Interesting interview... Not the most dynamic interviewer, however. Fun to watch. Arnold conquered bodybuilding, he then conquered the American action movie genre, and went as far in American politics as one who was not born in the U.S. could! A series of amazing accomplishments. Even if you are not a fan, his achievements are admirable.

It's amazing to see someone who inspires one to reach greatness, unlike others who blame others for their lackluster life, and demands everything should be "free."
Arnold Schwarzenger one of the only Austro-American icons, he is someone everyone can look up to when it comes to being who you want to be reaching your goals and surpassing them

I read his biography a few years ago , quite impressive what Arnold accomplished in his lifetime ,born and raised in a small rural Austrian town , being poor ,living in a little house with no running water. He was such a determined , goal oriented individual.
Well actually a Austrian made Red bull, granted he took inspiration from a Thai Drink, but nonetheless a Austrian created Red Bull and it is being sold by a Austrian company also the Red bull Hq is in Austria.
If you think of where Arnold started out from, then where he got to - a mega film star and then on to becoming Governor of California, you cannot help but admire the man for his ambition, drive to achieve his dreams and his hard work and tenacity alone. There is also something just so damned likeable about him. I get the sense he doesn't take himself too seriously at all, which is a great quality. Hats off to him!
i always loved arnold bcus i could turn my brain off and enjoy his movies, this makes me want to sit down and hang out with him so badly. his personality seems amazing.
A movie about Schwarzenegger and Elon Musk is needed. Hollywood did a masterpiece with Mark Zuckerberg's life and could do even better with Arnold's and Elon's life as they were outsiders and it is much more interesting seeing how they got in and how they got started

I felt the very opposite way growing up. As a kid my mom would tell me stories of when she grew up in Germany and of how her and my dad used to live in Germany. So from a very early age I felt as if I belonged in Germany more than I did in America. And that drove me all the way into adulthood to when I eventually joined the Army and I ASKED to be sent to Germany. I got my wish, I lived in Germany for over 5 years and I never wanted to leave. I lived in Mannheim, which is now like a second home to me. Even though I'm not longer there and I'm back in America, I still keep in touch with my friends in Germany and I'm going to be going back as soon as I can.
@EthnoEuropean's CountriesAreBeingInvaded I've been in both. They're fun cars, especially to modify, as they are so cheap. But in a more important way, yeah, we like things small, we're OK with small cars, apartments instead of houses, having a fulfilling job but not necessarily "shooting for the stars". It's a more general European thing, a modest lifestyle. Now Arnie liked BIG. Of course he didn't come for the big cars, that was his way of painting the picture, but he knew he wanted to be, if not famous, then at least known and respected. And that he achieved. Had he stayed in Austria, which is a country many, many people would want to live in and have modest lives, he very likely would not have accomplished much of note. All European countries have their Arnolds, ours were people like Nikola Tesla, who would likely have perished in WW2 had he stayed. I don't believe in the American way, but I think we here in Europe could take a page or two out of their book. What great inventions have we Europeans made in the last hundred years... while living in Europe? Why don't we all have garages like Americans to tinker in and start our businesses out of? Especially here in Serbia and in general in Eastern Europe, all young people face a major life choice: Stay, and settle for an even more modest life, or try to go at least to Austria or Germany to be able to live a little bit bigger. I'm not even going to touch upon the issues of corruption and economic stagnation, this is a question of life philosophy. So, yes, we do like it small, and it's ruining us. BTW, I love classic Top Gear
I felt exactly the same thing as Arnie felt. I live 7 hours away from his hometown. He is so accurate. Everything here is small and out of proportion. I need to get outta here one day too.
If he would tell his whole story of how one can become famous, this would be an 10 hour interview of raw emotions which 95% of people here could not handle or sacrifice to achieve what did man did :)

