The Eldar player could have easily started moving back and shooting and handily won this game ..moving back to little to late allows the orcs to make the charge..they will obviously win combat consolidate and stay on you ..move shoot repeat...I've not in a long time seen foot orcs make it all the way down a long table against Eldar even if the list wasn't the most competitive.......still was fun to watch and thanks for the content
Not sure I had enough fire power to move back and "handily" win the game. Every troop I fielded barr the Rangers had a 12 inch range. A few Wave serpents were not going to halt the green tide. Was fun and soon as I finish painting the Fire Prism and War Walkers we will be back for revenge.
You didn't need to halt a green tide only do enough damage with the wraith lord serpents and few other things that did have range could most certainly widdle away enough after 3 or so turns of shooting that the 12 inch guns could finish the job or take most the power out of their punch
Aaron Richards Having taken a read through the new Eldar Codex, I might have an answer to your question now. The colours match the Iybraesil craftworld, which was not planned. Further more there rune is a hand, the Northern Ireland flag is a hand. Might need to add some transfers.
Shouldn't the Nobz be able to attack into a challenge where there is only one model left? And Grukk's PK has shred, actually. Could have re-rolled that one!
We totally forgot about the furious charge, hence assumed they were not strong enough to take part in the challenge. Easy mistake. Apart from that and me foolishly not using smash with the Ghostglaive re-roll, still resulted in that Ork opening a can of whoop-ass on me.
Oi! Warp'ead! Get over 'ere by da fire 'n' tell all da ladz 'bout da story o' boss Gutrippa 'n' 'ow he gave dem panzie gitz a right proppa fight! Oh, 'n' bring me a gud fungus beer too!
GUTRIPPAAAAAAAA!!! Nuff said. Seriously, this was one of the most entertaining and fun games to watch. Just imagining that massive ork bellowing and charging headlong into everything with a massive CRUNCH. Total domination.
Think u messed up with the challenge between the warboss & the wraithlord, given there were no other models involved in the combat the 3 Nobz could indeed attack the wraithlord & would have (theoretically) been able to hurt it. Challenges aren't as good in 7th ed, a re-read may be in order m8 :(
I'd love to see that sentinels of Terra mission in their supplement. against the your orks man. Your imperial fists would do awesome to see again. From, An Imperial fists player.
I know I've told ya in the past how great I find your model painting, but I dunno if I've mentioned your terrain work; it's fantastic. This is some of the finest terrain I've seen on a table, it's inspiring to say the least.
Not only did Gutrippa become a legend, he also gained a theme song. "Pop goes the Weasel" should be changed to "Pop goes the attack squig" and only be used for Gutrippa, it just worked to well.
Great batrep, those minis look fantastic - nice job on the painting. I didn't think the Orks would stand much chance against the Eldar, but they proved me wrong! Interesting to see a 1000pt game. Without a lot of the big hitting-type units (Wraithknights etc), you see a lot more action from the troop type units which was fun to see. Look forward to seeing Gutrippa in action again!
Cats Pyjamas If you had brought your Fire Dragons, then we would have seen some spectacularly poor rolling. Those boys usually come to war drunk and armed with hair dryers for all they can usually hit and kill!
Gutrippa's titles so far: Slippy killa uf da Wrait warlord(for dodging so much and killing that thing), Widstanda' uf Naigt Snakey's dakka(for surviving the salvo from the night serpent, even if he lost his bodyguards), Scary Git(For scaring off table the guardian squad), and Krussa uf da Pointy 'ead robots(for single handedly slaughtering the Wraithguards). And all of this in one match, which he not just survived, but won too! Good performance there buddy!
That black and red paint scheme works really well, wish I'd started mine that colour now. It was cool to see how you put a nob model as your boss for your troop choices and not just one from the standard boy sprue.
Killa Kanz were useless, Stormboys were massacred, bikes were massacred and the boyz caused some casualties but they were annihilated quickly as well. So this battle was The Warboss vs Eldar and the Warboss won!
I really liked this battle report. Never seen half the units used in this game such as storm boyz or eldar Rangers glad to see some diversity on this channel especially. Hope you continue making more battle reports with Orks and hopefully your imperial fists!
As of 7th, if there is a unit consisting of one model then models in an enemy unit can strike against him even if he is in a challenge. Those Nobz should have swung at the Wraithlord.
Finally!!! I have been waiting to see your orks in action ever since I watched your codex review. Well I have been watching your apocalypse battles with envious eyes!
It just occurred to me how I would have handled overwatch fire if I had been writing the rules for it; first, the unit firing must not have fired on its own most recent turn (or hasn't taken a turn yet). Then the unit must pass a leadership test. If it succeeds it fires at full BS but if it fails it caught unawares/unprepared/it freezes up. Either way, it doesn't get to fire. I've just always thought it was stupid how GW handled overwatch defense fire.
great report Luke, been looking forward to seeing your Orks and seeing you face some Eldar. Cant believe how much good luck you had with the dice though! Would love to see your Eldar and Imperial Fists face off.
Love your channel dude. Best batreps on youtube hands down. Miniwargaming are more frequent but they cant beat the production values and quality of yours. I'll probably sign up for plus once you get more content on there.
29:02 page 103 of the 7th edition BRB says that outside forces (the nobs) can only allocate wounds to the model involved in the challenge (the wraithlord) if all other ENEMY models (there are none) in that combat have been removed as casualties. So if a single character fighters a unit and its leader, this aint 6th edition anymore where the squad can only watch as bystanders (and get some special re-rolls if they outnumber the challenger)
Some nicely painted armies, there. Fun game. Did not think the Orks would be able to pull this out, but the luck of the dice always counts for more than codex strength and strategy. Not saying the Eldar would have won if the luck had been more evenly distributed (the killa kanz did nearly nothing all game), but luck definitively put it's mark on this game.
Great to see the Greenskins on the table... quick bit of advice... deep strike the Stormboyz... keeps them a bit safer... plus maybe (sometimes works for me... sometimes not) split them into two five ork squads... can attack two separate backline vehicles then and should be enough to glance them to death if your lucky.
I've been waiting for this moment since he announced the orks coming to the channel, saw this and got so exited... Can't wait to see them at full strength!!
This battrep pleases me. ''AHAHA, SILLY PANSZEE, YOU FINK YOU CAN KILL BOSS GUTRIPPA WIFF YER SILLY FRIZBEES!? WE'S DA ORKS AND WE'S MADE FOR FIGHTIN AND WINNIN!
Great video Luke. Your Orks look great! And the game with your scenery looks amazing. Considering your killa kanz did pretty much nothing but get shot and moved about you did well without them. After watching the BatRep im now considering doing a Ork speed freak army lol.
Couple of rules blunders in the Warboss combat luke 1. The nobs can fight, the challenge when there is only one model (e.g. they have no other targets) allows them to hit the model in the challenge 2. latro It was a epic game. Plenty of fun and was just to give folks a taste of Lukes new Orks. You can expect to see these two forces up the anti against eachother over the next few games.
Great video Luke. People are right, you do the best battle reports. Your jungle terrain is fantastic. Do you use plastic fish tank plants and do you know where I might be able to pick some up for a good price?
Charlie Campbell thanks for the comment:) Those jungle plants are actually a GW set...but I don't think they do them anymore. I'm sure you can pick up something similar somewhere else:)

