I heard this song a million times but never actually listened to the lyrics. It came up on my Spotify the other day and now I’m hooked! What a perfect way to describe “the good ole days”! I have 2 boys and we try to raise them the way this song is written (though it’s hard due to the internet and such). It truly was a better time in life. So much more pure. The days we’re living in now are poisonous to the children. I’m thankful we live in the south and a lot of this song is still relevant nowadays. Kudos to Bucky for this song. It’s one of the greatest songs I’ve ever heard.
Rhonda Boncutter: I recall that most parents made their children go outside right after breakfast. They thought it was awful for kids to just hang around the house. I remember lots of us would get out (or stay out) in the rain, but we knew how to dress for the weather.

A song from last generation of good country music, damn I miss when this played on the radio alongside songs like "Good Directions," "Amarillo Sky," "Watching Airplanes." Just a few of the ones I remember specifically always playing.
I keep all those songs downloaded on my phone to play whenever. With each passing year, there are fewer & fewer songs that I can "get into". My phone's filled with Gary Allen, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Easton Corbin, Clay Walker, Chris Young and Tracy Lawrence.

Cindi, I'd give up everything what I have and what is to come.. to get back those days.. we lost something every generation...
People who didn't grow up then have no idea how different it really was.
You can say 80s and early 90s too
I absolutely love this song....i get the chills everytime i hear it. I close my eyes and go back to my childhood. Sure wish my kiddos could grow up in the world he is singing about.
Hello Heidi, how’s your weekend going over??
@@alexmilller1972 I know that feeling
I feel you Heidi! I was there with you. I was born in '62. The 60's and 70;s was the best time ever to grow up!
Me too
We tried, then Bil Gates and Steve Wasniack and Steve Jobs happened
I’m 53 , it was a different life and different world, it was a better life , a better time, I have a 19 yr old daughter and 2 year old grandson and I teach at 5th and 6th grade school, nobody will convince me that my childhood wasn’t better, the world today is messed up
I so agree! I am a retired Elementary School Librarian and Special Needs Teacher! Miss those days!

