Hey everyone, I had this footage from hiking up Mt Torrey that didn't fit into an episode. Hope you enjoy, and everyone in USA had a good Thanksgiving!
Hey Simon. Just know one thing my friend. You have so many fans so many people that really care for you and want you to succeed. So please keep on doing what you do. We got your back!!! #LOVEFORESTY
Absolutely Enjoyed it & Always Have... You take me to Places I will Never see... Thank You for taking us along... BTW...That 1 shot of the Mountain looked like a Pyramid ♥️👍🎁
I tried to do baby hill, Mt. Okanagan, with my terrier Lloyd. Every time I stopped to huff and puff, he would use the opportunity to try and run back to the car. Coyote prints everywhere. Rocco is very brave.
You are a very brave soul to venture out so early in the morning and onto that cold and windy summit, Moresty. Glad that you posted this instead of it ending up on the cutting room floor, so to speak. And thank you for sharing those spectacular views with us!!
Just love this 'small for Forestry' hike-🥰for those of us who are earthbound it would take a week of planning and a lot more gear. 🙄🙂 Thanks for risking the Drone awesome views!
Forest, that drone shot over "the edge" gets me every time.... Makes this OLD man pine for the adventure in another "place and time" Thank You and please continue to enjoy the Creator's Beautiful Creation.
thanks for this extra treat! It always makes me happy to see smoke coming from the little stovepipe! I'm glad you had a not-so-risky climb and that the weather held up for you.
Well, that was efficient! Thanks for bringing us along! I love watching your outings. I'm okay with cold, but hights and ice...... not so much. You and Rocko rawk.
Your videos gives me so much joy. I’m a senior who loves to to hike and camp but none of my friends are interested. So sad. But I’m thankful you’re bringing nature to n us💞🌞🕊️
I got to hand it to you man. He wrote there doing what you want. There's nothing wrong with that. It's great. A lot of good memories for down the road. You and your hound. Yeah I know she's not at home but I call old dogs a hound 👍👍🙂🇨🇦🐕
I had a drone flight like that on Alberta Peak in Colorado. Had to time the gale force wind bursts trying to find a window so I could land it and not chop myself up.
Nice vid, plus another summit. We saw a lot of beetle killed forest when we were in Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota. Hate to see it, but it seems impossible to stop.
Another top quality production. So much information and dramatic beauty in less than 4 minutes- yet utterly satisfying. Thank you for taking the time to film, edit, and produce quality content 😊❤😊❤😊
*_Hello..., the video is too short, even though I really enjoyed the panorama and views of the mountains which are soothing to the eyes, but thank you because it is quite impressive, and I like it... greetings from Indonesia_*
My old house in Georgia got by those pine beetles. Noticed lots of fallen needles just under a selected few. Looked up. Yep, lots of holes, 1/2 dead, sawdust on the ground too. Dropped a section of fence, dropped 5 trees I think and re erected the fence. Almost hit my Doberman, lesson learned and Ithought my buddy was experienced at this ?!?!? Put the chainsaw down after 3 and he was shaking, feeling lucky he didn’t destroy anything. WTF?!? Split it, burned out the stumps w/55 gallon barrel “sleeve” and luckily I didn’t have anymore for the remaining years I owned the house 👍
Only takes a second to look it up: The mountain pine beetle is native to western Canada, but has expanded beyond its historical range and could become invasive, due to climate change and past forest management programs. Up to 98% of MPB population is normally killed due to winter temperatures; however, with recent warmer winters, more individuals are surviving and the population has been able to grow more rapidly. MPB is extending further north in British Columbia and further north east in Alberta. Also, with regional fire suppression programs and harvesting programs that focused on other species, large expanses of lodgepole pine, MPB’s normal host tree, were left behind and allowed to reach an age at which they become more susceptible to the beetle. Jack pine, which stretches across the Canadian Shield into Ontario, is also susceptible to MPB infestation. Mountain pine beetle has not yet been detected east of Alberta but poses a significant threat to the area. Native to Western Canada, the MPB could become a devastating invasive species if it reaches the pine forests in Eastern Canada. ... The mountain pine beetle is a wood-boring insect native to western North America and attacks a wide range of pine trees including lodgepole, ponderosa, western white, whitebark, limber and jack. The mountain pine beetle has many natural predators including insects, parasitoids and woodpeckers. However, these enemies do not have sufficient impact to effectively control new or outbreak populations. Quick facts: An ongoing outbreak of mountain pine beetle that started in British Columbia in the early 1990s has affected more than 18 million hectares of forest. The beetle has migrated well beyond its historic range into northern British Columbia and eastward into the boreal forest of north-central Alberta. When a beetle population is low, healthy trees are able to defend and suppress an attack by producing a toxic resin. As more beetles come to a healthy tree, its natural defenses are overwhelmed. Epidemic population levels decline only when all large pine trees are weakened or dead. Beetle populations grow when summers are warm/dry and winters are mild.
Moresty! I need your help! I’m trying to find a waterproof, insulated, lightweight jacket, that fits slim like your Arc'teryx, does but NOT black. All I’m finding are the Arc'teryx jackets that are $600+ any suggestions?? Thanks a lot man!
Incidentally, Canuckistan officials knew in 1987 (don't quote me; it might have been earlier) that the pine beetle was going to eventually jump the Rockies and provide a windfall for the lumber companies. So they didn't get in the way of nature and $$$ just kept rolling.

Love that time lapse video of the stars! I live in the city and seldom see stars plural.
I tried to do baby hill, Mt. Okanagan, with my terrier Lloyd. Every time I stopped to huff and puff, he would use the opportunity to try and run back to the car. Coyote prints everywhere. Rocco is very brave.
Nice manageable day hike. Great views.

All those 10,000' summits were a warm up for when F F. comes back to the American Rockies and it's summits up to 14,000'+.
How was your drone with the altitude Simon? I was in Colorado in August at 12,300 feet and my drone (DJI Mini 2)was not happy. BR John
There are videos on UA-cam of drone photography from the top of Mount Everest, using a drone very similar to his.
Ever consider a little light for Rocko to be better visible?

Wasn't Jim Moresty the lead singer for the Doors?
Is the beetle kill a result of invasive species?
Climate change , beetles surviving winters ?
It is a beetle that came over from Asia on a ship they think
@@philipvallee9969 climate change. OK.
@@niceprguy2 thanks. I think this is worth some follow up clicks.

Hello Moresty. Could you tell me what gloves you were wearing on the summit? Thanks
How did I not know you had a 2nd channel :)

Was that a designated campsite? I saw a little sign with a “3” on it.
Hi 🙋🏿♀️
It's sad about the beetle kill. Everytime I have to take 93S I get so depressed seeing entire mountainsides of dead trees.
