I first heard Nazareth ( Dan ) when I was about 4 yrs old . I've always liked him . Even when he got older , he still had that beautiful hair . His personality was the best . Him as a person . I liked this interview very much .
I am proud to say that my radio show that was broadcast over the school p.a. system in the hallways before school started, got shut down. I guess "We're Gonna Go Down Fightin' " was too much for the teacher's morning ears. Nuge didn't help either. But oh, so memorable.

I hope Dan knew how much we loved him & Nazareth Band.🌹 He was true & natural. There aren’t too many ppl like him~especially when famous. We loved him & the Band~just as they were. No gimmicks, no “trouble” to create headlines. Thanks for the beautiful talent that thrilled us deeply. The unforgettable music & performances resonated purely & touched the soul. Thanks for the joy of your sound. ❤ R.I.P. Dan🕊️🥀🕊️
@@mariahelenasalazar1926 At the start Dan is saying it was difficult to get started in the music industry, they just had to keep writing and playing, and a management company came and offered them to make a record, they went to London and eventually got signed. The interviewer mentions having to change their image, Dan says not really, they kept being told to get an image but they didn’t like images! in the early 70's images only lasted like a year. Dam mentions this being before things became visual, it was only about the music at that point. Dan then says they were never darlings of the press, they were never scandalous enough, they just concentrated on the music and didn’t get in any trouble so were uninteresting for the press. Interviewer asks if the image if a band was more important in the 70's? Dan says at that time, the music press was very very powerful, and they would try to give you an image - they went from being a rock n roll band to heavy rock band to heavy metal for some reason! it was just a thing for them to sell papers and put people in pigeon holes. Dan then says Britain is very changeable, this might be popular this month, but next month its that, and that’s why they consciously never tried to get an image. The people who played it well were like David Bowie, spider from Mars but then he would announce at the end of the tour "that’s it!" the spiders are gone and then he would come out as somebody else. Dan then discusses being the new kids on the block in Britain, then dinosaurs, and then in the 90's they became legends! its easier being a legend than it is a dinosaur!!! Interviewer mentions the press having power, video jumps and Dan says he’s not slagging this girl, Lady Gaga! or Christina Aguilera, talented people, but they know if they don’t have an image, or shock then they wont be getting played on MTV. They are young people and they know that, they are conscious of the game they are playing! Interviewer then mentions they had some massive hits in the USA and Canada and askes his important that was, Dan says very important as it gave the band longevity as they were too ugly and too old for MTV! it gave the band credibility, if you make it in the states and make it in Canada then you must have something good going on. he says they were always a good live band anyway, not being big headed, but we were! he says when they couldn’t get records played in the 80's when dance came out etc, they could always go and play and sell tickets somewhere, and that kept them going. And in the 90's Guns n Roses covered them so a lot of younger people checked out Nazareth. Interviewer asks is commercial success something which can be planned? Dan says no, well it can be if you have a lot of money to start with, like Simon Cowell and his talent shows, if you have that kind of backing you can make somebody a hit. he then says I’m sure there’s a German and an Austrian version of pop star or whatever it’s called. You can’t do this twice though, people might buy something when its pushed into their face... but then if you try and push somebody else in their face people will say no I don’t like that, go away! People are not stupid, they like what they like, you can plan it to a certain extent. We are going to make a new record in sept October time so will sit down with the record company and say "look, when this thing comes out we want advertising" tell the people it’s out. Interviewer asks Dan about downloads etc. Dan says its just a fact of life, it would be like him trying to shoot the man who invented the CD so he cannot be bootlegged all over the world, you cant stop that now, people can get free music so they will, its stealing but its a natural human thing. He says he refuses to buy bootlegs on a point of honour. he says music is more of a visual thing and he bought music before he knew what bands looked like, mentions Led Zep. Dan then says you have to be beautiful as well as talented now, not everybody that is talented is also beautiful, which is a shame... as I’d never have gotten a job!!! Interviewer asks if he’s ever downloaded songs, Dan says no as he’s too technophobic, but then claims he’s not that bad really, Dan talks about buying albums when young, saying they had all the lyrics in the sleeves etc. it was exciting to buy an album. these days he cant read CD's without glasses on. he likes buying albums as there’s a story running through them, you’d discover new tracks when you buy an album. You miss out by just downloading 1 or 2 tracks. Interviewer asks if the Album is making a comeback? Dan says yes as kids download things that their friends like what’s popular in school or the youth club, when you get older tastes change. Interviewer (i think) asks if he still enjoys live shows. Dan says he does but he’s getting a bit older now as you can tell Dan says he loves the gigs, but the travelling gets a bit wary, they have their own tour bus so Europe is ok, but Russia can take 2 days to travel gets a bit strange, he says he likes touring he would be doing it, he says I’m 63 now if i didn’t like it, i wouldn’t do it, id be sitting in the house sending emails! Interviewer asks if he prepares for touring? Dan says they never come off tour, he was out in Jan, the band started in Feb, he’s been home for 2 weeks, he describes the busy schedule and says they never come off tour. Interviewer asks if they travel together (i think) and asks if its sex drugs and rock n roll? Dan says somebody is getting the sex and drugs and I’m getting the rock n roll!! Somebody else is getting mine!! I remember in the 60's when everybody was getting free love, somebody else got mine! Dan then says you have to take care of yourself to a point, they tend to have a laugh after the shows and have fun, but they know they have a gig the nest say so have to get their arse to bed, its like any other job you know! Dan then mentions it might be somebody’s first time seeing them so they need to make sure they do it right or they might lose a fan.

Слов не понимаю. Но слушаю голос и смотрю на любимого певца. Ставлю лайк, потому что люблю "НАЗАРЕТ" и люблю ДЭНА. (Разве его можно не любить?)
Such a humble soul with his approach to his popularity. RIP Dan Mc Cafferty! You will be sorely missed :(
