That a father in law puts his arm around his daughter in law or holds her had or hugs her certainly does NOT seem odd to the wider world! I don’t know where the creator of this video lives but in laws become family so nothing at all seems weird by his actions.
These westerners can't understand the value of real love. They have a particular day in a year, when they thank their own p. We respect, love and thank them in our hearts every moment.
How beautiful Bhutan's Royal Family is. Their country is spectacular. Their shared values throughout their Kingdom is so wonderfully peaceful and loving. What a world we would have if everybody chose to work together for the well-being of their families, shared faith and valued traditions. Something other countries and their people should want to aspire to achieve.
This is the most beautiful country in the world today, not just the in physical world but in spiritual values peace and harmony relationships no other country has. Please keep this going don’t change to be like the other. ❤
As an Indian they are best n most peaceful neighbors, truly a nation blessed by Gods… if only rest of the World could learn from Bhutan about peace, respect n harmony
A hug, holding hands, arm around family members… nothing shocking about that. I’m part Hawaiian and it is a custom to greet with a kiss and hug friends and family at gatherings. To It’s just a way of acknowledging kinships… When my family attends a family/close friend party ; depending on the crowd size, we were taught to kiss everyone when we arrive and depart; especially the Kupunas( elderly). It’s a show of respect and love.
Bhutan's tradition and culture have so many great values . who have right to explains.criticise or jugde only about Bhutan's kings Royal familie life.,we know Bhutan is one of the beautiful country with so many great values on the world.,we wishes tipple gem's protect bhuthan.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.,
Our Bhutan is very beautiful country in this world as compared to others. Most of they they are feeling jealous of us.There is nothing weird in this portrait. It's symbolizes his love and affection towards family's
Haldings hands, or hugging or put the arms around their love once is common in all the Asian countries. Im from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. And yes we values that here as well... its a way of showing love and respect for each other.
He is her husband’s father.. That is mean she is his daughter too.. I think this is fine in any culture. My daughter’s husband is my son.. Happy Holidays everyone
Wow, this UA-cam channel seriously needs to get a life. Twisting a simple and respectful gesture into something controversial is just pathetic. Instead of spreading misinformation and trying to create drama, maybe take some time to learn and appreciate Bhutanese culture. It's built on respect, decency, and common sense-something the world could use more of. What's so weird about a father-in-law putting his arm around his daughter-in-law? This is a normal and respectful gesture in many cultures, including Bhutan. I think what Bhutan does is rooted in common sense and decency, and everyone should take the time to understand and appreciate it. Unlike in some Western cultures, where boundaries within families are often blurred, sometimes to the point of crossing into shameful or inappropriate behavior, Bhutanese culture maintains clear, respectful traditions that uphold dignity and family values. In some cases, Western norms can lead to behavior that disregards basic family respect, which can be unsettling to those with more grounded traditions. Bhutan's culture is based on mutual respect, understanding, and a deep sense of community. It’s something the world could learn from-a way of life that values decency and harmony over chaos and misunderstanding.
To preserve your culture and staying away from western influence is a huge respect. Western culture especially today's generation is not desirable and even destructive to family values and bond and to faith as well.
Don’t be so Sq - it’s nothing wrong with it . After all this royalty are a close nit royal family . I admired their love for each other compare to other countries royalty.. their try to tear each other apart n internal conflicts … Nothing to insinuate about the family photo shoot… respect pls !
I respect Bhutan and their way of life. Just for perspective: population is cca. 800,000. Fertility rate: 1.4 children/woman. GDP per capita: about 3,700 USD (in 2020).
That's right,don't think the:Ex:King would b disrespectful*Btw the new:King can hav his wife's sister(but he didn't accept)He remains faithful 2his present wife*❤❤
I wish we stayed this way in our country the Philippines because we had beautiful different tribal clothing and amazing culture but due to colonial influence from Spain and American plus influence from other countries like China and India you'll never know who is pure Filipino or I guess there is no pure blooded Filipino now. We are indeed a melting pot of Asia, as well as melting our own culture.
Sorry, madam , you explain wrong about the Bhutan because Bhutan is not beween china and India . The Bhutan is beween Tibet and India. I hope that you stop misusing our history and stop lie.
Kissing mouth to mouth in public is fine for you but a father-in-law putting a hand on daughter-in-law's shoulder looks weird? They aren't weird, you are weird.
Salute to the king of Bhutan by preserving the culture and embracing the modern principle with balance. And giving importance to social happiness than GDP is admirable. And look at those traditional clothes until now and no western clothing is awesome!
I do not understand why you keep mentioning that the physical closeness is strange to outsiders. I find nothing odd or offensive about touching your adult child or others. My Anglo father was not warm but he grew up w/o a mother. My latin mother y family was very warm, touchy. Nothing wrong with either.
Just for the contain don’t narrate in the negative view on this image, everyone respect this country and the peace and stability. I hope author will narrate in positive way later, however thanks for your video .
At first I enjoyed watching it...but then they emphasize that this king ( he looks very humorous and peacefull! ) married four sisters - so what? It's said again and again and again. It reminds me of the American arrogance of thinking all people have to be like Americans.... disgusting.
No bro no the 4th king is happy to see her first time to meet queen when the king married why are you telling as that 4th king is weird ah shame to you 😡😡😡🤬
The title is misleading and its wrong to send this kinda message to other world. Who the the hell are you send this kinda negative thing to outside world
If you divorce and marry a separate woman, that helps prevent bad arguments and conflicts caused by the sister of (your ex wife) who may have less morality, accumulate too much power and was greedy in the first place. Your Bhutan culture in terms of marrying sisters of your wife is wrong and backwards. If the innocent and kind niece gets bullied or looks very beautiful, she can end up getting abused and bullied by certain aunts or uncles of the same family because they tend support each other and are biased. Even certain outsiders may get supported incorrectly by the sister of your mother. So in reality, stop making false ignorant reasoning without the actual experiences yourself to test out obvious problems that may occur out of polygamy or monogamy. If the stepmother is not related to the mother, that is mentally and physically more healthy; they do not have the chance to be in cahoots with each other and scheme and bully the young niece who uses the same surname as the father.
Theres no such thing like this video is trying to show. He treats her like his daughter and they are pure ones unlike the author of this video and his family who seems to be coming from some messed up society. 😡
Daughter-in-law is not different than his own daughter, it’s just a gesture to show his fatherly affection to his daughter-in-law.
That a father in law puts his arm around his daughter in law or holds her had or hugs her certainly does NOT seem odd to the wider world! I don’t know where the creator of this video lives but in laws become family so nothing at all seems weird by his actions.
😊 I know right.
He accepts her as his daughter or daughter in law
@ Exactly! She is Family!
For many asian countries...this is normal ....the title is misleading
Its acceptable in Asia . I’m asian and grew up with so many relatives. We are hugging and helping its other.
It's keeping his arm around her shoulder to show care. That's it. Nothing bizarre. Be careful on how you narrate the tradition.
True 👍🙏💐

