Thank you so much for doing this video! I found your wife's post on the switchback Facebook page
Thanks for checking the video out.
I don't even own a switchback and I found this video informative. I plan to buy one one day. Keep up the good videos.
Thank you, and thanks for the support.
thank you for doing the video ,i have just purchased a switchback and boy is it hard to get bits & pieces , i am in Australia so dont have access to parts so im searching the net for anything that can help me with my project , well done Great job man !!
Thanks, I will be doing more videos on the switch back as it’s upgraded more. If you have thoughts of what you’d like to see in a video let me know, any ideas are helpful.
I won one of those Street Bob bikes that comes with one seat (lol). I bought a Batwing fairing, hard bags, 2 up seat, switched out the rear suspension to air rides, front fork springs, an Amazon tour bag, SE 255 cams, Road Rage 2 exhaust, etc. I now have a light weight bike that’s a pretty good bike that will go on touring rides. Built this for Pennie’s on the dollar!
The Dyna bikes rock
Did you have to get a custom-fabbed mounting bracket for the tour pack, like described in the video, or did you find one online somewhere? Any details appreciated - Thanks
@rpilling1 yes actually, I did have to have a custom fabricated mount for the tour pack. I had that description linked in the video below, but I have recently found out that the guy is no longer making them or does it wish to be linked in this video because I can’t get a hold of him anymore. I can’t even find the guy social media page anymore so I don’t know if he’s even doing them any longer.
I bought a Harley Quick Release and back rest/rack, eliminated the back rest and securely mounted it to the rack. Wish I could post pictures of it to share
@elwaupo1 I’d love to see the pictures of it.
Baought a 2015 Switchback in Aug of '23, and within a couple months the buyer's remorse set in... Love it on some levels, but the parts/accessoies LACK OF is really bothering me, to the point I have to admit to myself "I bought the WRONG motorcycle" Thanks for the video, gives me a glimmer of hope I can upgrade this thing. I REALLY want "regular sized" bags, and finally ordered some leather-look hard bags from Viking, awaiting their arrival. Seems an HD is always "a work in progress"....
That turned out great.
Thanks man.
looks like a great mounting system! It's proving difficult to find something similar ( one piece detachable) for A late model Dyna..
To be honest with you, I have never found another one piece designed for the dyna models. This unit has served my wife perfectly for the last year with zero issues. As a matter of fact, originally, my wife wanted it detachable because she wasn't sure if she wanted to keep it on her motorcycle, she wanted it for the extra room when we traveled but after this past riding season She's never taken it off. She really enjoys having it on the bike because of its use and the style it adds to her motorcycle.
@@bigshow65 do you know if those docking plates can fit to a dyna? It'd be great to have a 2nd set of hardware to not stick the bags way out. Even if I do have to have a custom piece made haha.
This one piece docking unit is custom and it is for the dyna models. The motorcycle in the video is A FLD Dyna switchback.
I linked the information to the guy who built these units in the video description. Check him out, I found him on Facebook. He's a decent guy who makes a good product..
Ya man this is sweet, you should put a jit together & sell
I'd get one
I run a detachable back rest & put a soft sissy bar bag on, it's big, holds a fuck load & actually works as a backrest for me but then i cant have a passenger but it's uuuuugly
that's one nice look'n switchback
Thank you, my wife loves it.
It's a great bike.
Anyway, of hooking me up with the guy contact information who made you the bracket for the tour pack?
before I made this video I spoke to the gentleman to get his consent to add his contact information in the description below on the video but I’ve realized in the last year he must’ve stopped making these parts or was being bothered too much Because no one can get a hold of him and I’ve recently reached out to him to see if he still makes this bracket and I can’t even get a hold of the Guy anymore. I am very sorry but as of now I have no information, if that were to change in the near future then I’ll get back to you asap.
it looks amazing this video help alot thanks
Thank you, and thank you for checking out my video and for your support of my channel.
hey by any chance u have the measurements for it bc I look n look for it n no luck im from waukegan not to far from u
Good stuff sir - Thank you! , I have 2012 switchback fld. Do you know where I can buy a bracket for the saddle bags?
Thank you! And honestly I’d check a Harley dealership, mine has a lot of parts stocked for the FLD’s
I need that shirt bro!
Rachel can make you one, I'll ask her but she'll need to know your size.
You know I'll make you one! Just let me know :)
Where did you get that mounting bracket for that tour pack I want to put a tour pack on my switchback
I got it from John koolhoven from a switchback page on Facebook. But I also linked his info in the video description.
I need the same thing for my switch back
The link for the tour pack mount doesnt work. Can you help me get in touch?
Go to Facebook and search for John coolhoven. I found him on a dyna switchback group. he's the one that makes that mount
The link appears to be dead for the mount. Is it possible to update?
I'm sorry but I think he closed up shop. I can't get a response out of him, and I don't know if he still makes these mounts or not.
Dyna Limited or Ultra Switchback? Looks awesome either way! Great job!
Is it spring yet?
I like ultra switchback.
I have officially changed my mind...it shall be called the Dyna Limited
@@bigshow65 Nice! Just need the lowers. Hahaha
6foot 300lbs dude here, is Switchback going to make me feel cramped? Getting mixed info researching.
6' and 300 pounds, you're going to feel cramped on that motorcycle. 55 to 58 is probably a comfortable height for that motorcycle.
@@bigshow65 appreciate it sir! Glad I got the answer before going to look at one! Lol
I can't even find saddlebag lid protectors (except hogwerkz). A lot of discontinued pn's though 🤬
These bikes are hard to find things for. Most of the time I have to make things fit.
I have a 13 switchback and would love the info of the guy who made the bracket. I don't have facebook. Thanks
i linked it in to tour pack video, but his name is John Koolhoven and i found him on a dyna switchback group on facebook
Which tour pack is this?
It was one I found on Amazon. amzn.to/3SJhsJ3
Where did you get the bracket to mount the tour pack
I found a guy by the name of John koolhoven in a switchback group on Facebook.
Thank you for the video.
I just purchased a 2016 Switchback with the 103HO 700miles on it.
I want to do this exact thing to mine.
No problem. The switchback is a very versatile yet underrated motorcycle. My wife really wants a streetglide but she's very short and this is as close as she can get. Thanks for checking out the video and for your comment.
how do i get one of the quick release brackets? i have had no luck contacting the guy who made yours
To be honest the guy I got it from only made a handful a year and he took pre-orders based on the interest of those in that switchback Facebook group. My wife and I waited 6 months before we were able to order ours. My only advice is keep messaging him, he will make more.
It still making the quick detachable for tour pack would mind let know if I can order the that can you send me the number thank you
Can u tell me the brand of the tour pack.... and did u install a metal plate with the tour pack. I bought the same mounting bracket from Joe, but can't find the right pack to fit it
This Is the exact tour pack I ordered from Amazon and installed on her motorcycle.
And no I did not install the metal plate because quite honestly if you look at the mounting bracket it is completely solid at least mine was.

