Hey, Matt. jus wanted to say since I"'ve subscribed to Acoustic Selection channel how Awesome a job u r doing . please, let me kno when u r learning to play Long Black Train by Josh Turner. I Hav the CD when I use to sing at churches or churches I got invited to sing at. now I want to learn how to play on my acoustic guitar.
Someday we should collaborate if we meet up in person, actually these songs you provided had helped me take out my temptation and sang to Jesus that I need him. When I give my problems It becomes a worship session he will touch heart and bring peace among us. Thanks Matt.
Hey Matt just wanted to touch base I know you’re super busy with your kids and your family and your job and everything. Wondering if you ever heard of this group called deluge it’s DELUGE and they have some really cool praise songs. And just let me know and I’ll I’ll write you back there’s some I’ve been working on guitar for years and I think you could teach it on your website. Thanks John Gaar.
Matt when I play that cadd9 it doesn’t sound as nice as a regular c. It just has a different sound. Why is that ? I am playing it correct just doesn’t sound right to my ears. Thanks buddy.
As much as I'd love for this to be true. It isn't. You still have an open D string, in your example that isn't changing like the other fretted strings. What you're showing is technically going from D -> D#/D -> E/D and so forth, since your D root/bass note is not changing. Now if you were to capo let's say 1st fret, and play a normal D chord in reference to capo position, you would in fact be playing a D# chord because all fretted/open strings are being raised a half-step. But thanks anyways.
Mark Nightowl thank you i like that. ! that blessed me. because im in constant spiritual warfare and have psychiatric issues which make it worse heres another one maybe you can use this. when those spirits are throwing judgement on you just say Lord please judge my accussers. kinda same thing now that i think about it but amen brother
Wow ...thank you. That was so cool to learn.. especially since I've been playing piano for years but I'm just starting to learn guitar.

so could you play the normal chords with a loop pedal and then play the d chord over top if you don't have another guitar player?

Hey Matt why don't you teach how you do those cool hammer-ons when your playing the chords.
He does have videos on hammer ons
MB2010 Hammer ons are actually not very complicated. it's all a matter of practice -makes-perfect.
will do Anthony!

Love the heart my man but your root note is staying open D so this is not an accurate illustration of what you're describing. Blessings.