Didn't even take a salary to star in Twins, which for me is some of his best work and elevated his profile from merely an ultimate action hero, to someone who could also be great in comedy.
Achieved 3 life times in 1 go. Legend.
fantastic interviewer. not a single redundant sentence.
Almost correct. The native of Kenya, alias Barrack Hussein Obama, made it to the White House. Both created bankruptcy and social pollution.
Wrong, Obama is from Hawaii. He was born 2 years after Hawaii became part of the U.S. as it's 50th state.
Doc Browning A person who wasn't born in the US cannot by any means become the president of the United States. Your comment is either some birth certificate conspiracy / copycat bs, or good old internet trolling.
Depression Beard Well, Obama admitted it.

I am always amazed at what this man achieved in his life. He had a mindset that he would not fail at whatever he did. Such a great inspiring man Arnold has been.
He's had such an amazing life built on confidence and positive thinking.
It's amazing to see someone who inspires one to reach greatness, unlike others who blame others for their lackluster life, and demands everything should be "free."
An interview with Arnold?
"Stick around."
Haha
for a man who learned English as an adult, it's amazing, he speaks like a poet. this man imposes respect ...
Graham is on a hot streak.
But, you should have ask about his and Stallones competition as a top action actors in their time.
That would have been great to ask. Sorry for missing it!
Graham Bensinger it's fine, you still do the best job!
You did a great job. You can't cover everything!!
cause that hasnt been asked and answered a 1000 times before...wait, it has.
They both have spoken about that almost a million times
Arnold Schwarzenger one of the only Austro-American icons, he is someone everyone can look up to when it comes to being who you want to be reaching your goals and surpassing them
not many people know what they want to do with their lives at such a young age, and then not only follow through but succeed. It’s an amazing story and he’s a legend
It is not just Arnold, lots of people from UK dream about living in the USA too. Just take a look at english pop stars, most of them living in the USA now and they love it - they also love much better weather in the southern parts of the USA compared to mostly cold Europe.
I don't
Southern Europe is warmer than america, plus most Europeans look down on america and for good reason, gtfoh