Drinking out of the garden hose when we were playing outside. I remember those days lol
Remember, had to let it run for a few minutes to cool off?!
May contain lead lol we still here lol
Yeah, had to let it run for a minute so it could cool off! I played outside for hours at a time! We played tag, played Volley ball over my bicycle! Loved beinging outside!
I remember then, had to let water run for a minute till it cooled off!
How much time did you stay in the house during the summer?
Yeah when I was a kid we had chores. No video games. (Only had one TV) had a bicycle. And big dreams.
I loved growing up when I was a kid, born in 1953! We played outside, rode bikes, played Volleyball over a bicycle! We weren't scared, my whole street had so many kids, we were all friends! Those were the good old days!
I remember Rhonda----born in '52---------simple and good times
@@greeneyelady56 Yes they were! I'd gladly go back to Then!
So would I!!!!
I was born in 57, I loved the 60's and early 70's. I would give anything just to go back for a few days. I think about it everyday, and it's so sad what this world has become.
@@rosethorne5066 Yeah, my granddaughter is 11, never got to do the things I did as a kid! Made sure my daughter born in 1981, still got to have fun! I got out and played wiffle ball baseball games on 4 corners of our street, coached her softball team! She, (We) had fun!
I’m black and love this kind of music. I actually grew up on Good ole Bucky
Why do you think people of color doesn't like this song? We all are one, you either like it or you don't! I have a very blended family and love them all! Be who you want to be, like music you like, I never as a kid knew why there was a difference, and at age 66, still don't! Love my big old blended Family and I think we are up to 18 now with new babies! Life is for living! Love what you love!
Welcome to the music, it does not see color! I have a blended family, love them all!
I have a blended family! The color of your skin means nothing to me! God Bless and I love you!
How did you grow up on Bucky? He's only just turned 18.
David Waring he just turned 42
65 yo here and this video with the images hits hard. Unfortunately that world has been replaced with evil klown world.
I was just looking at my childhood home in NH, a small ranch home built in 1952. My parents paid $14k, dad was in the Air Force. The house is now valued at $513k. American dream is gone. I had to move overseas in retirement to afford life.
I'd take those days back in a heartbeat!
Me too
Who else grew up drinking from a garden hose and every Sunday All the stores were closed ??
STILL DO AT 62 WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES
Boen in 1953, it really was a different world! I miss it!
Thus guy would have ruled in the 90's. He is amazing
Still listening in 2022. It was definitely a different world. 🙏
I am a retired School Teacher, worry about kids today! Life on the streets is not safe! I never knew that fear! God Bless us all!
Hello Rhonda 👋 Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..
@@murphycormac3089 It did! Thanks!
Fortunately, I’ll be “here” regardless of what year it is
People nowadays really need to give this a listen
This one brings tears to my eyes. God bless Bucky for writing this amazing song.
It def makes you sad i miss those days dearly only if i could relive em
Oh, I would gladly go back to those days as a kid!
Billy Elson I agree with you100%!!
Dear God dude...you are sooo right! It don't get any better than this..hell yeah 🇺🇸
It brings a year to my eyes too
I grew up to this. Literally. I was a trouble making heathen growing up, and through it all, I didn't turn out too bad. Kids today have no clue how easy they have life. Participation trophy's, Everyone's a winner, Awards for everything, Protective gear for bike riding, not having to eat if they don't like certain foods, shoot.......... If they only knew.........
I did it all, Playing outside, Drank from a garden hose, Bikes with no helmets, No seatbelts, And definitely Daddy's belt more than a few times
@@tomcarpenter700 Amen. And I now suffer from a condition known as respect for my elders
You ate what was put in front of you
Anybody ever heard this, Stop that crying, Or I'll give you something to cry about
How about this, You apologize right now, Or you will be eating dinner standing up
"All we had were friends...and they were outside...we played OUTSIDE!" Ah I love this song, takes me back to my childhood
We turned out better than out Kids today.😊😎
@@sheilacook7053 I agree. These kids today don't know what to do without technology. Don't get me wrong I love my phone/computer, but as a child I couldn't imagine having that kind of life. I grew up on a farm surrounded with all my cousins and we worked in tobacco/garden whatever needed to be done, but we were never bored. LOL Best memories of my life, honestly. :)
@@sheilacook7053 Yes we did!
Now a days you cant. Because of the sicko criminals
And if ya were thirsty, there was the hose! Had to let it run for a few minutes! We had fun!
I'm 16 but I grew up like this. Rode my bike without a helmet, went outside and played, ran all around town without having to worry. When I was a little kid you couldn't keep me in the house.
This song may be 12 years old; but the story of my childhood will live on forever through the words in this song❤️
It’s actually 16 years old which is crazy how relevant it is to today
I wish we could get back to that different world when people cared about each other. I will be 77 in about 2 weeks and that was some good times growing up in the 50s and 60s.
Happy early birthday, may you be blessed to see many more. And you were fortunate to grow up in those days. 42 years old here and honestly I can say the good ole days like those times are long gone behind us now. Crazy how the world is these days. It’s a crying shame honestly.
Thanks for your reply. You are right, those days are gone. May you be blessed with long life , good fortune and most of all happiness.
@@JimmieWomack Amen, thank you! Same to you, God bless🙏🏻
This Song brings back SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES!! Never ever gets Old! So Thankful I was lucky enough to grow up in the 80's. Those were the day's.🤗😉
Agreed, 80s the best decade.
I was born in 1984 and raised in the 90s I really miss those days
I was born in the 50's and grew up with the best of music!
I used to go out for karaoke, and one guy would sing this song every night. It was my first time hearing it.
"not every kid made the team when they tried" this needs to come back
So true and not give Trophies to Everybody
Amen I agree
Not every kid does
Tim here what you doing. Hit me up on Facebook
i so agree with this statement even though i play sports in today's time. i didnt think kids should be babied in sports. if they wanna play they need to show that they are better than what the coaches think they are.
.. "They who can give up essential Liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin
What 😳!!!!! I think this is sarcastic
I was born in 1980. I would go back to my childhood in a heartbeat.
Although I am only 16 I still love this song... It shows how much the kids of this generation are spoiled with their cell phones, tv, computers, and video games.
I ain't got video games or a tv I hardly want one
Dude I'm from sasachewan and I ain't no spoiled brat. got 16 years on the farm
Obviously he's talking about the majority
In the summer, no kids are playing outside, inside with their video games!
Amen to that brother, I am from a small town called Marienville, it is in NW Pennsylvania. Nothing better than Small Town USA.
This brings tears to my eyes just thinking of those great ol days!!I so blessed to have grown up then in a semi rural area where a kid could still be a kid... Best days of my life!
I'm 65 and still miss those days, they were the greatest 😢
Sometimes your childhood memories is something to never forget but sometimes it's something to hold on too " priceless "
I love this song, and Bucky does it excellent, everything about him matches the song perfectly...
Boy it sure was a different world, I was born in 63 and I saw and remember the different(much better) world, at least I was blessed enough to live it...
WE ALL GOT DADDY'S BELT WHEN WE MISS BEHAVED.
HE MADE US OBEY HIM.
IT WAS DICIPLINE.
" not just a different time, but a different world ". Sometimes these country boys just sing the truth -
Love it
Yes we do
Yep
A song about the years I was growing up. Remember the times well
I miss these days!😪Thank you Bucky!❤
We as kids had so much fun, we didn't stay inside! We played outside! Life was so free! Had fun! Will always love this song!
Rhonda Boncutter: I recall that most parents made their children go outside right after breakfast. They thought it was awful for kids to just hang around the house. I remember lots of us would get out (or stay out) in the rain, but we knew how to dress for the weather.
My name is Nick and I’m 14 but I’m in high school and we haven’t said the pledge of allegiance for years and I was raised the right way I feel like this world has gone downhill so much recently it’s truly disappointing.
Nick, so sorry you didn't grow up back then! It was wonderful!
Lord I wish those days would have lasted forever. This song explains what's wrong with the new generation.
Does any one else remember when no stores were open on Sunday?
and closed on Wednesday afternoons for prayer meetings..??? yes i am that old and this song brings back the boy in me ... Great job Bucky !!! love it
Love this song, too!
yes I do....Life was much better back then.
YES
I am not sorry for my age, I grew up in good times! Kids played!
It was a different world
A song from last generation of good country music, damn I miss when this played on the radio alongside songs like "Good Directions," "Amarillo Sky," "Watching Airplanes." Just a few of the ones I remember specifically always playing.
God I agree it's sad when I can say country music has gone to crap
nemesisgenius omg just got reminded of this song by two dozen roses!!
Back in the day when times seemed a lot more innocent for the kids. I miss those days. Where in the heck did they go?
Kids today will never understand. We didnt own much but we had it all
We didn't own much but we were RICH in friends and fun and adventures galore.

I miss those days. I wish I could go back to the simpler times.
To all saying we were born in the wrong generation, I urge you we were not. We were built to persevere the old generation for the next one. We must stand firm to those old values that they are trying to take away. This is why we are here today.
this was my grandmothers favorite song we litterly listened to it everyday rip 🙏 💔 😢 ❤ 😪 I miss her so much but ik she's in a better place now rest in peace❤
