Lions is a SLOWWWWWW round. If you go there, you are saying you want a 5 or 6 hour round for no reason at all... Clay is more of a woods type course, while Kizer is more Links golf with open fairways. Never been to Avery Ranch or GreyRock, but I hear they are nicer (at least more expensive from what I see). Riverside is a good course, but they have drainage issues, so DO NOT go there after it rains and be prepared for "weekend golf" where the rounds are slower than average on the weekend. If you want a course that doesn't get overly crowded, Harvey Pennick is good, although its only nine holes and sometimes is closed for other events. Finally, theres Hanncock... The course is good for beginners, but its a nine hole course with no tee times and theres not really anyone who enforces pace of play. Because of this, it can take upwards of 3-3 and a half hours for nine holes if you go at the wrong time just because theres old guys who can barely walk or theres new players who know zero golf etiquette. The number one too box also gets backed up if you go at the busy time (from sunrise until 9:30 or so)
Whats your top 5
1:04 has Bermuda grass greens and it’s putting green surfaces are eagle grass. Which is it my man?
You lost me at "Gary Rock"
Feel free to watch those then. Cheers
@@parfessor not a very good video if you can’t read the name of the course correctly.
Not from there. You gonna relax. Its a game of misses. Nice linkdin pic, what do you sell?
Haven’t lived there for a while, but unless things have changed dramatically, your list is pretty much a whiff, other than Avery Ranch. Places like Grey Rock (Circle C), Falconhead, Wolfdancer, Star Ranch, Forest Creek, or even Terra Vista (used to be a Troon course)far outshine your choices. May want to take another look. If you can swing it, a stay at Barton Creek will get you access to some of the best golf anywhere.
Whats ur top 5
I will give you what they were when I lived there several years ago. Not really sure if it would still be that way now. 1. Star Ranch, 2. Forest Creek 3. Falconhead, 4. Wolfdancer, 5. Terra Vista.
Its best that someone from Austin actually do the list. This was bad. Star Ranch, Forest Creek, Kissing Tree, Woldancer, Falconhead are all levels above the ones you listed
Golf a game of misses, whata ur top 5
Wow, can't believe you're rating Jimmy Clay as the No.3 public golf course - 97% golfers in Austin is trying to avoid this course right now :-)

Star Ranch is #1 and it’s not close.

Lions is the worst of the muni's (ATX). Nothing but rocks and gravel lining the sides of the fairways. If you want to scrape up your clubs, Lions is the one for you. Jimmy Clay and Roy Kizer also belong to ATX. As of this writing they are having their greens completely re-done are only offering temporary greens until mid-August 2024. The two are great courses and relatively cheap, but they are not better than Grey Rock or Avery Ranch. Grey Rock is amazing, albeit an easier play. Avery Ranch is a great challenge but not as great a challenge as The Bandit in New Braunfels to the south.
Whats ur top 5
Fuck the Bandit, I hate that course and hole 13 (I think) is one of the stupidest holes I’ve ever played.
Vaaler Creek clears that easily.
AR GC runs shit
