My favorite shot of any TV show ever is the reflection of Nate jogging in Claire's side-view mirror until he eventually drops out of frame. It's so freakin' poetic and well done.
Don't remind me! Too soon!
Me too! It’s so beautiful and at the same time brutal. It wells up all sorts of emotions. I’m not sure if that was their intention or not, but they shot a banger with that one shot. Glad someone else recognizes it also.
Always thought that particular clip was the most emotional hitting scene of all
It gets EVERYONE. Changed my life. The whole show
Def wish I'd seen it at a more malleable stage of life, before the cantankerousness.
"You can't take a picture of this it's already gone". Probably the best ending of the TV series of all time. This show never leaves you after you've seen it, that's how you know it's a masterpiece.
What you talkin' bout Willis? This ending had ZERO effect on me.
Nah, this sh't was crazy! I was in desperate need of fluids after all that.
@@dunkyvslife7447 Ahaha you bet. I remember i was exausted from crying. This show is a life changing experience, that's how good it is
I was a blubbering wreck when I first watched this, and I too felt such an impact from that line "You can't take a picture of this, it's already gone". Even now as soon as I re-hear it for about the tenth time I get an instant lump in my throat! Probably my favourite characters of all time, what a masterpiece of a show.
@@tenmillbank2022 Same here. It feels like family, that's how much i loved them by the end of the show.
@@dunkyvslife7447this was the only episode that started with a birth not a death
It's tough to watch but it's probably the most satisfying conclusion to a show I've ever seen.
I knew I'd get a bit teary but THIS was ridiculous!
It’s easily the best finale ever
Great reaction to one of the best series finales ever. I knew Ruth's death scene would get to you the most, her being one of your favorite characters. She's one of mine as well.
Will probably have to give it a year before I watch it again, need time to recover.
This season finale had the exact same effect on me, as I’m sure it did many of us. However, I have a lot of respect for you for being so vulnerable on social media. It’s a gut punch of a finale, and ironic that in a sense, it’s the ending to every show we’ve ever watched, only we normally don’t get to see it. Thank you for sharing.
No worries, cheers for watching. 'The ending to every show we've ever watched, only we normally don't get to see it', I hadn't thought of that... and now I don't want to lol.
At this point it's just muscle memory: I hear Sia's Breathe Me - I begin to cry
LOL< me too!
Didn't know Sia was around back then... but me too now.
This show is a journey, and even after almost 25 years, it still holds up. Favorite show ever. Best finale ever. Thanks for letting go on this journey with ya, mate.
Great show but glad it's over, heart would give out if much more.
Godamit, I wasn't gonna cry this time. I've watched this final scene at least half a dozen times now, and it gets me every time
I think it's going to take a lot more than a dozen views to sensitize yourself against THAT much emotion!
Thanks for letting us experience this beautiful ride with you, Dunky. You wore your heart on a sleeve in front of us, and it doesn't go unappreciated. And I hope you keep that sense of humor, because it's a terrific one.
A little recap of my SFU journey: my late dad introduced me to it a little over a decade ago, was I was 18 or 19. Then I introduced it to my little brother a couple years later, and then my mom soon after that. It's a journey in itself watching it with someone. They all say it changed their life. It definitely did mine. Made me wiser, more empathetic, introspective.. appreciative and grateful, to note a few. I feel different (usually in a good way) after every rewatch. I hope it's the same with you when you rewatch it someday. Thanks again. 🫶
Glad you enjoyed it, some of those episodes were tough to get through, and that last one ...
Sounds like your dad STILL managed to change lives for the better through you, nice. I keep trying to get my mum to watch but she refuses to watch anything 'heavy'.
Now I'll be imagining eveyone's future death while walking down the street, great.
Thanks again for watching!
I just now noticed something about the final sequence (having now watched it probably 40 times): the camera is almost always panning slowly upward through the entire thing. That's gotta be intentional, but it's soooo beautifully subtle.
I hadn't noticed, too many things going on in my head, what could that mean? As an atheist I'm not sure but seems beautiful regardless.
you are a goat reactor for doing this show thank you dunkman
Thanks man, I think I lost a kilo just from moisture loss!
I watched this probably over 15 years ago and I still think about it from time to time. Never been so touched by a show and what a way to end it. I don't think anybody can get through this without crying if they watched the whole show and know the characters.
It always annoys me when I watch something guaranteed for tears and a reactor isn't affected, they're out there lol. Powerful stuff for sure!
This show has the best finale I've ever seen. And I don't think any show will ever have a better finale than Six Feet Under.
I don't know ... what about 'The Acolyte'? But seriously, I can't think of one either.
