
Hola, thanks for you video. Is very precise on how to fix this problem. I have exactly this issue on my car. My problem is I can’t find this part. Do you know part # or description?
It's called oil filter houseing
I know Hondas parts are almost identical, and there aren't many Acuras where I'm located. Any chance the fitment/ compatibility would match my 04 TL?
Yes it would
I have a 06 tl same problem stuttering but when i read the codes is shows P2647 but oil pressure switch circuit high voltage do i replace the same part or ?????
What if I just changed my oil do I change my oil again?
Nice review.
Thanks
Hey I replaced mine already with one from rock auto and it’s still has the same code what do you recommend it could be , also the check engine only comes on for that code if you’re making sharp turn
I had the same issue. I changed the vtec solenoid filter and all. It had no issues for year. Now the problem is back.
Can this cause Sputtering and hesitation to acceleration ? Nice video to very easy to understand
Yup exactly what was wrong with his car.
Hey I would like to get my headlights custom done by u and I was wondering what I needed to do to get that done?
dm me on instagram or facebook for more info
Can you make a step by step video of installing type s aspec front lip?
yes i will no prob
My 04 Honda Element has that problem wont go over 3000rpms ahe sputters and wont regain power until it drops down to 60mph. I changed upstream 02 sensor and VTECH solenoid and still have same problem. Soneone told me it could be Throttle position sensor, is that true. Thx.
could be scan for codes
P2647 for the vvt oil pressure switch right not the spool it self
Have u experienced or known any propeller issues on the 09 awd system.. nothing on the internet . My car is making a hissing noise and its not the brakes or rotors.
do u have drilled and slotted rotors
@@fabolousg4ever standard vented. I looked on forums claiming its the propeller shaft. Wondering if u done the job before and if so please post a video.. this is a very common issue for these cars and no information on it . If I find out I will inform the people as well . Thank you sir 🙏
I replaced the vtec solenoid. The light went away but a month after the code is back. What should I do now
Hi, can you please make a video on how to remove front driver and passenger seats to clean under them. on your Acura.
yes i will i will do that asap
@@fabolousg4ever Thank You.
Can this contribute on fuel consumption
Wich pressure sensor is on it?
When you unplug the vvt solenoid do you know what the sensor is called that it plugs into? I know it's on a bracket but what's the name of the part?
V-Tech Pressure sensor
valve spool assembly
i have a 2008 v6 3.5 with p2646
6 a rocker arm actuator system performance or stuck off bank 1
Same bro did you fix it ? If so what did you do
P2649 is my code for that particular code is it the v tech solenoid? Honda accord 2007
I just did an oil change s couple days ago would I have to do it again?
I would when I do this I has a houseing from a junk tl worked great after that no more sticking vtec
@@fabolousg4ever I'm ordering the entire part new! I just got the P2647 code
I need to see a 07 TL wiring harness I got some cut wires and need to see what wires go to what please my alternator isn’t charging car won’t go over 3K and I have a flashing green D light 139k 🥺
Check alternator ground wire and follow it threw to make sure no rust or wires got dried out and if you can’t go pass 3k rpm it would be vvt solenoid which is what he showing you in the video the sliver circle with the electric wire on it and to 10mm bolts and flashing green d is safety neutral switch
P2647 Code - 'A' Rocker Arm Actuator System Stuck On Bank 1
I have this error on a Toyota Avensis T27 2015 1.8, you have any idea what it is?
What is the torque spec for this three bolt?
i think 8-16ft lbs
MODS FOREVER okey than I’m not go over than 16 ft lb .....thank you.....
I replace the vtec gasket .....change new oil and filter....engine light is gone ...no more engine light.....but there still have the code p2647 on scantool ....What should I do now??
change solenoid on top of the sensor order it from the dealer
Wym “ on top of the sensor ??”