Those Orks look amazing! I have about 500 its of orks that I'm sticking together.. been away form GW for a while now and they have changed all the paint names! So I'm kinda lost!! Mind putting up a painting tutorial for them? All the best!
Thanks for the battle report. Great camera work. If I could, I would like to suggest that you give us a little more coverage next time. I would really like to have seen some dice being rolled. Also, it would be fun if you gave us a little real time dialogue. For me, the banter and s**t talking during the game is half the fun! I'm sure you both had a lot of hilarious conversations during the game. It would be cool if you could give me a taste of that next time. Orks are always fun. Specially when thins like a 'nids player spend the entire game running from your warboss after he tried assaulting it. Not my fault the bodyguard was a unit of burna boys. Honest.
would love a link as to where you bought or made the terrain the hills look amazing, plants, and stones. would love to learn how to make these or at least buy them for my games too thanks
Nice to have the orks on the channel and wonderful painting might i add, but why, of all the music scores to go with, did you choose the e.s posthumus version of pop goes the weasel?
Yes he did, there was a bit of a mix up on filming and we fought a round without the invisibility. We then re-filmed that scene. So there might be some mix up in there. Didn't help them much mind you.
Great battle report Luke as always. Great to see you using your Orks finally. You were defiantly lucky with the dice in that game I think. But you've certainly inspired me to make a ork army now. Are you sticking to your force you mentioned in your codex review of the Orks or are you considering adding or changing any choices after that game?
I almost never find myself rooting for Luke simply based on the factions he runs :p but more Ork and Imperial Fist reports could certainly see me in his corner a lot mor often! Wicked game as always though mate, just love to watch!
Gutrippa has now become stuff of legends.
To this day, Ork Nobz tell their boyz the tale of Gutrippa and his bloody rampage through the Eldar.
One of the best things about your channel is seeing those awesomely painted minis!

The waggghh power is a nice ground covering play. The rematch will be a different story as the points go up. Watch this space.
Don't have a name for it. Never really given it any thought.

And Grukk's PK has shred, actually. Could have re-rolled that one!
Lemonskull Sorry, on second though you could have been using Grukk as a counts as warboss.
Lemonskull Yes the Nobz would have attacked into the challenge
T8.Although I guess he forgot furious charge on the first turn.

