Mamre - Where Abraham pitched his tent!

Mamre is located on a hill on the ancient route between Hebron and Jerusalem. According to the Biblical account, Abraham pitched his tent there, under an oak tree (Gen. 13:18). There also God spoke to the Patriarch (Gen. 18:1).

Thank you..Just read about this place in the Bible (#Genesis13 also) as my interest in this region spiked up more with the unfortunate recent (on and off..on-going) conflict right now there. Praying for peace in that region

I think she mispoke, Constantine mother in law Eutropia had went there and saw that it had been turned into a pagean place she sent word to him , he had the idol(Greek god hemes I believe) destroyed and replaced it with a church