He clearly pursued his dream instead of just dreaming as many do.
I've vacationed in Austria. It's a kinder, gentler, more friendly Germany. You know, like Canada is to the US.
And I lived in Germany, are you suggesting that it's a harsh place? Or are you basing what your saying on events from 75 years ago? Because I never heard anyone say a harsh thing or saw anyone do anything unkind in my time over there, and that was 35 years ago.
Is that why Arnold chose the USA over Canada? Dimwit
Germany is great and Canada has a lot of issues too mate
@@NyanHomeschoolGirl17
Put any country under a microscope and you'll see issues, everything's ugly under a microscope, even the most gorgeous supermodel has germs.
I like you have experienced all 4 countries. I totally agree.
I think I saw this man in a movie
I thought he was a politician
vaaleri hahaha
wasnt he a bodybuilder?
Aurora 91
Well, I guess. But not a natural one
Igal and vaaleri, you're thinking of Reagan.
He spent over 4yrs in England and it was Wag Bennet that took him in, trained him and help him win those bodybuilding shows he dreamed of. The Bennet family and his idol, British bodybuilder, Reg Park.
+TheEwanMC Arnie spoke good English when he lived in the UK. watch footage of him. there is plenty out there. Alot of Europe and the world grow up with British TV, music etc and Europe is taught British history etc. Arnies idol was British bodybuilder Reg Park who won bodybuilding tournaments and played Hercules in movies. Arnie inspired to copy him and became friends with him and he mentored Arnie. Arnie spoke English before he even moved to the UK. Then he was there surrounded by Brits for over 4yrs.
***** Ahh, you made the classic schoolboy error of using Wikipedia. Any tool can edit wikipedia, and they often do. Like i say, just watch old footage of Arnie in the UK back in the 60's. His English was fine.
True, I trained at wag's gym, he showed me all his pics of arnold in his gym.
We in the USA are fortunate Arnold came to our country and we are very grateful for all his contributions to American society. Austria's loss was the USA's gain. Much respect to the always great Arnold Schwartzenegger :>)
He is still Austrian
@@Daniel-eg3tb yeah who wanted to leave it 🤣😂
I am an Immigrant from Germany. I love America so much. My way is the music. Arnold is a great role model for me. What a life story.
I read his biography a few years ago , quite impressive what Arnold accomplished in his lifetime ,born and raised in a small rural Austrian town , being poor ,living in a little house with no running water. He was such a determined , goal oriented individual.
I agree. His autobiography is very inspiring - better than any personal development book out there IMHO. :)
arnold, mozart and red bull. you make austria great again;-)
Don't forget Glock.
alfredo elbombo Don't forget the man of the 20th century.
Rotax, AVL, KTM
Red bull isn't Austrian.
Well actually a Austrian made Red bull, granted he took inspiration from a Thai Drink, but nonetheless a Austrian created Red Bull and it is being sold by a Austrian company also the Red bull Hq is in Austria.
Respect. Arnold made some wrong choices but he also has owned them. He did the work and I respect him for this
So much Love for Arnold... U are my childhood star.
I have so much respect for this man I wish I had half the drive and self confidence this man has
Another fantastic interview Graham.
P.S - loving the suit.
Thanks, Liam!
Good advice.
Excellent interview Graham!
What a genuine interview..his was so believable when he told how he was dreaming about go to America
there will never be another story like his. Dude worked like 18 hour days to make his dreams come true
18 hours a day bodybuilding?
You are the best interviewer ever because you let the interviewees talk and express their stories at easy.
i always loved arnold bcus i could turn my brain off and enjoy his movies, this makes me want to sit down and hang out with him so badly. his personality seems amazing.
Hollywood should make a movie from his life.
Exactly
I guess they will when he'll no longer be with us.
A movie about Schwarzenegger and Elon Musk is needed. Hollywood did a masterpiece with Mark Zuckerberg's life and could do even better with Arnold's and Elon's life as they were outsiders and it is much more interesting seeing how they got in and how they got started
His quote "I'll be back!" wasn't for Austria for sure!
booommmeerrrrrr
Ya. He said those words in America.
He ''stuck around'' in USA
He is not just an actor in his move. He is also an actor in his real life.
To many: education is a way to get to America. Thanks Arnold for being so inspirational...
This interview endears Arnold to me even more. He worked SO hard so he could come to America. Something I was born into and take for granted daily!
Arnold як завжди сильний, залізний, і йому завжди повага, оскілки він заслужений comrade :)))
Quite telling that even over 60 years on, he still subconsciously or not rejects and rebels against the role of his father even in his conception ...
That is what I felt. I'll delete my comment now and put it as a reply to yours.....
I can't help thinking that he had issues with his dad, to be able to say that he was perhaps the offspring of an American soldier, and to have left Austria behind so decisively.
It's very interesting after living in NYC for my whole life I want to move to a small human scale little European town or village
I moved from a huge suburb in Texas to Europe and I don't think I'll ever move back to America. It's only great if you are rich, but even then , everyone is an asshole. Everyone in America has an angle because you've got to constantly fight just to keep your head above water. No thanks.
Jay Tee Was it a suburb outside of Dallas?
European cities are more beautiful than american ones
I was born and raised, in larger part, in central London. I have lived 33 of my 56 years in small towns in Japan. I think I had issues with my dad!
Thanks for the long pauses between questions which allows the person to answer and be listened.
After going to América for a year, i can relate to everything he says, i want to live there some day

He still has one of the most inspiring biographies of Austrian artists.
A big country for a big man
And, now that the bastard is here, he has the audacity to say, "Screw your Freedom".
Ok, we get it, he likes BIG things.
LMAO!
so does your mom OHHHH
Yep he likes opportunities.
@EthnoEuropean's CountriesAreBeingInvaded Yes, we do.