Oi! Warp'ead! Get over 'ere by da fire 'n' tell all da ladz 'bout da story o' boss Gutrippa 'n' 'ow he gave dem panzie gitz a right proppa fight! Oh, 'n' bring me a gud fungus beer too!
Hey bud don't forget Gutrippa has SHRED. He is truly amazing.
I like the secret tactic of calling a 'waa' rather than a 'war'. Certainly something wound Gutrippa up. Maybe the Eldar had been singing at him?
1000 to 1500 pts are the best games to watch. Anything more or less is too much. Great cast. Your warlord is your unit's highest leadership.
GUTRIPPAAAAAAAA!!! Nuff said.
Seriously, this was one of the most entertaining and fun games to watch.

damn that was about the most intense rendition of "pop goes the weasel" I've ever heard lol
I'd love to see that sentinels of Terra mission in their supplement. against the your orks man. Your imperial fists would do awesome to see again.

“Wutz dat Eldar?!
“Dat suppozed tae hurt!?”
-Gutrippa probably
Best UA-cam 40k battle reports going this is an actual fact.
The little warboss that could. Absolutely stunning paint job on the miniatures as well btw.
Go gut rippa!!! I can't believe he just totally wrecked that wraith lord only taking 1 wound!
The detail on your tables is fantastic. Love the vegetation and the great colour schemes!
Not only did Gutrippa become a legend, he also gained a theme song. "Pop goes the Weasel" should be changed to "Pop goes the attack squig" and only be used for Gutrippa, it just worked to well.
LordViru lol:)

Those wraith heads will look great on Guttrippas trophy rack.
You need more mobility with this army such as ork trukks
WOW that was some awful rolling for the eldar and some FANTASTIC rolling for the orks
Don't I know it. But that is the nature of the game. Was great fun to play.
Cats Pyjamas If you had brought your Fire Dragons, then we would have seen some spectacularly poor rolling. Those boys usually come to war drunk and armed with hair dryers for all they can usually hit and kill!
Those Orks look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I dont know how to play. but it is always great fun to watch your videos.
+Charles Virgo thanks...glad you enjoyed it:)
Loved the music for this one, did I really here pop goes the weasel in there?
Joshua Capps I heard that too. I had put it down to accidental glue sniffing while assembling genestealers.
Enjoyable video, and I must say, the painting for those Orks is outstanding :)
awesome looking models on both side, love the eldar colour scheme :)
Thank you 😉
Absolutely one of the best battles I've watched take place. Bravo fellas.
Kurt M thanks! Check out our other bat reps...some great games:)
Thank you I thought you stopped putting up reports after the new channel... but it was just a delay :) fantastic as always
Amazing game! Can't wait to see Gutripper again!!
nice paint and love the smoke markers... great battle report thumbs up :)

Awesome game, was very fun to watch. Would be nice if we see more Ork battles in the channel at future.
you got the best battle reports online imo.

Most epic Orkiness I've ever seen!
Totaly made my day XD
I honestly thought the orks were skrewed but wow this was impressive.
Very nice batrep and very nice paint scheme for the eldar! Thumbs up!!
Cheers 😉
Great to see the Greenskins on the table... quick bit of advice... deep strike the Stormboyz... keeps them a bit safer... plus maybe (sometimes works for me... sometimes not) split them into two five ork squads... can attack two separate backline vehicles then and should be enough to glance them to death if your lucky.
Chris Linton thanks for the tips:)
absolutely awesome paint job on those orks :)
+Peter Morgan thanks:)
Np :) actually working on my own orks at the moment. With a pinkish purple and grey colour scheme. :)
WE'S DA ORKS AND WE'S MADE FOR FIGHTIN AND WINNIN!
i recommend you record that rolls .. mini wargames seems to be the only channel to do that.! Either way i enjoy your vids..
Ok....thanks for the suggestion:)
You should probably keep those killa kans in 3 groups of 2 rather than a big one of six
Awesome batttle report, keep it up love watching all your games.
Nice to see the orks winning.
Awesome!!!!! Great battle report, was fun to watch.
Great video Luke. Your Orks look great! And the game with your scenery looks amazing.
Considering your killa kanz did pretty much nothing but get shot and moved about you did well without them.
After watching the BatRep im now considering doing a Ork speed freak army lol.
Another awesome army man. Epic painting.
Goes to show that the smaller point games can be as thrilling as the big ones.
Concrats with you new ork army and a nice batrep as always
BASED GUTRIPPA!! A legendary performance.
Couple of rules blunders in the Warboss combat luke
1. The nobs can fight, the challenge when there is only one model (e.g. they have no other targets) allows them to hit the model in the challenge
2. The wraithlord is a mons creature and as such causes fear, you didnt take a fear test.. you'd of prob passed but but worth remembering (for the eldar chap next game :D)
Fear tests were taken and passed off camera. The nobs were not strong enough to wound after the initial "furious charge". ....which we forgot about anyway.
Cats Pyjamas fair play, haha only just getting to the bit where he goes on a rampage, epic stuff!
latro It was a epic game. Plenty of fun and was just to give folks a taste of Lukes new Orks. You can expect to see these two forces up the anti against eachother over the next few games.
Incredible terrain and paint job.
I think this game is going to be awesome, WAAAAAGGGHH. Finally! Orks!!
Doesn't Grukk(gutrippa) have shred on his weapon? First round of the challenge coulda rerolled both 1s.
Still, love dem Orkz.
The game was a clear learning curve for both sides, but still a fun game.
SS82, you continue to have the best looking boards on the internet. No one does a better job of making terrain look great.
Brian Dickerson thanks...and yes...must remember the shred rule!:)
Best battle report yet!!!
Orks also got line-breaker... Hammer and Anvil deployment. 9-3 Orks. And yeah... That challenge against the Wraithlord was ballsed up a bit. Still a really great game to watch though! Gutrippa is a beast!
They didn't get line breaker. Luke pointed that out in the video. You need to be within 12 inches of my table edge on my deployment zone. He was about 14 inches out.
Cats Pyjamas I always thought winning linbreaker was just a matter of being in your opponent's deployment zone, which in this instance would be 24" from the table edge.

