For those who want to serve a whole chicken, family-style, on the dining table, it sucks pretty hard. For those who immediately debone it, it may help with that. The texture takes a little hit from being steamed in the bag for too long, though. I'd also like to know whether the relative levels of phthalates in the packaging were considered.
The truth is that it’s much cheaper for Costco to use these flimsy bags. I bought one with this new bag and when I opened the bag the chicken was wet and slimy, just gross. 🤮 The chicken won’t bring me into Costco as often as before. 😢
Agreed. Costco sucks now. Another way for them to get cheaper. Their clothes are awful now; book selection is worse; hot dogs went from hebrew national to kirkland crap; they eliminated combo pizza; their food kiosk is awful... since they have bought out so many competitors cutting quality has become the way to raise profits
People wouldn't be people if there weren't a bunch of 'em being whiny bitches about things. Got one in a bag for the first time the other day. Weighed the same as others. Just brought it home and it fit perfectly in my marinating tupperware container. No biggie.
I work in the chicken room. Theyre absolutely doing it because its easier to mass produce. They claim the bags to use less plastic but the bags arent even recyclable. Requires more work people for the job too! (Dont expect them to provide for their workers though, the chicken room is a brutal place)
i hate how filthy the bags are too. Im guessing because it's much more difficult to slide in the chicken in the bag right? whenever i pick them up, it's often covered in chicken juice and fat, and the bottom on the outside is all dirty too, so i need to always bag it. Is it all because you can no longer slide them in like plastic trays? the bag being all greasy on top is annoying
Yes, and when I saw it, I immediately noticed that it was much smaller than the previous ones. Of course they do for many. And it's not about polluting the environment. And stupid people believe everything that someone puts in their ears. They only care about putting small-weight chickens into the bag. Anyone who bought them before noticed perfectly well that they are much smaller. You can see right away that they are much smaller than the previous ones in plastic containers. Afterwards, this chicken is damaged, cracked, and some of the skin is torn off because the employees simply can't pack it. I prefer to buy cut, raw chicken for 0.89-0.99 and a pound for 3-4 dollars a package and prepare it without salt and chemicals. I'm already tired of this scam. Wherever we go, we'll be F..
I hate the plastic bag! Now you have to remove the chicken entirely from the bag in order to be able to cut a few slices of breast meat to make sandwich. Not convenient at all and also, the chicken does not seem to have the same juicy texture as before. I was all around discouraged with their new tactics. Definitely no longer be buying it!
Hate plastic bags. Some other companies have gone plastic bags and they do not protect your purchase on the way home. It gets disjointed and ugly. Best value in the store and the fools are ruining it.
Not acceptable. It changes the chicken completely. Two choices: 1. Don't buy the costco chicken. 2. Return the chicken on your way out after buying it or return it on your next visit for a refund. They can't resell it. Either way, the original plastic case will return.
What I think is that with more of the chicken in contact with the plastic bag, you’ll be eating far more of the plastic than the hard shell container where there are fewer points of contact. Obviously two different chemical compositions . Not everything is about less. It’s about health. If you save the plastic use now, will you be ensuring that you’ll need medical plastics later if this is toxic? Think
I didn't like the hard plastic, I actually prefer the new plastic grab and go bag. I don't burn myself anymore when I enter the mob of people sticking their hands into the warmer to get a chicken. 😂

The new plastic container is much better, it can be microwave safe,& you don’t need Ziplock to mashed the chicken to remove the bones., & transfer the meat into a Pyrex container & discard the plastic -much cleaner & meat is safer .
I vote for the hard plastic.
You said hard huhuhuhuhuh (Beavis and Butt-Head voice)
When you go to Taco Bell, do you say crunchy tacos or hard tacos?
Me too

Yall acting like you buying premium chicken and deserve premium packaging LOL
It's cheap stop complaining.
It's cheap because they sell it at a loss

Time to shop at a new rotisserie chicken store!! At $ 18.00 let me know how that works for y’all.
I don’t know about the rest of you but, the chicken in a bag I got last week was (no exaggeration) HALF THE SIZE of the last one I bought.

We just bought one today and it was so scrawny, we barely got any meat off of it. It was nothing like the previous ones.
Sounds like they're using that as an excuse to cut costs...
Idk why you would complain about them cutting costs, do you want the chicken to cost more?
Imagine complaining about a whole $5 rotisserie chicken
Why is that so bad? Cutting cost keeps ot cheap besides the rest of the world uses that bag Americans are just hard of chnage in my opinion

If you don't want to buy the chicken that's fine. But to purposely buy it just to return it makes you a douche. Just suggesting it makes you a douche.
the bags suck...it's all leaky and disgusting on the bottom too on the outside
Shop elsewhere for 4.99 chicken no one’s forcing you to buy Costco 🤷🏻
Yeah no… the microplastics from the heated bags are hormone disruptors that create numerous health issues down the road….

That is a great point. Bags being soft have to have more solvents.
Thats your choice at $16.99 at a rotisserie chicken restaurant.
I am not renewing

I never eat that chicken. It’s pumped full of sodium phosphate and carrageenan. Probably better to avoid for your health.
Im going to sams club for rotisserie chicken now
In this new world we have to make sacrifices,so let the chickens juice fly.
New packaging sucks
Chicken juice would still leak out of the hard containers, I'm not complaining, it's whatevs.
I like the bags
👍
Cry me a river
less plastic. plastics in everything is a real environmental crisis that we need to to more about or we're all in serious trouble.
Nobody is personally responsible while there are massive oil tankers that use 10x your lifetime emissions output in 1 min of running. Stop fooling yourself
Environment? Personally I care more about ingesting a credit card of plastic every week, rather than the seas turtles. But maybe I’m selfish..
@@mikemugs7 who said anything about sea turtles? Plastic particles are in everything. every drink you take, most of your food. It's in everything.

Prefer the bag to be honest. No spillage in the car with the bag.The hard plastic was too easy to come loose.