Where did u get the bracket made and how to get the 4 point dock kit
The guy who made the bracket is John koolhoven. There is a link to him on Facebook in the description of this video, all you have to do is click on it, it'll take a straight to him. The 4 point docking kit I bought straight off Harley Davidson's website and had it shipped to my house.
Hi Bro , i just bought a dyna switchback 2016, I’m really looking for a detach bracket, please if you help me find this bracket and let me know where i can buy this, would be really appreciate thanks 🙏
I’m from Switzerland 🇨🇭
You're talking about the quick release bracket for your tour pack correct? I got it from a guy on a Facebook dyna switchback group, his name was John koolhoven.
Here is a link to the guy who makes them.

Bro I need that info I've been trying to put a tour pack on my switchback
Unfortunately the guy who made the quick detach mount for the switchback removed his information from facebook and I have no way of getting hold of him.
Can one from a 2014 road glide work??
No, one from a 2014 roadglide would not work. It has a totally different set of dimensions than a switchback.
I’m from Rockford. Where are you from?
I am up by Beloit/south Beloit area
Thank you. Can you share the information on who made the rack?
I would love that info as well. I am not on Facebook!!
I have to make sure it's ok with him first then I will get you his information.
@@bigshow65 thanks!
@@jimjacobsen9963 no problem
The man that made the mounting bracket is John koolhoven and I him found in a dyna switchback group on Facebook.

Have you seen anyone use the quick detach mount that comes with the packs for harleys?
Not a switchback because it's to narrow and won't fit. That's why I had the quick release mount made.
New subscriber here! Great informational video and the bike looks great. Thank you!
Thank you, I am glad you like the video, and thank you for your support of my channel.
@@bigshow65 You're welcome!
bro ...do u have a tour pack liner
No I do not.
I have been wanting to add it but there are other things I have planned on doing first.
Its about time someone made accessories for a switchback
