  • Performed by Nathan Daughtrey (marimba) & Bob Faub (alto saxophone)
Published by C. Alan Publications (c-alanpublicati...)
    Instrumentation:
    Alto Saxophone
    5-octave Marimba
    Program Notes:
"Burn" was commissioned by Robert Faub for performance at the 2016 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference at Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX). The idea for the piece simply came from the title and the myriad of ways a fire can burn. What results is a perpetual motion tour-de-force work for both players.

Seems the thing that pairs with my soul instrument the most is the sax

Bob says he was using a Vandoren AL3 mouthpiece, a Vandoren M/O series ligature, and Vandoren #3 classical reeds.

The score is notated in concert pitch, not transposed pitch. The individual alto saxophone part is transposed up a major 6th.