That warboss........WAAAARGH!!!
Was there a Pain Boy in the Warboss´s unit? I believe you did 5+ FNP´s and Cyborg Body gives 6+...it would have affected the outcome...nice batrep as always thou...
Grukk has fnp.
I think the special character Luke was using has the universal rule of feel no pain, hence a 5+
Did he run Grukk under a different name though or was it just the model he used, I never caught that?
He mentioned that he was playing it as Grukk.
Okay, that explains it
Awesome to see orks in action!
Those Orks look amazing! I have about 500 its of orks that I'm sticking together.. been away form GW for a while now and they have changed all the paint names! So I'm kinda lost!! Mind putting up a painting tutorial for them?
All the best!
Quodge Sure...full Ork painting tutorial on my channel:)
Nice paint job on the orks btw
Thanks for the battle report. Great camera work. If I could, I would like to suggest that you give us a little more coverage next time. I would really like to have seen some dice being rolled. Also, it would be fun if you gave us a little real time dialogue. For me, the banter and s**t talking during the game is half the fun! I'm sure you both had a lot of hilarious conversations during the game. It would be cool if you could give me a taste of that next time. I would also like if you gave me a some strategic/tactical insight. You seem to be a good player! I wish I knew what you were thinking during the game.
And please get a weird boy. They are perfect for this kind of game
I have been generally disappointed in the close combat of the regular ork boyz so I have given that task to the tougher or more elite units. I like using lots and lots of shootas and just LET THE DAKKA FLY!
What is the music you use at 50:00 I think, sounds like a classical version "pop goes the weasel"?
Man your FNP rolls were Off the Charts!
I have some terrain tutorials on the channel already but plan to make more:)
Nice to have the orks on the channel and wonderful painting might i add, but why, of all the music scores to go with, did you choose the e.s posthumus version of pop goes the weasel?
where did you get those rock terrain pieces from? they look amazing
Wraith1uk custom made....I hope to do terrain tutorials:)
+StrikingScorpion82 what are the rocks made of?
+reallysorrymate from the beach:)
I had thought that on turn 2 the spiritseer had put invisibility on the guardians, yet in combat the orks were hitting them normally?
Yes he did, there was a bit of a mix up on filming and we fought a round without the invisibility. We then re-filmed that scene. So there might be some mix up in there. Didn't help them much mind you.
8:44 totally sounds like Age of Mythology music
YAASSSS! ORKS
Question: Does Gutripper have relentless? If not is that rocket he fired an assault weapon?
Sam Baker There's very few weapons orks can have that aren't assault. Even our big shootas (stat for stat heavy bolters) are assault.
Good to know. No one in my current gaming group runs Orks. I wish that wasn't the case because they seem fun to play against.
Great batrep gents!
Just gotta congratulate Chris on that killer accent.
Northern Ireland, born and raised. As we say here "Norn Iron"
Tankaction ski thanks. Pretty much sticking to what I said in the codex review:)
Did the eldar play use the Imperial Armour book for their army list?
Pop Goes The Wraithlord!
I almost never find myself rooting for Luke simply based on the factions he runs :p but more Ork and Imperial Fist reports could certainly see me in his corner a lot mor often! Wicked game as always though mate, just love to watch!
Ph3n0m _93 thanks lol:)
