I have already shoot 54 great 360 panos. But I cannot find the Action Producers download for my MacBook Pro. To move forward with my clients....who are waiting on me. Question, I have owned the 360 for about 4 years. It's not my EDC, but I will use it a few times a year. Lately it seems to be not as sharp as before. It has been sitting un-pluged for about a year, If the battery goes dead, dead for that time, does the ca360 settings go to default ? In your opinion, for 360, what would be the best all around settings ? Plus, can the settings be done via computer ?
Cool camera but the stills are half the resolution of the old gear 360, so to upgrade you will gain a bit more resolution in the video and as mentioned the very handy live stream.
I live in Phoenix and have had this out in 115 degree heat. In direct sunlight at that temp it overheats in 10 or so mins. In the shade it kept going for about 30 mins. My S8 phone is 3 mins and 20 mins at those same temps. TL;DR: It is difficult to overheat this camera in normal use.
Great video! Just bought the 2017 model myself and beginning to get the hang of it. Having previously used the LG 360 I've already noticed the image quality and the general aesthetic and build quality is clearly more advanced. The lack of a youtube/facebook live feature for iOS is a bit frustrating at the moment, so I look forward to when that becomes available. At this price point it is really tough to beat this 360 camera. Thanks for the review and tutorial!

Apparently Samsung's QC is very lacking. I just got a Note 8 with a bonus Gear 360 2017. The darn thing was DOA, have spent many hours on Samsung's customer support before finally getting the message it will be some time before it is replaced, there is an epidemic of this problem. Funny when I told one of the several tech support people I spoke with it was DOA, he said what does that mean!

I'm not very familiar with my cool new camera as I finally got delivery, took three receipt copies and a few phone calls and e-mails to get verizon promotions to comprehend that we bought two note 8 phones. My wife picked the wireless charger and I picked the camera. Both promotions were free with trade in of our note 4s. So far we are very happy getting the charger, (with new type 256GB samsung micro card and the new version gear 360 camera. Especially since they were free. I now look forward to using the camera for several purposes, including surveillance. I think it's a great camera at it's average price. And setup was easy.
Great review. Just toured UK and found it great for all our memories from dark country churches to recording on the London Eye. Another bonus of the rubber ring which is a cool design aspect if planned is the ability to 'rest' the camera laying down with a lense laid down in the ring while charging.
So this gear 360 from his hand is 1 version, but about the tripod one? This one is mostly good for selfies and such, well, i can see you can put a tripod too, but it will be with the handle, not only with the eye. So what are the differences? The eye only seems to be cheaper, but the tripod and handle will make it more expensive? and the one with the handle is more expensive, but you can buy a tripod and be at the same price range like the eye + tripod? Which version you think it's better?
you are so right, i love the camera however the seem line video shift is terrible. I did a time-laps of the Empier State building lights coming on and the damn camera video started moving in the time-laps. 6 MONTHS LATER AND THEY DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING LOL

Hey guys does anyone know what the bitrate of the gear360 4k spherical videos are. For example the Gopro max 5.6k spherical bitrate is 78Mbps I believe. I swear some of the videos I take with my brand new gopro max are blurring than my old gear 360 2017 even though it was only 4k spherical
I just received a brand new in the box Samsung gear 360 2017 camera. I realize this is 2021 almost 22 and I was hoping you could help me with something. It seems that Samsung has discontinued the gear 360 app and now I'm wondering if you could recommend an app that would work well with this camera. Not much to choose from but if you have any ideas I would appreciate that. And by the way, seeing Sydney harbor again makes me want to go back. One of the coolest places I ever visited. 🤙

I have crazy, like very crazy idea / question - you called this camera - robopenis, ok, fair enough, what if you put on the cam... condom and try to record underwater 360 video? Ok now be kind I am a complete novice with a simple question can I just use this as a camera and watch or view photos and footage on my I3 processor laptop, to be honest I won the 360 gear pro in a competition and have a really old phone and really do not want to get a new phone just to use this camera. P.s excellent video and review, just wanted to be sure I will be ok using it as a stand alone camera that I watch via my laptop
Have you had any luck streaming 360 to a page you admin versus a personal page? Can't seem to find settings in the FB live stream options to direct the live stream through there!

I'm using my new Gear 360 2017 with a new 64gb SanDisk U1 Micro SD and sometimes it stops recording video after a few seconds and says the card is too slow. Does anyone recommend a better card or is this a camera issue?
Yes indeed it is good considering the price . However, it seems to work with the iPhone only as the app will not download to the iPad Air 2 ! Any ideas please ?
Good review! I just got mine few days ago and I am using it with an iPhone 7+. As you showed in the review, the file got downsized when I get them from the cam onto the phone. I am wondering if I get a S8+, will the files still get downsized when I transfer them onto the S8+?
The rubber stand is flawed: if you put the camera in the rubber band (and press it), it will pop up after about 3 minutes and the camera will fall. The camera sit better by its own.
Hi! I'm from Mexico and I just bought this 360 and I have a big question since it's my first one... I want to by a MicroSD... but there are so many with many specifications, my major problem is the transfer rate... I found so many from 48MB/sec 'till 95MB/sec ... so I really want to buy the best one for my 360 2017 ! And here in Mexico Samsung can't help me... they can't tell me which transfer rate is the best, or I don't know if I am asking the wrong way... please help!!!!!