I'm new to your channel. And I love seeing your raw, visceral, genuinely emotional reactions to the final eps of this show. I recently just watched the marathon aired on HBO after not having seen it for 20+ years since it first aired and I can say, perspective and maturity really is everything. I enjoyed this. We wiped our tears away together 🫶🏾
I hear ya! I wish I had seen it when younger but just happy I got 'round to it eventually. How annoying is it when you're blubbering but the reactor is completely dry eyed? No dry eyes here!
I was on that very road at the end, not too long ago - coming home from Arizona after both my parents died within two months of each other. I was right there with you sobbing, Dunky! Thanks for all the lovely reactions to one of my favorite shows!
Geez, hope you weren't listening to that song too! The show's brutal but it's as real as it gets. Thanks for coming on the journey with me.
The writers really produced deeply profound, deeply moving finale, Without being cliche. A masterful achievement.
Pretty much the perfect finale.
This film - presented in television dramatic series fashion - was arguably without flaw. Superb writing. Incandescent photography. Deliciously dark humor. Brilliantly talented cast giving their best. Deeply philosophical content. Enthralling. Heartbreaking. Entertaining. True.
Thank you, Alan Ball et al.
I was into Sopranos at the time this came out, so fully understand the t.v show/movie morph. Groundbreaking t.v that led the way for all the shows we love today.
In my opinion, this was one of the best series finales ever! This is the way to end a series proper!
You and EVERY one else! Most tissues expended EVA!!!
such a brilliant ending, and truly the only way the show could have ended. so satisfying, probably the opposite of the sopranos ending haha (although i still love that one too). really enjoyed watching your reactions to this the past 3 years, can’t wait to see what you watch next 😊
So YOU'RE the other person that liked the Sopranos ending!
Everyone had warned me about this ending but... but...
Editing was just as emotional lol!
I bought myself a second hand Prius to replace my old car. It was kinda pure coincidence. But first CD I put in the car? The second official soundtrack compilation of Six Feet Under. The chills when Sia Breathe Me started... I had anticipated it so much.
Bravo on finishing the show, to have gone through the whole journey to its bittersweet ending. After 15 years, this is still the most gut wrenching and life defining "moment" of my life. It tought me so much, but I was 21 yo back then, I did not know better. It helped go through so much painful episodes of my life. Depressions. The loss of friends. Their untimely deaths... Six Feet Under taught me before I had to make these hard experiences myself and it really helped me. I always identified with David for obvious reasons back then, but the more I rewatch the show, I realize I have been Claire all along. Learning. Growing up. Live. Love. Laugh. Doubt. Mourn. Repeat.
Take care everyone.
I wish I'd have seen this back in the day, may have learned some better coping skills. I was most like Nate but more annoying. Identifying with David sounds alright, just don't start identifying with DEXTER ok?
I watched this show as it aired, and in the middle of the series lost my dad to cancer. Then my sister had my nephew 2 weeks later. I was 24 at the time. It really made the show hit home. The ending was especially profound. I bought the series on DVD, and still have it and just recently rewatched it all. And it still holds up, but I think it has new meaning in my mid life. I am closing in on 50 real quick. And if I’ve learned anything over the last 20 years, it’s just how fast life goes. You do not, have time to make big plans for life. You have to get up and live it. Or it will pass you by. Momento Mori……❤
Amen to that! Far out, talk about a lot of different emotions all around the same time! Sorry to hear about your dad. I'm about to turn 47 so hear you on approaching 50, I'm still basically where I was at 25... and it doesn't really bother me. This show was beautiful, painful and happy, so glad I finally watched it. Peace.
It will never leave you.
I was just talking to someone about Clare the other day, I was comparing her life to my grans'.
Wow, can't believe your SFU journey is over. It was a hell of a ride, but all good things, as well as life, has to come to an end. The final 10 minute montage of everyone's final moments was quite poetic especially with the integral theme of the series being death. As the title suggests Everyone was waiting for one another on the other side.
Truly a masterpiece for both the finale and series. You could rewatch this show during different parts of your life and always gain something new from the experience
Something I didn't notice before and someone mentioned it so I can't take credit for this, but when Ruth calls Maggie it looks like she might be getting an abortion for Nate's baby. An interesting detail/theory if that's the case. Another great reason to rewatch the series at some point!
This finale and series as a whole always gets me in my emotions. I remember bawling in the kitchen to my mom after we finished cause my Nan has dementia and it hit home, but it just put mine and everyone else's mortality right in front of me. Tis Life. No escaping the inevitable, just have to enjoy here and now, especially with the ones we love. Nothing is promised. Life isn't a privilege, it's a gift.
Thanks for sharing your journey with us Dunky, I'll have to hop on another show with ya! Do you have plans to fill in something else for SFU? Have you ever watched TWD? That's another one of my favourite series right besides SFU!
