I remember watching the "Four Candles Sketch" with my Dad when it was first transmitted, I thought my Dad was going to have a coronary he laughed so much. Thing is the whole sketch is funny, superbly written and performed. A genuine comedy classic.
"A cement lorry has collided with a prison van. Members of the public have been asked to be on the lookout for 16 hardened criminals" Genius. Notification deployed, mate 💥
"So I went to see the producer, he looked at me in his usual way.......over the top of his glasses.......he has this theory that it saves wear and tear on the lenses"
Love it 😂😂
Yep , the concrete overcoat . Make it happen .
Did he write that line? Or just read it?
@@felixfelix7447I think that he and Ronnie Barker wrote a lot of their own stuff, but I'm not sure whether this was one of theirs.
The 2 Ronnie's were legendary and it's goodnight from him 😂
I feel so lucky to have grown up in a time which will never be repeated for so many reasons but mainly for comedy genius like the two Ronnies. One day I hope to meet them both and say thank you personally.
couldnt agree more,3 channels but more quality than the rubbish we have today, some great dramas, and really great actors.
Mee too
Sad that their wasn't a descent plague or plot for him as he was a legend of comedy
Loved the two Ronnies. My mother in law and father in law have their ashes scattered at Croydon Crematorium on the rose garden.
Crystal Palace play at selhurst park, Croydon
My friend worked as a Caddy at Muirfield in Gullane in the 90s here in Scotland he met Ronnie many times and said he was one of the nicest guys you could meet, he spoke to everyone and was always smiling and joking, not like other stars who came to Muirfield who treated green staff like doormats.
That’s always nice to hear about celebs being decent. Thanks again Paul, I appreciate the efforts you go to in making your videos.
I used to see him regularly at Gullane and Musselburgh. He very nice man who loved his golf. Also enjoyed cooking.
Saturday nights weren’t the same without the 2 Ronnie’s growing up as a kid happy memories
The two Ronnies were brilliant, He is at peace at a golf course at the 19th hole.
Pass he's house daily was a beautiful house used see him driving in out of he's house over the years he would allways wave sadly he's wife has just passed away x❤
I grew up on the Shrublands housing estate literally a stones throw from Ronnies house and I used to caddy on the addington golf course which was Ronnies home basically. As kids we would often knock on his door. He never answered but his wife would often open a window and speak to us. We were once messing about on the golf course and he ran out of his garden shouting at us telling us to leave. Me and my mates couldn’t stop laughing because it was very surreal being chased off the golf course by this tiny little man who was a huge star. He was always out and about around Croydon and would always wave when he was noticed. It’s hard to believe his mansion was just opposite the Shrublands estate playing fields where every night teenagers would steal cars and burn them out. Such a diverse area back then where on the Shrublands side mass unemployment and crime was normal and within a few minutes of walking through the woods you’d see multi million pound homes and a completely different class of people. Even as a young kid I can still remember looking at these gorgeous estates and wondering why these people had everything whilst we had nothing. 35 years have passed and the class divide is more prevalent than ever so nothing ever changes. Those born on the wrong side of the tracks have to graft hard forever whilst those born on the other side have everything. Anyway, it was lovely seeing this and reminiscing so thank you Paul for this upload. I feel old today!
Great to hear this and thank you. 🙏
Yes and not too far away from him in Bishops Walk Shirley was Ian Wright living in his mansion who lived a stones throw away from New Addington who has far has I know never did a jot for many struggling families on a large council estate. In defence of Ronnie he would often be seen in his Roller dropping off his cleaner back home on the new estate.
@@2wheelsrbest327I used to work in the Croydon park hotel and numerous football teams would stay there and Arsenal were there once and Wrighty sat in the foyer and ordered a coffee. I approached him with the bill and he was shocked that I was asking him to pay and he told me that Arsenal would take care of the bill. Every footballer I met were all very tight fisted.
@Guvna07 your not wrong.I remember watching a programme & it featured fella's washing footballers cars. They were washing David Seaman's the goal keeper & when asked if ge tipped them they said your joking never. Tight gits.
Brilliant my childhood in the 70s right there ,the fantom raspberry blower
Saturday night's brilliant the two Ronnie's saturday nights not the same anymore always looked forward to watching xmas specials
I lived close by and use to see ronnie driving his roller around.I drove past one day and he was standing on a upturned milk crate washing the top of his roller. He actually chased a burglar out of that house one night.
