This scene is proof that strong female characters don't need to be capable of arm wrestling the hulk. Here Natasha (the "weakest" avenger) uses the strengths and skills she has to trick the literal trickster God himself. She knew were her strengths lay and used them to take everything from him. She made herself more useful than any of the other much stronger Avengers.
And strong female characters should be allowed to be feminine and have vulnerabilities. They don't have to take on masculine traits and calloused personalities to appear strong.
Weakest Avenger? You might be giving Hawkeye a little to much credit. In a one on one no holds bared I'm laying my loot down on The Russian Revenger, aka The Black never ever wack, Widow widow. Hawkeye yields before round 4. Give me my money.
I really like that Nat reveals later in the movie that her reaction to his words was genuine, and that she was skilled enough to compartmentalize her emotions after Loki let a little too much of his plans slip out with another jab.
I mean, it's the Trickster god himself, not only can't she lie with her words, she can't lie with her reaction. Faked emotions are still a falsehood. Her ability to separate everything about herself, from her identity to even her emotional state, is exactly why she can trick him. Can't tell a lie when you don't even know what's the truth about yourself.

I love how Loki clocked the hypocrisy from Natasha and used it to mentally torture her, it’s why she tells Barton she was compromised, Loki got to her because everything he said about her pretending to be something else was all true

The only issue I have with this scene is that every intelligence agent would know that you don't let Loki know that you figured it out. You walk away letting him think he's won and then call in the threat from the hall.
That's a fair point, but it's not the most unrealistic event in the movie, and it was fun for the audience. Also.: her fear was real, when Loki told her his plans for Barton; fear can make people angry; perhaps she was so angry that her impulse to "put Loki in his place" over-rode her professional habits.
Tom Hiddleston is such an underrated actor. He was so damn good in Crimson Peak. He honestly can play just about anything. The Night Manager. Loki. Etc.

@@georgekouts I actually did watch the movie thanks, rewatched it yesterday. That was Loki's plan yes, but he didn't account on being outwitted by Black Widow, which nearly threw a wrench into his plan.
I had a chance to meet Tom Hiddleston as an extra in the first Avengers film back in 2011. I was in the Air Force stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico (where much of the film was shot) when my supervisor told me the studio was looking for extras. Keep in mind the first Thor had just recently been released a few months prior and here I was portraying a shield soldier escorting Tom Hiddleston as Loki on the Helicarrier. He caught me staring at him in disbelief during one of the breaks between shots and he asked me “How are you?”. I said “I’m good! How are you?” His reply, “Good to be back on the horse”. Still an unbelievably surreal moment that I will never forget. Also, I got to meet RDJ for a second time (first time was on the set of Due Date). Very cool experience.

@@sanjanavenkatesh9044 truthfully his tricking didn't have to do with Hulk really, his entire plan the whole movie was to bring the Avengers together so they can later defeat Thanos, he was spiteful and didn't want to take orders from Thanos anymore, so he went to Earth to cause a war cause he knew it would be the only way to bring them all together and to fight along side each other
Christopher Riley umm no. Thanos literally sent Loki to start that war to get the teserract/space stone. Ragnorok was the turning point for Loki in when he wanted to be on their side
Christopher Riley imagine loki’s series dealing with him going back in time to kill thanos before he kills him, effectively helping unite the avengers to achieve it. that would mean the loki in this scene is the one from the upcoming series
“They won’t touch Barton. Not until I make him kill you. Slowly. Intimately. In every way he knows you fear. And then he’ll wake just long enough to see his good work. @@emaadkhan3031 Except that was his plan all along? He always intended on unleashing the Hulk. You can see it on his face the moment he passes Banner as he is taken to "his" cell. @@Thalanox not the case, if you looking for some excuse to say that then go watch endgame at the scene where around 10 female characters with most of them having no relation to each other join together out of nowhere. The scene is actually Loki tricking Natasha into “tricking” him all in a convoluted plot to make sure the Avengers form in order to kill Thanos because Loki is really spiteful and isn’t about to let some purple jellybean order him around. So yeah there’s that.
I was with you until "to make sure the Avengers form". Hulk almost killed the Avengers (mainly Black Widow), the ship almost went down, if it wasn't for Nick Fury, Loki's plan to disassemble the Avengers would've worked. But Loki tricked Natasha into tricking him. The whole "trying to prevent something ends up causing it in the first place" trick.
@Sea Bro the contraction and apostrophe isn't the mistake here you idiot, she said you're "a" monster. Learn Grammar yourself before you correct someone else's and call them a bitch, you bitch.
Literally only saw the top half of her. Also, "her cake"? You people are all a bunch of weirdos. 1 day edit: Idk who liked my comment but thanks for being sane.
Ok let’s get this settled…..Loki was not tricked at all by her. He’s the trickster god for goodness sakes. He told her exactly what he wanted to. Her so called “trick” changed absolutely nothing and in fact, had the others pressuring banner to calm down and leave which actually got him angrier. Her running to the lab all pumped up only made the entire situation more tense. He was already successfully manipulating all of them mentally and to think she somehow resisted this and tricked him is ridiculous.
This has got to be the one and only time Loki was tricked by a mortal and I loved every bit of it. Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow truly was something special and she proved it in this scene. The government taught her to kill but what she does here is something that cannot be taught... using her brain and whits to get necessary and vital information.
The government taught him almost everything she does in the movie, what the government didn't teach was to have a moral to everyone who is weaker and be a bully. That she developed by herself. She was suppose to be a assassin who doesn't blink twice who she kills as target is a target. But when your assassin grows a morality, you lose a control of them. This scene is all about what the government trained her to be, an excellent information digger from subjects without them noticing it. What government didn't want her to do was then to reveal the subject that she learned something. That is what a superior agent would never do, lower their pokerface in front of the person. As there Natasha went fully emotional state as she wanted to revenge to Loki about how good she is and to mock Loki for personal pleasure. And that is why this scene is so bad as properly written scene would had Black Widow running away from the room weeping, leaving Loki thinking that he hurt her. And then when the door closes behind the Black Widow she would have made the call and transmit information she learned, without revealing it to Loki. That is the American bullying and weak morality that is in this scene, when you get opposition to show some weakness, you need to make it public to mock them as pleasure. But it is here so because audience was wanted to feel mockery toward Loki when he learns he has been blabbing like a child about his master plan. And the problem is that he would never had done so without planning, as being a trickster you need to be able play your part through and through without mocking your enemy. And that is again one thing why this scene is weak. A god that doesn't care about mortals sis suddenly feeling need to become so pathetic to pleasure himself for praising himself to nobody....
Scarlett is too talented to have been in the Avenger movies. And after seeing Black Widow it shows. Black Widow should of had at least one more stand alone movie. Superhero movies are better that way. The Dark Knight trilogy is proof of that. ❤❤

What if she was really into pegging would you still wanna do it with her?
@@miletilblight2181 - Meh... A small price to pay.
Dr. Strange trick him by falling in 30 min.. 😆😆😆😆😆😆
@@paristo Did you get a lot of personal pleasure there by publicly mocking the audience, Americans, the writers and others?

loki was tricked? bro loki tricked her. played like a piano
Scarlett is too talented to have been in the Avenger movies. And after seeing Black Widow it shows. Black Widow should of had at least one more stand alone movie. Superhero movies are better that way. The Dark Knight trilogy is proof of that. ❤❤
