I bought my Avalon Limited with 62k, for 13k, in New York so far it runs great I had no issues so far (KNOCK ON WOOD) Love this car drives beautifully I have had it for a year now and am very satisfied with my purchase. I hope to be an owner of this car for a very long time. FINGERS CROSSED!

I bought a 2016 back in December 2023, with 180k miles, I found that the transmission was slipping in second gear. I had it checked it needed rebuilding because the lack of maintenance. I said that to say this have the transmission fluid changed not flushed. You are at the recommended mileage to have the pan fluid only changed (not flushed). I replaced the transmission and I’m loving it. Stay on top of the maintenance and you will never regret it.

Bought my 13 hybrid premium with 29K miles 1 owner. 7 years of ownership, and now at 90k miles, the body control module went out in year 5 of ownership, and i took it to an auto electrician and they fixed it. Aside from that, super smooth and reliable as hell! Some criticism with this car is that the shiny wrap around the interior by the head unit begins to peel away, same for the chrome around the a/c vent. The leather on the arm rests and (front) center console rest isn’t very good. But the leather on the actual seats, dash, and door panel is EXCELLENT. Car’s factory brakes and suspension still holding strong, a testament to how solid toyota builds cars.

Armrests were always a problem with this generation, I've upgraded mine too. Dash and door panels are vinyl though, and so are the armrests but they're a lot worse quality for some reason. Unfortunately not leather

I had a 2013 Avalon XLE Touring and drove it from 52K to 218K before it was just totaled by a hit and run driver. Only thing I replaced was an alternator. Other than that it was all standard maintenance items. 3 batteries, original brakes and rotors made it to 125k, original struts made it to 185k, original plugs changed at 160k coils were still going strong. I was shooting for 300k !

I've sold Toyota since 2018, and I'll be honest, I love all the Avalons, but I think the 4th gen is a better ride. I bought a 2018 yesterday, and what an excellent car. You really can't go wrong though. Interest is bad right now, 800+credit score to get 6.99 with a credit union, no money down 99% ltv. No complaints though. What's up Avalon gang?

I recently purchased a one owner 2014 Avalon Limited with 32,000 miles. Overall condition is
so excellent it's hard to believe the car is 10 years
old. The documented maint. records were perfect
with oil changes every 5,000 miles.
One minor rear bumper accident reported but you
can look as hard as you like and just can't tell.
EVERYTHING works on this car and the best part
is that my son fits in this car @ 6'-5" & 275lbs.
The car is not a rocket ship, but it makes good
power. For a large sedan, the gas milage is VG
to excellent. I was going about 20mph and took
the pedal quickly to the floor and broke the front
tires loose on dry concrete. I hope my son let's

I own a 2018 Avalon Limited. I've only had one problem with the water pump which the dealer replace under the warranty.
The only other complaint I have is with the quality of the interior materials. The console arm rest, the door pulls and steering wheel are all showing significant wear. Also, the chrome trim on the driver side is showing wear. Other than that I'm pleased with the overall vehicle performance. I would have purchased another but sadly, as you know, the Avalon has been discontinued. So onward to the Lexus E350.

I bought a new 2014 Avalon Touring model. It currently has 150,000 miles on it. Drive train has been superb as with the rest of the car. I just had to replace the front wheel bearings and that’s it. Everything else on that car is original other than the typical maintenance items. The car still runs, handles and rides beautifully well. Very nice to drive around town and great on longer interstate trips. The only issue I’ve had with the interior is the small, thin chrome accenting the dashboard and its gauges is peeling off. If you’re not careful you can receive a nasty cut on your hands because it will become very sharp from where the chrome has produced small burs.

Just (11/30/23) traded in my 2013 Avalon Limited V6 with tech pkg. In 11 years of ownership I only had 1 problem other than recalls. It was the gas door not opening. It was covered under warrantee.
2013 - 2014 had a few unique features that later builds did not. The limited came with a hidden CD player behind the 9" info screen. The screen folded down for access. Cool! Fog lamps. Not a biggy because the HID headlights washed them out. The info screen was integrated into the dash instead of looking like a tablet 2nd thought add-on.
My biggest complaint was the ride quality. These years had on the higher trims, 18" rims with low profile tires. This along with a "sporty" suspension sometimes gave a harsh ride. Especially over expansion joints. Don't count these years out. Also look for a 2 tone interior. It really shows off the design.
Honestly, if my 2013 Avalon drove and road as well as my 2024 ES 350. I would have kept it. Only 48,000 miles.

