I think it's the other way around. In the books, Thomas developed feelings for Brenda and saw Teresa as a friend but in the movies, Thomas was clearly in love with Teresa. He was hung up on her and even shared a kiss with her just before she died. That didn't happen in the book
I shipped them so much and then I hated what she did in the second movie so I shipped him with the other girl but watching this brought back feelings--
