I am 61 years old and a distance runner. I’ve been doing easy strength for a few months, and I enjoy the program, but I want to know better how to integrate strength into running so that I am maximizing the impact of both at the young age of 61
Thank you for freely sharing your knowledge and insights with us. I think the only thing I don't like is I usually end up with several books that I feel I need to get and read. I suppose that's not so bad in the grand scheme of things, though.
Enjoyed the podcast Dan. I’m not a natural squatter. It took a me over a year to really dial in an acceptable high bar, deep back squat. A few weeks ago I decided that I needed to move on to front squats. It was awkward and painful. I always squat in weightlifting shoes, but I still needed to elevate my heels a bit more with a piece of wood. It all came together this week when I was able to remove the extra heel elevation and knock out three sets of three with minimal discomfort in the wrists. As you said, this is not just a lower body exercise. The entire body has to be focused to get these right. Quite satisfying to do something that I found painful and seemingly impossible. Thanks for all that you do.
I'm close on both. I'm almost 66 so I have to think through the heavy snatches a bit more. On the press, I can do it from the rack, but I'm not going to do the clean and press any more for maxes. It's just cost-to-benefit stuff.

Enjoyed it, Dan. Thank you!
Great job as always!
Can you STILL press and snatch bodyweight Dan?

@@DanJohnStrengthCoach very impressive still- so around 105kg -110kg sn / cj is super strong at any age do you hold any American age group records?
@@DM-jt4rh I think he held records when he was younger
Thanks for the podcast Dan, great as always! Asking, not in a demanding way: you're not doing the 10k swing challenge this year?
Not this year. I might again, but literally my heart isn't there this year.
@@DanJohnStrengthCoach Totally understand. Thanks for the answer!
So your advice for increasing the full snatch, treat it like the press?
Week 3 of lean made simple. This is my second time doing it but week 3, 1 day left pressing the 32kg!
Comment for the Algo!
