Are the battle born worth the price? Or is there a more affordable alternative that is competitive?

All depends on you and your circumstances. I can say "yes" for me. I have been very pleased with them. They have been in use for a while now and in operation 24/7. Trouble free. I have received awesome customer support from battle born both over the phone, on their website and in person. These batteries of mine have operated in 30 degrees to 115 degrees without issues. I like the design with the connection terminals, there is no chance of damaging the battery when tightening the cables. If you go to their website you can read all about the battery, I like them for all of that also. I am a retired master truck technician however I chose to have a well built battery that their experts designed and built. I have not worried about failures or fires due to batteries. I agree that they are expensive and the most expensive part of my build of the system. But because of them I feel at ease because I never have to think about them. Hope this helps. Have an awesome day.

@@crusin73 We have been thinking of going that route for 3 years now. I'm getting close to needing to make the decision, probably going with battleborn. THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE 💞

Also, will your system run a small minisplit unit?

not sure, I do not have a mini-split to test it. I can say it is good for about 2400 watts, I have run my Dometic 15k A/C units seperatly they both have easy starts installed so the initial start up is less than 1/2 the factory draw. I have never run on the inverter more than one hour while inverting. hope this helps.

@@crusin73 that helped alot! Never heard of easy starts, that draw was a huge concern of mine I appreciate your time.
