Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction!! See you tomorrow for Thor Love and Thunder and some surprise movies!! (Also Hocus Pocus 2 is coming just waiting for copyright to clear)
This is such a good movie. I remember when Disney World used to have a “Honey, I shrunk The Kids” themed playground. Everything was huge, therefore making the guests look small.
On another note, Rick Moranis was a really popular actor in some big films but then he disappeared for a couple of decades. Turned out his wife had died and he chose to, pretty much, give up acting to support his kids. He's supposed to be doing another movie in this franchise, but it's been delayed because of everything that's happened. Hopefully we'll get another one soon!
We ALL loved Anty - and we ALL cried when he died - lol. This is such a great movie - I wish more reactors knew about it. And don't apologize for anything. Your health comes first - always. Hugs from Canada :)
Yes, there are two sequels to this movie. One is called “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid”, and the other one is called “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves”, unfortunately even the though the cast did return for the second one; that followed after the TV show, Rick Moranis was the only one who returned for the third one.
The actress who played the mother died after the second one so they had to replace her with a new one. While the actor who played Nick, he retired from acting
35:10 Actually, the scorpion and the ant are not CGI. In the close-up shots, where they interact with the kids, they are life-sized animatronics, and in distant shots (like this one) they are stop-motion animated.
This is a classic! Rick Moranis is a great actor! He was also Barney Rubble in "The Flintstones" reaction you did previously, he just dyed his hair blond. I got so sad when I heard he had to retire when his wife died to raise his children. This movie just bring so nice childhood memories, I cried like a Magdalene when the ant died D"x!
Fun fact, there was a Disney attraction at one of the parks themed to this movie that was infamous for scaring both kids and adults with it's in-theater practical effects. It was called "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!" There was also a pretty cool playground with giant items to climb on.
I loved that show and Captain Eo!! In the honey I shrunk the audience show it's like a 4D experience so they had the dog sneezing on the audience and it got you slightly damp the chairs would shake and they even had a part where rats get loose and you can feel the tails hitting your ankles it was so freaky!!! Lol I miss it so much I don't know why they can't bring those shows back since at Disneyland that auditorium just gets used for movie previews, such a waste!
This is my favourite Disney movie. I grew up watching it and still love it today. The cast is perfect, the acting is great, the directing is so well done, the music is on point, and the sets are epic. Such a great film. I recommend watching the sequel. It's not as good, but it's still a great time. RIP to Marcia Strassman (Diane).
Here is something crazy: James Horner made the music for both this movie and Titanic. Also, I think you should watch the original Poseidon Adventure. It’s a great movie with a great John Williams soundtrack.
The Poseidon Adventure is the king of disaster films. I saw it in the theatre as a kid. I showed my 10 year old daughter and she loved it. Another great early John Williams soundtrack is The Cowboys. A great movie too.
I used to watch this so much as a kid - I loved seeing your reaction to it. The sequel 'Honey I Blew Up The Kid' has the original cast and is definitely worth checking out. Would love to see your reaction to that too.
So happy that you reacted to this classic!! Not enough youtuber react to it and I don't understand why! It's a great classic kid adventure movie from the 80's and also...it works great also for spooky season! It's kinda of a horror movie for kids! Fun fact: in one of the first drafts of the screenplay there was 5 kids instead of 4. One of them was supposed to die during the sprinkle scene. Pretty dark!!
Honey I shrunk the kids is a great movie. It's just a very funny movie, if i had to love any character it would be the dog. The way that they do the different styles of the kids seeing stuff from a bugs point of view is very amazing.
I love this franchise of shrunk series. Honey I blew up the Kid Honey i shrunk the kids And Honey we shrunk ourselves Best definition of classic movies!
What no Roger Rabbit bonus? 😂 the 📼 used to have that for starters. What kills me is that “Nicky” from this was in Edward Scissorhands and it took me years to realize that.
I watched this movie all the time as a kid, but now every time I see this it just freaks me out and sends me into a childhood-represented panic 😂 Loved your reaction though!
Mental health is always important first man!!!! I just went thru the same thing currently trying to bounce back now .. one thing we have to remember is our mental health comes first! keep doing ya thing man…. It’s bout time for us to collab
The dad is a nerd. The neighbor is into sports so it is not surprising at all that he figured out the kids were giving them the clue of baseball. They enlarged the dog's bone as a reward for saving the kids.
I loved your reaction to this, it was definitely one of my favorites growing up! I wish you would do the 'Burbs it also came out in 1989 and has Tom Hanks in it. It's definitely a little creepy so it would be great for spooky season 🙂 And thinking about all those Wizard of Oz references you missed your whole life makes me laugh, now you know why everyone's not in Kansas anymore lol 🤣
You have at least HEARD Matt Frewer (the other father) before as the voice of Panic - the blue demon henchman - in Disney's Hercules. He's had a long and varied career too, most famously playing a satirical "computer generated" (really him with makeup) character called Max Headroom.