It’s debatable whether TV or Internet adds to quality of life
Hope the middle east can adopt this wisdom... Not just rules from religion without passion and respect..certainly will be no war and chaos there...
No it seems quite normal to hold hands and hug family and even strangers in greeting here in England
To preserve your culture and staying away from western influence is a huge respect. Western culture especially today's generation is not desirable and even destructive to family values and bond and to faith as well.

Bhutan is in between Tibet and India not China. China is at least 1000 Km away.
"Tibet is internationally recognized as part of China." - says Wiki
ท่าน..ทำซ้ำได้ถ้าต้องการ...อนุญาต..ครับ❤🎉😊
I am not surprised atall....
West can see everything through a physical angle only. Most of us in Asia looks at relationships spiritually.
I respect Bhutan and their way of life. Just for perspective: population is cca. 800,000. Fertility rate: 1.4 children/woman. GDP per capita: about 3,700 USD (in 2020).

Kissing mouth to mouth in public is fine for you but a father-in-law putting a hand on daughter-in-law's shoulder looks weird? They aren't weird, you are weird.
Life is unfair and so are customs. Women put up with all these things to survive.
I just reported your inappropriate video

It's said again and again and again. It reminds me of the American arrogance of thinking all people have to be like Americans.... disgusting.
Nepal also is 95 percent hindu
Because of isolation and geographical location
No bro no the 4th king is happy to see her first time to meet queen when the king married why are you telling as that 4th king is weird ah shame to you 😡😡😡🤬
The creator is anti-Bhutanese and is part of the 1990s Nepali who were expelled from Bhutan
Marry thier sister? That' something odd .as a tradition.
