Here is how I like to make my metallic gold paint for cake decorating, chocolates, and other baking decorations! #shorts #ediblegold #baking #chocolate #brittneekay
Painting chocolate is my next project ☺️ I’ve only tried it on strawberries and I used Vodka…apparently it didn’t evaporate as I had thought it would…hick 🥴🥴🥴 I will try lemon extract on chocolate 😌
No, there is really only so much you can do with edibile gold luster! If you want it to be shiny I suggest "metallic" cocoa butter applied to a shiny surface like a mold or acetate sheets!
It will leave a sticky finish if you use sugar but if that doesn’t bother you you can use whatever you’d like. Extracts evaporate and leave just the dust behind 🙂
Yes this can be used with couverture chocolate, but any decorations involving alcohol should be applied on the mold and let dry before molding or directly on the chocolate, which will then also dry, never mixed into the melted chocolate.
Almond extract doesn't have the same high alcohol content so doesn't evaporate. You can use it but it tends to stay thick and wet and dries sticky. If you don't want to use almond you can use vodka or everclear.

Nice but it looks grainy to me, do u know of a method which would result in a smooth glossy finish?

Can't a simple sugar syrup made at home be used rather than extract?

@@louannepullen9862 awesome!!
👌
Thanks!
Can that be used with couverture chocolate ? Or only oil base paint with cocoa butter?

Спасибо, как всегда на высоте.

Can I use clear vanilla extract?
You can but it won't evaporate as quickly as lemon and I find extracts like almond and vanilla leave the paint sticky
Does it work with regular color powders to make any colored paint?
Yep!! You can use any colored powder!
What kind of gold powder do you use?
I like PCB Creations or Fancy Sprinkles!

Doesn’t it make the item you paint taste like lemon?
You may be able to taste it a little bit but not much! You can also use vodka and that will be flavorless once evaporated!
Could I use tequila as an option?
I think it would work but may have more of a taste!
