I have a 2000 Avalon XLS. Has 175k miles and recently changed spark plugs, coils, tires , alignment, oil solenoids on both sides. And that thing runs like a champ!

Dude that thing is MINT. Looking for one of these cars, parents still have a 2000 Avalon with about 270k miles, brother in law is driving it. It has held up damn well, still has all its silver paint on it, interior looks near mint with the cloth seats and console shift, runs/shifts like a new car. Suspension is a bit worn, but for all original shocks and bushings it still drives pretty damn nice.

Jachou Naj I would go for the Lexus ES300 but this premium sedan isn’t disappointing either!

This Avalon is one of the best highway cruisers. Bought 2013-2018 ES350, worst seats ever for driver, pushes your shoulders forward and gives severe upper back pain. Didn't notice it until driving 4 hours straight, but now that it's causes so much strain on my upper back can't drive it 5 minutes, but any other car I'm fine. Looking to get one these old well taken care of Avalons from 2004. My mom has 2004 and I drove the same drivetrain in the 1999 ES 300, just flies down the highway at 80-90mph no problems, smooth, hardly notice the rough roads and it's not as bouncy as the 2007-2012 ES350. The newer ES350 2013-'18 is like riding in a Jeep or something, rides stiffer than my Lexus GS300, which rides firmer for its gen. And pretty sure even rides firmer than our 2007 Highlander.

Underrated car. High-end model but still made by Toyota and not Lexus. Way better package then a simple Camry. Even Honda hasn't developed a model to compete. Not sure why that is. There's been the Taurus, Impala, Maxima and I'm sure I'm missing others.

your not kidding when you said in pristine condition...its almost like something off a showroom floor except something on a showroom isn't going to have 104K on it. Having said that though I don't think in my opinion thats bad mileage for something that old

Why doesn’t Honda have a car that competes against the Toyota Avalon and other full size Sedans?
