Loved how Joshua described the difference between singing in English and Hebrew from people he has spoken with. It helped me put language to how it made me feel. I recently saw Joshua in North Carolina and had never heard someone sing in Hebrew in person and it was absolutely beautiful! It really did feel more authentic to my heart to sing in Hebrew.

"The sceptre" is a reference to the same sceptre that Moses carried, and all of the Prophets did as well. The term "Sceptre" here represents the holy power of God. And the term "Shilo" here represents the one who will hold this power for evermore. It is where the ark of the covenants "came to rest", which is the meaning of the word "Shilo". The passage from Genesis was the words of Jacob/Israel, hundreds of years before the Isralites ever came to Shilo. The Messiah is now the wielder of the sceptre, and Gods power rests with him. Just as it did with the Ark of the covenants, in Shilo.
