Every polar bear documentary has the words "hungry, starving, barren and cold". It's a mystery how they grow to be the largest land mammals
The secret is called seal blubber
It's how much they have to fight to survive the reason that when they grow up they are able to thrive
Not the biggest land mammal but still a good point
largest land carnivores
not mammals
Elephants are bigger. Guess you mean land mammalian predators
They're so cute and to think they are one of the few animals that see us humans as food haha scary.

If only the bear family's knew how to communicate that they want to share
not in their dna
Maybe they don´t want to share. Then it wouldn´t make any difference if they knew how to communicate it. And they probably do, by the way. But their existence is based even more on dominance than ours is. It´s usually "to each their own" in the animal kingdom, unless we are talking herd animals.

Yes the BBC is horrible at making false narratives for each little animal story! He'll just look at the clip from 3:37 there are a minimum of four separate families in that shot all laying right next to each other sleeping and not paying any attention to each other. If you ever see any footage of these whale sites there are literally dozens of polar bears some of them playing with each other. They tend to have little aggression was so much food available.
dean nelson probably wasn’t food agression but ‘motherly’ aggression. They were the smallest family and the mom was probably just telling the others to piss off

So I'm not the only one who was thinking that :D
I don't think they are really that dirty. You see, polar bears' fur isn't white, but transparent. Each hair is hollow, and it reflects light. Because ice reflects all wavelengths of color, it appears white, and polar bears are the whitest when there's direct sunlight on them, as well as with snow. Because there's few snow and little sunlight, their fur appears to be dirty and brown, but actually it absorbs more light than it reflects. ;D

@@deannelson9565 He doesn't ignore the fact that polar bears are growing in number, actually if you watched our planet this is mentioned and explained.
@@bradleywoods3742 And why did they do that in that particular show? Cuz they caught holy hell. From the expert community about the way they made the polar bears plite out to be during frozen planet! It's no different than when they tried to make it sound like two thirds of the Great Barrier Reef had died off due to bleaching in one of their episodes.
@@deannelson9565 I wouldn't be so sure that polar bears are going to continue this seeming "time of plenty". Their population will plateau and eventually start to decrease as more and more of the sea ice starts retreating. The main reason why they were and still are doing very well is due to less poaching/hunting and the thin sea ice makes it far easier for them to find seal pups which is a large part of their diet. This is consistent with the harp seal populations which is currently declining.
I thought coral reefs were dying? 50% of them have already died off, not just from bleaching.
@@bradleywoods3742 where are you coming up with harp seals population decline? It's currently around 7 million of them compared to around 2 million back in 1980.