We are original owners of a 2010 Avalon Limited with 104k miles on great condition. We love the car & it still runs great with plenty of power & a smooth ride. Does yours have Laser Cruise which is the original version of "collision avoidance" & automatically brakes the car if someone pulls in front of u on the freeway. You can set the distance range. It has air cooled & heated seats gr & back. The only thing I don't like is the lack of of a backup cam or sensor which makes b/up parking difficult. Also we get 30+ mpg with ac on & 34-35 with it off!

The one-owner, no- accidents car has 29,000 miles and a Carfax history of oil changes every 5,000 miles They want almost 21k but the deal breaker is the history of problems associated with this model year.

Purchased a used 2015 Avalon XLE w/ 85,000 recently, overall it's a great car and has a good service history. The one complaint I would say is that the dashboard gets reflected onto the windshield (front and back), particularly on a sunny afternoon. It can be somewhat distracting. Looking at forums, they often suggest either polarized sunglasses or getting a dashmat.

use an interior cleaner that leaves a matte finish, don't buy Armorall or anything that says it leaves a "shine". You want that matte finish so it doesn't leave a shiny surface that reflects back into the windshield and traps UV light that leads to dashes melting. I've been using Meguiar's Interior Quik-Detail for years with good results, you can find that in every auto store, walmart, etc. there are other products too just definitely avoid the "shine" leavers

Nice video. When I retire in 4-5 years my 2002 Lexus ES 300 will have about 220k miles which is still nothing for that car.
At that time I may look into a well preserved 5th Gen ES350 2011-12 or a 2015-18 Avalon. Just love my 02 ES300 so much and shortly after buying it 2 1/2 years ago I replaced several 20 year OEM parts so I may just keep it longer. It was a one owner and well taken care of. Currently at 179k miles it has plenty of life left

@@MeynMotorGroup hello to you also! Doing great thanks! Yeah literally put about the same amount of money into it compared to what I paid for it. Not complaining one bit. I replaced my alternator, starter, exhaust flex pipe, ac compressor (squealing but working), 4 struts (rear ones started leaking about 6 months after I bought it) and most recently front brake calipers. The small dealer I bought it from replaced the OEM muffler when I bought it in April 2021.
Rides like new, not one squeak or rattle and everything still works. Yes I’ve seen your reviews on the 4th gen ES and you did a great job on them. Although everyone in world claims that the Camry is the best car out there, both of my Camry's haven't been. At this point im done with Camry, and want to try something different. I will be falling into some settlement money soon. I was looking at some Acura TLX( Base) but then the other part of me was saying just to pay cash for something cheaper under $20k and save the rest of my investment. And the Avalon came to mine. I even saw a pre owned 2018 BMW 330i with low miles. Yes the Avalon would last longer. So from what i heard. But at this point i really need something AWD 😕 and once again ready to move on from Toyota.

I love these cars, hence why I’m watching this video. I have a 2013 Hyundai Genesis that I bought used with 60,000 miles on it for $17,000 in 2018. It is loaded with all options and the 3.8L V6.
As I’ve been researching Avalons more more, it seems like my Genesis and this 4th generation Avalon are very similar. The biggest discrepancies are the Genesis is rear wheel drive and its V6 offers 333 hp and the transmission tuning is very poor for downshifts. To be clear, 99% of the time the car shifts flawlessly and smoothly but the other 1% of the time when I’m slowing to a stop and end up needing to hit the gas before I come to a stop (like approaching a red light that then turns green), there is a good three second hesitation as it hunts to find the right gear. Otherwise the two cars seem to be very similar.
Oh and I’m sure the Toyota will last long into the 200,000 mile mark. I’m at 125,000 miles on my Genesis that have been problem free but I don’t expect it to have continued reliability past 200,000 miles like the Toyota will.

Didn’t think I’d do this job this long or I wouldn’t have bought any car to leave it in the garage with 25,000 miles on the clock. I did change out the radio to a 10” Pioneer floating head unit, that made a big change. Other than a panel recall which I never noticed, it’s been one of the best cars I’ve owned. But I did step up from a 96 Corolla that I gave my stepdaughter. Too bad she trashed it as it was in perfect condition. Never again. TMI

I have a 2016 Avalon, and I stay in Louisiana. I don't have those issues at all, and we have many 100°+ days here.

I’ve had my 2013 Avalon XLE for 9 years. She’s got 136K miles on her now and I’m happy to say I’ve never had any real issues. The pleather on the driver side arm rest and center console is cracking and looks worn but other than that she drives and smells like the day I got her. This car has been a great investment for me and I’m going to try and make it last another 9+ years!

Is it reasonable to buy a hybrid 2018 Avalon limited with 105,160 miles for $17,000?