Anyways I've typed long enough..again LOL take it easy Dunky, great to see ya back and posting!
Ps: Did this finale live up to your high expectations that we all put on you?? I'm assuming yes given your tears!
I def knew it would be emotional but I didn't realise I'd drop body weight!
I cut out a bit with me saying "Maggie's at a doctors?", because it didn't amount to anything but I for sure did notice.
Great show about 'life' with all it's ups and downs and heartaches, brutally honest and all those deaths at the end really shove it in your face.
What's TWD? 'The walking dead'? I watched that up to about when Glen died then called it quits. Have some other shows ready to go though.
Thanks for journeying with me!
Claire got a "Ted's deeply un-hip mix". We got a "Dunky's deeply hip mix".
Thank you for that journey, mate. May the Fishers be with you. :)
First time I've ever been called 'hip' ... I LIKE it!
It was a hard slog but we got there in the end.
Ah, here I am, once again, crying to the ending of Six Feet Under.
Bloody hell.
At least you know you're not made of stone then.
It was a tiny bit sad wasn't it lol?
@@dunkyvslife7447
Mate, it absolutely destroys me every. Single. Time.
I am pretty sure I could watch it 10 times in a day and sob every time.
When she looks in the mirror and sees Nate running with her... ugh.
Cheers from Texas. :)
@@diabx0r The cataracts get me!
I remember watching this entire series when it first aired on HBO. Such a unique show and cast of characters/actors. I think at some point or other I hated each character. But I think for those who stuck with it, the last season and especially the series finale made it all worth it. I ugly cried for almost 15 minutes watching this episode and went through half a box of tissues easy.
thank you dude for sincere reaction.
No worries, that was brutal lol.
My 2nd favourite show ever (just behind the shield), the ending and watching time pass in the final montage is the best moment in any show i’ve ever seen and the emotions were incredible.
Six feet under and the shield have the two best finales ever great picks
@@raymondsims7042thanks man, you’ve obviously got great taste. Have a great day or night
@@Wxczutoh my god I follow you on Serializd.
I always thought 'The Shield' was just about a bald bully cop messing with people, so it's actually got a heart?
@@dunkyvslife7447it’s unbelievable, character dynamics are incredible, it’s so emotional and the pilot hooks you in so well
Thanks for for recactions, your my favorite UA-camr for reaction videos, this is one of my favorite series, the only thing that comes close to this series and that ending is the series "Mr. Robot" , if you havent watched Mr. Robot you should definitely watch it, Greetings from Germany ❤
Cheers for that, actually means a lot. Haven't seen 'Mr Robot' yet so will have to put it on the list.
@@dunkyvslife7447 thanks you will not regret it if you watch it I have watched so many good shows and Mr. Robot is the single best piece of media I have seen in my entire life and I'm already 26 years old
I think I'm broken because as sad as this is i did not cry. It hurts my heart but i could not cry. 💔
Some people just don't. I never cry irl, so get it all out when watching telly. Different strokes...
How could anyone watch this finale and not use half a box of tissue...brilliant
i watched the whole series after it appeared on HBO 15 years ago,, and really enjoyed the character development, and lessons to be learned. I bought the series a month ago to rewatch them all...i had forgotten all the anti-Christian sentiment and hate for the right with their 'facist bigot "bullshit in every single episode-it's one or the other or both. but beyond those two things, it's one of my favorite shows ever...typical hollyweird wackos, eg. the producer, writers et al.
Some stone cold people out there!
my god when david sees keith before he goes, i lose it everytime. they were my favorites.
That was hard but mine was Claire, how she's surrounded by her life's art but had cataracts on her eyes, brutal.
Thank you for the journey dude
No worries!
Yes it's the journey, keep on driving Claire, keep on going.
Everytime someone comments on this vid, my heart gets broken all over again lol.
They just had no way to believably age rico lol
He lived a long life yet still died in his early twenties.
So glad they ended it that way it makes a reboot impossible which is great because it was a perfect ending
I bet billy fell of a heart attack moments after brenda. Did you notice billy still harping on claire marrying ted?
Billy's an odd duck to say the least lol.
Cleire llega a los 102 años ❤
Not too shabby, sad about her eyes though.
Amazing ending. Stayed with me for weeks……😢
Weeks? I still think about quite regularly... brutal stuff.
I have the complete set on DVD five seasons.
If I'd seen the show earlier I'd have had it for sure too.
You did'nt watch the end credits!! That's part of the experience!!
WTH!? Are you serious? That annoys me about most reactions, I'll double check that today.
super powerful ending no doubt
Bloody oath! That was messed up!
😢😢😢
Understatement!
Why you so mean with David 😭
What you talkin' 'bout Willace?
Ruth O'Connor dies this year.
She was awesome!
