I liked him on American Idol. You could kind of tell he was a good guy, I never thought he was the 'best singer' but he had a presence and country was definitely his strong point. I'd like to have heard more from him, wish he had kind of had the machine behind him (back when Idol was a machine), underrated performer. Had a few of my favorite performances that weren't just country on Idol but Simon didn't much like him, always felt it was more personal than professional for some reason. Not just how he critiqued him, but he always looked like he disliked him personally.