One of my childhood films! =D There are two sequels to this movie. "Honey I Blew UP the Kid" (which is actually good) and "Honey We Shrunk Ourselves" which was straight to video and okay. =)
Great movie. I remember being taken to see this movie as a kid. When we arrived at the theater it was packed. I've never seen a multiplex so busy in my life. Every showing of this movie was sold out all day and we had to come back the following weekend. This movie was big deal at the time. Also, I didn't get the french class joke either.
Wow man! This is my favorite movie reaction channel by a mile!!!! Its like im watching a movie with a good friend, plus your reactions are so real, authentic. I love it! Thanks brother!
Great to have you back and great job on this classic! There’re 2 more sequels, Honey I Blew Up The Kid and Honey We Shrunk Ourselves. There was a TV show before the second film called Honey I Shrunk the Kids the TV Series; it had episodes with different inventions that Wayne would invent. If you love Rick Moranis, I recommend his other films; Little Giants, Big Bully, and Space Balls. 👨🏻🔬👩🏼🦱👱🏻♂️👱🏻🧑🏻🦱🐜🦂💙❤️🤍🖤
This was released in the summer of 89. That was the summer of Rick Moranis. He had 3 big movies out that Summer, Ghostbusters II, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Parenthood. He plays 3 completely different characters. All 3 were big hits. Rick starred in 3 out of the top 10 highest grossing movies of 1989. There were a lot of great movies that came out that summer. You should check out Parenthood an excellent drama-comedy about life. It also stars Steve Martin and directed by Ron Howard. As eh Canadian I can tell you we worship Rick Moranis. We worship the entire cast of SCTV. The cast was the best thing that ever came out of Canada. In the early 80s we had a parade for Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas on Yonge St. in Toronto. If your Canadian you know why eh. Now take off eh!
Sad fact: Rick Moranis is not acting anymore (for now anyways) because his wife unfortunately passed away a while back. Not sure how she died, but all I know is that Rick decided to take a break from acting so he can take care of his kids.
I saw this movie in theaters and fun fact, right before the movie they had a Roger Rabbit cartoon lol. It was a pleasant surprise. As amazing as this movie was boy did it freak me out a lot of times and yes I cried when the baby ant died.
Thank you so much for making this one, I've been dealing with a fever and feeling rotten and when I was little this was one of my sick day movies, so sincerely thank you it really perked me up.
Definitely one of my movie favorites from my early teen years, and boy did i watch this movie alot... not to mention I had (still do) one hell of a crush on Amy. The sequels fine but personally found it not quite as good (Amys only in it for a minute damn it), never seen the 3rd, hell never knew there was a 3rd until reading the comments here lol. Plus I also think you should watch honey we shrunk ourselves that’s another good one Even though it was like more of a horror movie kind of just like honey I blew up the kid
I recommend you : White Dog 1982 The film depicts the struggle of a dog trainer named Keys, who is black, trying to retrain a stray dog found by a young actress, that is a "white dog"-a dog trained to make vicious attacks upon, and to kill, any black person. The film as a platform to deliver a message against racism as it examines the question of whether racism is a treatable problem or an incurable condition.
I've always felt that the neighbor father was meant to be for Jim Carrey but they couldn't get him. But they found a man who can do a spot on impression
there are two more if you wanted to watch them "Honey, I blew up the baby" and "Honey, we shrunk our selfs" I don't remember witch one was first- but I enjoyed both of them growing up
I haven't seen this movie in ages!! Brings back memories, check out the sequel, Honey I Blew Up The Kid. Yes most of the same people in this one return.
hah a childhood classic, a fun concept and the other versions and sequels are as fun, honey i shrunk the kids again, honey i blew up the baby etc. Definitely recommend them eventually Rick Moranis has a fun goofball charm
Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the reaction!! See you tomorrow for Thor Love and Thunder and some surprise movies!! (Also Hocus Pocus 2 is coming just waiting for copyright to clear)
What’s the surprise movie
Exciting!!!!
Halloweentown
Thor:Love and Thunder is a great movie.
Is the surprise movie John Wick?
This is the definition of a classic. Ricky Moranis brought his A-game with this. And never before or since have I felt so sad for an ant.
Rick Moranis is the definition of a real man. He gave up fame and fortune to take care of his kids after his wife died.
Not even for Ant-thony from "Ant-Man"? 🙂🐜
Let us not forget Ant-thony
This is such a good movie. I remember when Disney World used to have a “Honey, I shrunk The Kids” themed playground. Everything was huge, therefore making the guests look small.
Yes!! I remember playing on that playground, so fun!

I used to watch this constantly as a kid. I'm in my mid-30s now and completely forgot about that whole animated credits sequence. Crazy.
"Honey I Shrunk The Kids" is yet another one of my all time favorite films! it's another absolute classic!!!

@@lylelylecrocodile2538 No. Blew Up as in he kept getting bigger, not blown to bits!

The greatest thing about this movie though, is all the detail they went into making the small world as close to realistic as possible, the grass, the dirt, the animals all look like they would at that scale... hairy, moist, plant cells/ridges/spins, insect carapaces etc
Most of all though is the fact they made the water more viscus compared to normal, its got a slight gel quality to it which people might not notice... unfortunately they didnt go far enough with that (technical limitations obviously), since at their size water is ALOT different than what it is like for us 'giants'.