A Dwarf medium has escaped from jail. they are looking for a small medium at large. Thanks paul. a great video.
Always remember the news portion of the Two Ronnies shows. Classic was " British Rail has increased prices to it's services. A 1st class return will go up 20p, a 2nd class one way will increase 5p and British Rail soup will increase 10p per slice" 🤣 LANGUAGE TIMOTHY!
Winter graveyards are sad. Great info on wee Ronnie.
Christmas has never been the same really without the two Ronnie's, I remember fondly watching them as a child in the late 70's 80's. A lot better than what we have now! Very nicely done this video and for someone who I Don't think will ever be completely forgotten.
Was a great guy and always attracted a crowd when playing golf in local pro ams and one joke he told still makes me chuckle today "For some time my wife had this ridiculous idea that I'm playing too much golf well it came to a head last night at 11.30 .She suddenly shouted Golf Golf Golf all you ever think about is bloody golf ! Well I will be honest it frightened the life out of me ,I mean you don't expect to meet somebody on the 14th green at that time of night 😅.Great guy RIP Ronnie .
Oh my word I grew up in that area ,we spoke to Ronnie on several occasions,a real gentleman. There were so many car crashes outside Ronnie,s house .brings back so many memories.👍
Such a great comedian that brought tears of laughter to so many people over the years. Him and Ronnie Barker made such a fantastic pairing of comedy geniuses. So sad to see the state of his once loved home - which backed onto the golf club where he used to love to play. Your visit to the Croydon cemetery and crematorium brought back many memories for me. In the 70's I walked through the cemetery on a daily basis on my way to school at Lanfranc High school. When you first enter the cemetery from Thornton Road, on the left there is a large remembrance garden where 34 pupils and 2 teachers from Lanfranc high school are buried. They were all killed in a tragic air disaster in Norway back in 1961, whilst on a school trip. Your walk around the crematorium itself brought back some very strong memories, it was where my own mum was cremated in 1984. So hard to believe that was 40 years ago now. My mum by the way absolutely loved Ronnie Corbett, she used to love his armchair story times, just waiting for the punch line we all knew was coming at the end! A great man, from a great period in British comedy.
The two Ronnies were superb, on there own they were superb, Ronnie Corbett was a sweetie, he was so funny in everything he was in. A really nice guy. A very nice cemetery, nicely looked after. RIP Ronnie Corbett 💐💐💐💐, so sorely missed and never forgotten. Thank you Paul for the video. Take care xxxx
Love little Ronnie!...sitting in his chair in his Pringle jumper telling a joke on the Two Ronnies - legend! loved his golf too. RIP Mr Corbett
How sad there is not a plaque to him one of the comic greats. You could just hear him saying don’t worry about me just spread my ashes on the golf course around the 18th hole. It would have been nice for fans to have had some where to pay their respects.
RIP Ronnie playing a round with the greats now.🙏🕯️
Another great video Paul and it's goodnight from me and goodnight from him
The two Ronnie's, always great entertainment with plenty of laughs galore
I remember I once met Ronnie Corbett with his wife, he was absolutely lovely I was working in a theatre. I am a child of the 80s and remember Sunday nights with the Two Ronnies. Who remembers the worm that turned with Diana Dors?
His house backs onto the 6th hole of The Addington golf club. We played there a fair number of times in the 1970s and 1980s. We saw him a few times. He usually had a couple of clubs and hit a few balls whilst walking his dogs. He always disappeared quite quickly when he saw us.
He used to take his grandchildren to the Panto at Woking Theatre. I saw him in the audience on one or two occasions. Always had time for people. A comic genius. 😢
Loved The 2 Ronnies. 2016 was a heck of a year for Celebrity Deaths... Saying that so is this year. 😢
Just up the road from me. A lot of my family are laid to rest in Croydon crematorium though it’s more towards Beddington outskirts of Croydon than in Croydon itself. I have passed his old house loads of times too. Very nice area. Never met him though but I loved what he did with his side kick and they was both a firm favourite every Christmas at my mum’s house 🥰
Hi Paul.
Sad that there is no memorial plaque to Ronnie C. If you haven’t already done so, do contact the British Music Hall Society because they may know of somewhere that they either have already placed a plaque or are intending to do so in the future. I feel sure that one or another organisation will have commemorated him somewhere. Keep ‘em coming!
