I was going to say you deserve more subs, but with the quality I doubt you'll be at 30k for long!
Great examples of the camera. I had to up my UA-cam resolution to make sure I was getting the actual quality for the video examples. After that, they looked pretty crisp!
Dude the 7t just DESTROYS the 8. I had the 7t and switched it to 8 just 2 weeks ago. Im beginning to regret switching just because of the macro lens. But performance wise, 8 beats 7t way ahead
They are great in good light. I found out macro camera be pretty funny sometimes, and it can be helpfull if you have to read little texts from let's say from motherboards, it does make it pretty fast and easy
Hi Mark, Was wondering if you're enabling any specific camera settings to get such clear selfie pics..recently got the one plus 8 pro and the front camera is no where close to the shots you have posted.
Hey man, did you face any issue of the camera oversaturated reds?(poor colour accuracy in general) The red OnePlus box looks almost magenta/hot pink for me and it ruins exposure almost every time. And my dark grey laptop looks like a whitish silver on camera. Any fixes you suggest?
Hey Mark, at footages like at 0:42 I feel like the image is kinda choppy. As if it's rendered at a lower than 30 fps. It seems to be that way on both my 144hz monitor, on my laptop and on my phone. Might wanna check it out, but I might be just wrong :)
Actually, all of my videos are shot at 4k, 24fps. I prefer the look of 24 to 30. That shot might have been slowed down a little though looking back at it, so it might be choppier by accident.
Great video, is nice to see a photo´s review that actually bother to take good photos, most people seems like they want the photo to be bad and that really pissed me off. Thank you from a new sub
So one super nice thing is when you take a shot on your OnePlus just open that picture up in Google photos and the click the fix brightness buttons or go into edit and change it to "auto" pictures look amazing.
When were these photos and videos taken? Because OP has updated the software with the 8, and the results are supposedly really good. Just wondering if this was before or after that update.
Yeah, I was thinking about doing that today actually. I doubt I'd make a full video on it, but if I do it I'll be posting the results on twitter/instagram.
Sharpness between two cameras is different, because ultrawide does not have AF as my OP7T do. They ditched AF this time to save costs I think. What I cannot understand is that why to bother to put 2MP macro, if they had EXCELLENT macro on OP7T where ultrawide had some mechanical switch inside sensor when you enable macro. But - I think it is because of cost savings too. It is easier to put cheap macro camera than very advanced ultrawide with macro functionality AND AF. This is my first OP phone and I like it alooot, but I wish that 8T or 9 or 9T will have better cameras prior to my phone upgrade next year, because I do not want to leave OP team :)
I see you comment this in almost every recent videos. For the sake of all good things in this world, I really hope he opened up his mind to make this review for you. Cheers :D
You are right! The Camera of OnePlus 8 is not equal. To ensure the color of the taken pictures is balance, the Main Camera and ultra wide camera is the same pixel. For example... 20 mega pixel Main Camera and the ultra wide camera is 20 mega pixei again
?? The OnePlus 8 is like 520 dollars where are you buying this shit from lol. Also 7t didn't even have a macro lens but still performed better, why does adding a useless lens make them seem greedy to you?
I have the OnePlus 8 and this really fucking irritates me about it. Why, would they put a 100% useless camera in it? I honestly feel like the 7T/7T pro has superior cameras because they have a telephoto lens. It's not a massive deal because I don't need to ever take zoomed in photos beyond like x2-3, if at all actually and the digital zoom will do just fine for most cases, but it's nice to know you have a third camera that is actually decent instead of being 100% pure dog shit macro lens. It sucks a bit at times thinking about that. I worry that the OnePlus 8 is gonna be the only OnePlus device that has the shitty macro camera and that might affect resale value, I hope it gets better with software updates but at 2 megapixels it is horrible.
Yeah that’s why in my opinion if I’m going to android side I will choose pixel or 1+. Samsung Flagship Phones don’t make any sense, their flagship is full of gimmicks and overpriced phones that doesn’t get support for 3 years and up.
@@viren317 Same here bro... I bought OnePlus 5 in July 2017 and still it is in good condition. But now I too want to upgrade it to OnePlus 8 pro. Just waiting for it to release in India.
Definitely yes, the 7T has a huge problem in terms of colours as it exports in a weird rec 2020 codec which you need to modify manually in post production to the usual h264 codec! 8 also has much better HDR in video, is sharper ( the software processing is basically much better on the 8 )
I have an older LG G7 ThinQ. Now, if the lighting is good I get some great photos. In the dark? Depends. Now, my daughters have iphones XR and 11. If we take pictures of the same object and compare we say...wow the iphones are much better...but? If we never compare my LG G7 provides great shots overall! Don't compare and you will never know! LOL
A perfectly decent camera aka not flagship level yet. But what is still blew my mind is how in the world they think it's a good idea to put 2MP macro camera instead of full fledged telephoto lens like OP7. 2MP is a complete garbage to be heard in 2020. Heck even Samsung put slightly higher res 5MP macro camera in their budget A51 lol. They crippled a lot of things to push peoples buying the pricier Pro eh. So much bragging about listening to the community lol. OnePlus is not the same anymore ~_~
I would highly suggest not to buy the 8. The lack of a telephoto camera makes it less versatile than the 7T. If we compare the 7 and the 7T, there is a high chance that the telephoto camera will return with macro, wide and ultra wide for a much more versatile camera setup in the 8T.
