This dance holds so much meaning. Look at how Alex always places his hand on his sister's back, supporting her. Look at that move where she "falls" on her knees and he helps her back up again. Look at their mirrored movements, signifying their teamwork. Look at their expressions. Combine that with the song and you really get the emotions of an older brother wanting the world for his sister. You can just feel how much this performance meant to them.
Wow this choreography feels so...pure. so innocent and wholesome yet breathtaking. It's like seeing two children energetically play together in the most elegant way possible. They guide each other like a child pulling their friend along and saying "hey! Look at this!! Isn't it cool!". They feel so curious and full of life. Truly a wonderful performance.
In the Olympics, it’s not hard to find a technically perfect performance, so seeing someone so obviously having fun on the ice is actually rarer on this stage. But the Shibutanis did both without dropping the ball in the slightest. You can just feel all the love and effort coming out, and it makes it a joy to watch.
In my opinion, the Shibsibs were definitely robbed of the silver medal they truly deserved. Their finesse in twizles and step sequences was exceptional. The Shibsibs are sibling goals 😃😃
They were amazing, but they didn't out skate silver. In fact the score difference between the bronze and silver was over 10 points. The french team beat the world record for free dance and only lost the gold because moir and virtue scored higher in the short dance.
Imagine, being able to pursue your dream with your sibling, and best friend. They're so lucky, they've been through so many hardships together, and they're going strong and standing by each other. I hope Maia gets better soon! And I know Alex will be there for her through it all. ❤️

I feel like this was one of the only routines with so much passion and feeling to it. None of the others had that. They took songs from their past best performances (Sochi 2014 I believe...I may be wrong, feel free to correct me), and that made it beautiful and unique. That represented where they came from; it represented how they grew to be such beautiful, graceful, hardworking athletes. They really were robbed of silver and gold tbh. It honestly made so emotional to see the bond between them, the trust and faith they have in each other is outstanding, how they flowed together like one unit and how passionate they were about the routine , they knew the next move by heart like they were reading each other minds, I didn’t see any openings for mistakes they knew precisely what was needed and they delivered ,and I don’t think that would have been possible without them being siblings and amazing bond between them .

It gives me complete goosebumps watching them fly across that ice, fully trusting each other and letting go of everything while hearing Coldplay chanting paradise in the background. They genuinely showed us their paradise. Thank you for this masterpiece.
This whole performance was absolute perfection. All of it is amazing, but the first part, up to 1:30 specifically makes me gasp. The immaculate timing, seamless flowing movement and profound artistry and storytelling in that section was worth the gold in my mind. I’ve seen the gold winning performance and it is spectacular, but to me, it falls flat in the artistic interpretation of the music - they keep moving so quickly and trying to fit in a thousand complicated and impressive steps even when the music slows down and the piece would have seemed to call for more flowing, graceful movements. Alex and Maia flawlessly interpreted the music here and still performed all the steps perfectly. In my mind, exceptional athletes push themselves to do everything that can physically be done; but exceptional artists know that just because something can be done, doesn’t mean it should - they know when and how to move with the music and they BECOME the piece they are performing. Alex and Maia are legendary artists.

I recommend watching the silver and gold as well. This was a tight competition certainly but the French and the Canadians have consistently been the top 2 teams in the world, each of them getting a world record while here. Ice dance is definitely the hardest to understand the scoring because it all looks so good, and I think Gabrielle and Guillaume were probably a little overscored in the short dance, but their free program was fantastic, as were both programs by Tessa and Scott. That being said, Weaver and Poje of Canada are actually my favorite ice dancers overall. Also, if you like Maia and Alex, you should check out their programs from 2016-17 season, they were also fantastic.

i love the sibling relationship and how it blended in the story they were performing, its beautiful
Gorgeous. She is fluid like water.
I'm emotional while watching the video. I could see the story they're trying to give with their performance. It's a perfection! 💕
they’re just so so amazingly peerffecct i can’t stop rewatching them !! 😢💞💞💞💞
If this got bronze I can't imagine how silver and gold were like because this is amazing. REACT channel brought me to this
ncode03 Yeah they definitely deserved silver. But you should watch the gold medal performance. It’s really amazing and beautiful.
Yes I watched silver and gold. Gold is definitely deserved yes I agree, I think bronze looks better than silver performance but then again I don't know anything about ice skating haha
Omg Look up Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (Gold winner) it was gorgeous!!! Sorry...proud Canadian ahaha :)
Tessa ad Scott definitely deserved gold but the Sibs were robbed of silver.
Missing the shibsibs during the 2022 winter olympics but I'm wishing the best for them and hope Maia is feeling better.
This is one of the most beautiful, emotional, and pure performances I’ve seen anywhere.
This genuintly touches my heart in a way it has never been touched before
The joy in their eyes is everything
I just keep going back to their programs whenever the current season starts stressing me out. They are such a refreshing pair to see, freeing and happy
This is the most inspirational thing I have ever seen I watch it once a week :’)
One of my all time favorite Olympic performances to watch, just makes me happy. I think about Maia and Alex's ice dance when I hear "Paradise". It's a joy to see it again here!
i always come back to this performance. it makes me tear up every. single. time. and the first time i watched it i full on cried. they have a chemistry so strong it pulls at my heart and i think this performance is so beautiful.
Dare I say I still think they have better twizzles than ANYONE in the game, including Scott and Tessa? They’re just so clean they give you chills. I just keep coming back to watch this and I get emotional every time.
It's crazy how they can make it look so easy, but they have such beautiful technique ! It was incredibly amazing !!
I can't get tired of watching this.. I think this is one of the best..no THIS is is one of the best figure skating i've ever seen💕
I miss them so much
so effortless the lifts... the sync movements just so on point.... such grace, fitting song... dream like
It really was a glimpse of paradise. I miss them this season
uknowilove there not skating this season?
@@maylily820 yeah, sadly
Best older brother younger sister relationship I've ever seen. I hope I can be this friendly with my brother someday :)
That amount of trust in each other itself deserves a gold. I absolutely love this performance, wonderful.
They were so synchronised and beautiful. The flow of each steps were amazing.
It looks so effortless and elegant ugh I love figure skating
I don't know why am I here and I don't have any knowledge about this sport but this was the most magical thing I ever watched! they are like out of some Disney animation I don't know how many times I watched this
I really love Shibutani siblings❤
Can you imagine how incredible it must feel to have so much trust in someone and be so in sync that you can do a performance like that - I can’t BELIEVE they only got bronze, that performance was FLAWLESS.
I love how they move like they’re extensions of each other. She moves right into things where he holds her like he’s her second pair of legs, and he extends their positions like shes his second pair of arms. It’s beautiful.
The sounds of skates going against ice is just so satisfying and they are doing it so smoothly.....it’s just to satisfying!
For me it's so amazing to see siblings perform such a beautiful routine that shows how they are to each other because me and my brother would NEVER do something like that ahah
I saw this show for the first time and I will remember this forever💕😌
I've watched this performance by the Shubutani sibling's multiple, multiple times. Each time seems like the first time. Excellent!! Love them!!!