I have a quick question. Ok, I have successfully stitched two separate .mp4 files from a Samsung Gear 360 on my Macintosh. Is there a way to combine these two files into one longer one without using a non-linear editor like Final Cut X or Adobe Premier?

Great review. On the overheating issue. I used my 2016 Gear 360 to record a wedding ceremony by suspending it overhead in a finished barn with a fireplace on a humid April day in Canada. I started it way too early and left it on after the ceremony. It overheated and shut down around the hour mark.
How can I send a 360 pic via MMS to a recipient for them to also have the ability to view a pic in 360? I've tried and it appears they only receive a still pic. Am I doing something wrong?
+Reggie Andaya hey- essentially if you're on iPhone, they will need to open it in a 360 viewer like the Gear 360 app, if you're on Android, you have the ability to view as a full 360 from the photo gallery 👍

great review. got mine 2 days ago. cant ask for more for that price. does pretty well. i have a 8+ when i save a pic or video straight from the app on the phone, quality of pic is not the same. what can i do to keep it a better quality. connect to a computer?
+jose carreras it should be full resolution on recent Samsung phones- check that you're shooting at full resolution. Remember this one has lower res than the previous.

I'm only using it for photo's, no video. My mobile is too old to stitch etc. Is the PC software OK for stitching 360/180 photo's, or is it only capable of stitching videos? I really don't want to buy a new Samsung phone.

+VR 360 TV true, there are pros and cons to both Gears! But for someone who doesn't already own a Gear 360 this is a no brainer 👍
We mounted on a canoe and filmed in 4k for about 1 hour, 20 minutes. No overheating issue. Shut down when ran out of battery.

Thexder like I said in the video it's not the resolution that's the difference, its other things like stabilization, exposure, no overheating etc etc.

Thanks- firstly there’s no trick! 2, you connect by the camera’s WiFi not Bluetooth, 3 I don’t use windows but I edit in adobe premiere. Good luck!

Good review! I just got mine few days ago and I am using it with an iPhone 7+. As you showed in the review, the file got downsized when I get them from the cam onto the phone. I am wondering if I get a S8+, will the files still get downsized when I transfer them onto the S8+?
+Danny Luk thanks! I think the camera is much more Samsung friendly.. it doesn't downscale them on my S7 so I think you'd be good 👍

The rubber stand is flawed: if you put the camera in the rubber band (and press it), it will pop up after about 3 minutes and the camera will fall. The camera sit better by its own.

Hi! I'm from Mexico and I just bought this 360 and I have a big question since it's my first one... I want to by a MicroSD... but there are so many with many specifications, my major problem is the transfer rate... I found so many from 48MB/sec 'till 95MB/sec ... so I really want to buy the best one for my 360 2017 ! And here in Mexico Samsung can't help me... they can't tell me which transfer rate is the best, or I don't know if I am asking the wrong way... please help!!!!!

I have a quick question. Ok, I have successfully stitched two separate .mp4 files from a Samsung Gear 360 on my Macintosh. Is there a way to combine these two files into one longer one without using a non-linear editor like Final Cut X or Adobe Premier?
+Rees Roberts unfortunately you'll need an editor of some kind- iMovie might even do the job although I've never tried it 👍
Nice review! I just got mine and charging it on the computer is very slow. Do you know if the Galaxy S7 fast charger will work with the camera? (using the usb-c cable of course). Thanks.

Great review. On the overheating issue. I used my 2016 Gear 360 to record a wedding ceremony by suspending it overhead in a finished barn with a fireplace on a humid April day in Canada. I started it way too early and left it on after the ceremony. It overheated and shut down around the hour mark.

How can I send a 360 pic via MMS to a recipient for them to also have the ability to view a pic in 360? I've tried and it appears they only receive a still pic. Am I doing something wrong?
+Reggie Andaya hey- essentially if you're on iPhone, they will need to open it in a 360 viewer like the Gear 360 app, if you're on Android, you have the ability to view as a full 360 from the photo gallery 👍

great review. got mine 2 days ago. cant ask for more for that price. does pretty well. i have a 8+ when i save a pic or video straight from the app on the phone, quality of pic is not the same. what can i do to keep it a better quality. connect to a computer?
+jose carreras it should be full resolution on recent Samsung phones- check that you're shooting at full resolution. Remember this one has lower res than the previous.

I'm only using it for photo's, no video. My mobile is too old to stitch etc. Is the PC software OK for stitching 360/180 photo's, or is it only capable of stitching videos? I really don't want to buy a new Samsung phone.
the PC software can stitch the photos too, it does it automatically
Hey Ben , great review!!! I have the latest iMac and cannot get it to recognise my 2017 gear 360 when I attach it via USB. Not sure why that is, if I attach it to a windows laptop it picks it up as a removable device. What do you think the issue is?

You can shoot 180 if you change the photo settings.. but honestly it’s better just taking landscapes with your phone :)