Iv replaced the valve twice and done two oil changes in 100 miles and after the motor warms up it still goes into limp mode with this code. Any ideas? Mines a 2005 with 213K miles. Just bought it and drove it a few hundred miles before the issue surfaced.
Pedal position sensor might be bad
Have you scanned the car with a all system scanner to get all the codes.
@@fabolousg4ever Yeah its just a P2646 and it keeps coming back after the motor warms up. I wonder if its low oil pressure. Iv replaced the solenoid twice and oil changes twice in under 100 miles.
There's 2 sensors on the valve have you replaced the solenoid also
Did you ever figure it out?
What is the name of that entire piece you pulled out? I’d like to replace the entire thing but don’t know the name
Oil filter houseing.
Trying to find it for my 2005 honda pilot, need it running before Monday, thank you!!!
So u didn't replace the whole component? Or just the gasket?
The whole component for a know working good one
And the gasket
I got a code of P0305 bro can you please help me ?
where online ca you buy these?
try ebay bro
MODS FOREVER found it on amazon!
oh ok good
What model and year is this Honda ?
2003-2008
and acuras 2004-2008
Does it matter if I still got 80% of oil left if I’m gonna change this I have to change the oil anyways?
Yea doesn't matter just change it again
@@fabolousg4ever thanks man really appreciate it so as I take the oil out then I remove the actuator with the oil filter
@@GuzmanJornan and drain the oil from the oil pan .
@@fabolousg4ever okay thank you
I guess you can use a clean can and after putting the part put the oil back , i think no harm
Where are you loctaed
What is the piece you removed called
Oil filter houseing
@@fabolousg4ever do I take the oil out, replace the piece then put the new oil in or do I just do a oil change then replace the piece?
how much would this typically cost?
Used on ebay very cheap or junkyard very cheap
Hey by the way is there a Honda Part number for this ?
Yes there is oil filter houseing thats what its called call the dealer and ask for part #.
Appreciate it thank you
@@jamesparker7706 you welcome
What year is that Acura
04-08 tl
What's the name of the part?
My car has the exact same problem with the stuttering around 2800 rpm in my 06 accord
Did you check for codes
@@fabolousg4ever p2646. I changed my oil and filter 3000-3500 miles ago but the car has 332,000 miles so it burns a little.
Check the oil filter housing filter gasket
@@fabolousg4ever that's the plan. I just noticed this is the v6 model. I have a k24a8, the process shouldn't be too much different correct? Obviously different gasket and solenoid and the solenoid might be in a different spot but the concept should be the same right?
Yes yours is at the top left back of motor
Whats a tl?
I got my 2004 Acura rsx kinda doing the same thing it sounds like this person had I have a video of my car bucking studdering and hitting rev limiter at like 3k rpm lmk if any one can help I have the codes
Codes
@@fabolousg4ever P1077,P2646,P0011
@@fabolousg4ever also on my account you should be able to see a video short of my car to see what I’m talking about
I replaced this and I’m still getting the same code? What can it be?
There's 2 sensors on them did you replace them
@@fabolousg4ever I bought an entire new assembly that came with the sensors off rock auto, well I believe they came with them shouldn’t they?
Not off rockauto that's not oem I used a oem houseing not aftermarket these cars hate aftermarket parts.
@@fabolousg4ever well wouldn’t it at least shut it off? I believe it’s oem it has the same branding as the one that was in there from factory, but what would cause the code to not be gone?
The solenoid swap it out put the oem houseing back on and just replace both of the sensors with oem sensors from the dealer and your problem will go away I guarantee it.
What if I change it completely and its still doing it????
I did all the steps correctly and flushed the oil
Could I be the wrong oil filter I got the housing of a parts tl and cleaned it and change the filter and its still sputtering
Prob the solenoid
I just did an oil and filter change, cleaned out both oil screens, replaced solenoid, still have 2646, 2649. Ideas?
@@elizabethf8078 did you ever solve it?
But my code was 646
