The innocence yet the sensitivity of the child and the helplessness of the parents touches the heart. The child artist is simply amazing. His acting is so natural. So well he has conveyed his emotions just through Expressions. The scene where he sees his friend expecting him to come and talk to him....and then remaining silent and walking away is very well portrayed. The friend at the end quitting the trip while understanding the helplessness of his friend and realising playing football with friend is much pleasure depicts the true essence of friendship. I am simply in love with this child artist. One of the finest movie bi have seen in long time.

I could feel vansh's emotions because I went through the same when I was a child. I understood my parents and the cash crunch they faced but I could not cope up with the annihilation I faced among my peers and the school authority. That was a long time ago but it played a huge role in the low self esteem I posses.
Same happened with me, but now I got into iit Hyderabad.

Syaahi depicts the psyche of a child so beautifully! Within the first 5 minutes,we get a glimpse of how a child takes his first step into the barter system aka the emotional manipulation. The innocence with which the young boy (Vansh) tries to mask his request behind the praise is so relatable and adorable. Funnily enough, we still indulge in this system!
The second aspect underlined in the film is that of friendship and peer influence. The fact that everyone except him is going on the trip,thereby creating a distance between him and his friend forms an impression on his mind. Unable to share the reason, Vansh loses out on his friendship which leads us to the third aspect. The pauses and the power of silence used is to the T! During the course of the movie,we get to see the nature of true friendship when his friend decides to stay back & play football with him.
The 3rd & most imp aspect is the bond between the child and his parents and the conscience of the child. When he realizes the gravity of his act,the fear of being punished shuts him down. In a bid to escape and get some time, he lies. Unable to take in the guilt, he decides to rectify his mistake. The scene wherein the realization of the consequences dawns on him is so aptly performed. Every act, from the lies he says to cover up previous lies and to leaving no stone unturned in hopes of getting it correct takes us back to our childhood. The last 8 minutes are so powerful, the manner in which Vansh tries to sneak past his parents & later admits to his mistake - the acting is superlative! The eyes and his whispered voice strikes straight to the heart. Either of the parents performed as per their role - the mother a tad strict but a shield for her vhild and the father, being the "bad guy"!
The mature manner in which the Father handles the issue and how he realizes the inclination which forced his son to lie is worth praising. The last scene when he wears his son's favourite color attire showcases his love and awareness towards his son & his needs .
Syaahi is a masterpiece of emotions and expressions! We got a good look at a child's emotions and thought process in the 29 minute short film, directed by Varun Tandon.

I don't generally comment. But on this one, I must. It"s such a rich movie! So few words and very little background track but the expressions say it all! Beautiful. It's the highest form of cinematic experience one can deliver. Excellent!! Hands down one the best 30 minutes of my life! Keep making such movies. Please, I beg you. Everyone associated with this movie is a genius. Brilliant work!
Harshit has played the role of a sensitive child, bringing the same gestures on the face, resurrecting the chareacter , which the dynasty has shown in his character , in fact some children are born to kalakar. Excellent Performance 👍👍

I have always loved our Indian Art films and I will always love it. I really loved the child artist for his acting and cuteness.

Kids- all they want is attention and love. Money definitely helps but even with less money you can make your kids happy as long as you don’t take them for granted. What exquisite acting by the lil boy. To see his face smiling in the end was everything!! What wouldn’t I do to see that face smile. Very nice film.
My god, the kid was so depressed. There are a lot of fun stuff parents can do without spending anything, just giving them their time and smiles is enough :)