Kind regards,
Mark
absolutely hilarious pair I remember watching them 😂😂😂
I lived in that area for many years and know that church very well. He was an awesome comedian , thank you for sharing ❤
We managed to get into little Ron's beautiful home during the first lockdown. It is a truly remarkable 1920s construction. The ground floor rooms absolutely vast, were intact albeit damp as no roof. The spectacular oak paneled living room with vaulted ceiling and a minstrels gallery was absolutely stunning.
I have very fond memories of the Two Ronnies because my Dad loved them, especially The Phantom Rasberry Blower sketches.
HE WAS AN AWESOME COMEDIAN AND A NICE MAN PERSONAL LIFE WISE :)
Loved everything about the two Ronnies both individuals were talented I used to love in particular their songs which were so funny and very cleverly put together of course everyone remembers "4 candles" RIP both 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I grew up watching classic comedy sitcoms with my dad - Bottom, The Young Ones, Steptoe and Son, Only Fools and Horses, including The Two Ronnies, though unfortunately my dad passed away back in 2015 when I was just 11.
Watching your videos, especially the ones like this one really bring back some great memories I had with him so Thankyou Paul.
RIP Ronnie, and to all the other comedy fanatics who we’ve lost. Rik Mayall, Harry H. Corbett, Wilfrid Brambell, Buster Merryfield, John Challis, Lennard Pearce. You all have a special place in our hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My favourite pair of comedians I've ever got the box set
Love proper classic comedy mate, your dad brought you up with good taste in comedy ❤ love the 2 Ronnie's,Rik Mayall was a complete one off, loved everything he did,R.I.P. to your dad ❤❤
How things have changed.,they were the days where writers wrote sitcoms ,because they didn’t even conceive that it would be any issue.it was just good fun and laughter.now adays u can’t even say boo to a goose without being taken in account.
It’s sad..to think the best have passed on..and l don’t watch TV anymore.there nothing but cooking programmes ..so boring.
Love thy neighbour was my favourite
Evening Paul. Lovely tribute to this wonderful man. I loved the two ronnies. Such a shame to see his house in that terrible state.
A great comedy actor a national treasure he be remembered by fans always fans of the 2 Ronnie's always another great video from the English utuber a kind humble humsn being always
Thank u Paul. Pleased your have done Ronnie. He lived not far from me. Nice to see they’re doing something with the house after the terrible fire. A legend
Just read on Wikipedia, that Ronnie's wife, Ann, passed away in Scotland on November 5th at the age of 90.
May both RIP.
When I was a kid I loved Sorry. He was the perfect foil for Ronnie Barker in their shows.
Hi Paul, love The Two Ronnies! Been watching them lately..(it's nearly Christmas, it's the law 😂)...Looking forward to this! Hope you're well and staying warm 🙏🏻 xx
Loved the two Ronnies they were staples along with Morecambe & Wise growing up
Ronnie was often seen playing at the Golf Club in Gullane Scotland & as it wasn’t far from my Aunties in North Berwick I did happen to see him in the village once
Thanks Paul another lovely video
Fork Handles Sketch will never age it was a classic piece of comedy timing
Love Ronnie Corbett. His Wife passed recently so they are together again. Thank you❤
Hi Paul.
I’m sure most people are aware, that Ronnie was a very keen golfer, and his house backs onto the golf course where he was a member, he had a gate in his back garden that took him straight onto the course.
I Use To WatchThe Two Ronnies When It Was On PBS Over Here In The USA 🇺🇸. Some Years Ago. Loved It. Hilarious!! 😂
I just loved watching the Two Ronnies on the television
Hey Paul, Aww used to love watching The Two Ronnies and watching Ronnie in Sorry when I was a kid, so really looking forward to this one. I remember reading about Ronnie’s funeral afterwards and that there was four candles lit in the church at the service as a nod to the sketch 🤣🤣 Brilliant! Which I thought must have brought some light hearted humour in a time of such sadness x
Class act . Bumped into Mr corbett in wing yips. He was a charming man. One of the best double acts ever!
The Two Ronnies was a Classic performance, Brilliant
Awww he was fantastic, he had a beautiful home.. sad to know he and Ann didn't make it to their Golden wedding anniversary bless her. The grave with the bunches of flowers on with a sunflower in every one caught my eye, it looked lovely.. that lump that your read out for Adeline looked like it should also have a cross on the top or something. Thank you for this Paul, a well loved man, great memories for me, i remember him as far back as crackerjack.
Thank you again Paul, rip Ronnie Corbett you little legend xx
Great video again Paul thanks
Just watching this Paul, yet another fantastic video, Thank you. Ronnie was part of our days as kids wasn't he !
Bless him for the laughs he bought us.
At 58 years of age many of these wonderful actors and comedians who brought so much joy are now sadly no longer with us.
I’m really lookin firward to this one brilliant icon of our country ❤RIP ROnnie Corbett you bought loads of laughs with the two Ronnies ❤
Half of a legendary comedy 2. What a fantastic graveyard omg unbelievable Graves mate. Thanks again Paul 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent video as always Paul. Thank you.
There's an article from the Mirror from December 2018 in which his daughter, Sophie, says that her Mum, Anne, still had Ronnie's ashes on her sideboard 2 years after he died. Apparently, he liked to watch Strictly Come Dancing, so she put him there so he wouldn't miss it!
Anne herself died in Scotland in November, 2023.
His Find a Grave memorial says his ashes were indeed eventually scattered on the golf course.
The two Ronnies were my Dad's favourite, we both enjoyed watching them together, I visited Ronnie Barker's memorial after seeing your video Paul, It was lovely to watch this video a great reminder of the great comedians they were, Brilliant!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for doing this one!, I am So So Glad someone has saved this Legend’s Magnificent property that Obviously meant so much to him!👍🏴
Lived not far from him. When they moved from that beautiful house they bought one just down the road a bit which still backed onto the golf course. Often saw him driving a blue Rolls Royce(looked like nobody was driving lol). Did you manage to get to Beckenham Crematorium to visit WG Grace and Thomas Crapper which isn't too far away. Also West Norwood(one of London's Magnificent Seven) as many famous names there.
My friend was good friends with him and his wife his wife has also passed away a few weeks ago, my friends late wife used to clean for them and became very good friends
What a legend was he ! My heart is drowning while watching this video.
British comedy at it's very best. ♥
Oooo his house beautiful , can’t wait Paul , Xmas always the 2 Ronnie s for me xx

Love Ronnie Corbet. What a great man. So sad when he passed away.
Hi Paul, love your channel, and your paranormal one, you are so respectful on your vidoes.
Love all the detail you go into.
The crimefiles are done so tasteful as well, I love the history in graveyards that you look into.
I myself love walking round them with my partner.
Thankyou again for all your hardwork ❤
Thank you kindly
*In Churchill voice* "Ooooohhh YES!" Ever since discovering you has had me checking out many other famous grave visitors, Ronnie C has been one of the people I've most wanted to see being visited and tributed. I was beginning to think maybe he couldn't be visited.... Having been a massive Two Ronnies fan since I was a wee kiddie, I'm so looking forward to you visiting the wonderful Ronnie C. I'll be there at 7 Paul, you're a treasure! ⭐
Love your content Paul watched so many of your videos and loving them and the respect and love you show to lost loved ones ❤️ ♥️ 💜 💕
R-C, Just one half of a unique comedy duo. who had no few peers, in my opinion.
God I miss these people, my brother and I watched with our gran, I don't get comedy these days, bring back the 70s and 80s
Loved the 2 Ronnies and was lucky to see him in panto RIP Ronnie
Brilliant video! Being a Croydon lad, born and breed, knew that house well and often seen Ronnie knocking about the manor, or smokin' 'round in his Jag. Even spoke to him a couple of times and his lovely wife. Saw him loading his car up at Majestic Wines in Sanderstead a few times, just down the road from his old house. Being a little fella, he had to lift he boxes up some way before they went in the boot! Think he moved just down the road when he sold to the JLS guy, to a small private road nearby. Remember the fire, slightly involved in the aftermath in making it safe! The Two Ronnies were the first show I ever saw when I was a young nipper, back in the mid 70's, at the London Pallie. a memory for ever. Still have the programme somewhere. Sad day when he passed and of course sad when the other Ronnie went too. Great summary, great video!!! And so as it was often said, It' s good night from him
The old ones are always the best. Thank you Paul.
Use to live just around the corner, and went past this daily.
Used to love the two ronnies thank you for another great video Paul and long may they continue x
You're doing a fab job & thanks for the well researched commentary, makes it all the better.
Ronnie Corbett introduced this stupid expression " SORRY " into our every day vocabulary . To every question asked the answer was "sorry " I always replied sorry , what have you done .
