This is one of the very, very few YT channels that actually feels like a legit TV channel. Awesome hosts, great content and a total vibe on the intro. I love it. I work during the week, but have started pinning the movies for the weekends. Awesome work. I LOVE it.
I love the old black and white movies. I use to stay up on a Friday and Saturday night watching them, when everyone else was asleep. ❤
I remember buying this on VHS in 1990 when I was doing film studies at university. I became obsessed with Film Noire and used to buy movies of the genre with a passion. This is an absolute gem of a movie.
Still love B&W movies above colour any day of the week 🙂
Creature Features TV just keeps getting better! Currently watching the old Ghost Story series. It’s hard to find these great old shows. Thanks Vince and family!
"The Spiral Staircase."
A classic film.
You don't want to miss this since this is the first fright of the October - Halloween season :)
I love Halloween. Hacienda del Hickman is one of the few households around here that still gives out bags of candy. I might have only a couple of trick-or-treaters, but they are going to leave happy. And it gives me an opportunity to put on some makeup and a costume and do my own horror host schtik.
@@troyhickman4904 You can be sure that me and Gertrude will be out there welcoming the kiddies :) I mean, who can't resist Gertrude's grin :)
@@janetcraftWhen I first moved into this house, I went pretty Halloween crazy, and I didn't give out fun size candy bars, or even full size candy bars,. Along with everything else in the trick or treat bags, I put king size candy bars. I must have been the most popular guy in the neighborhood, next to that young woman down the street who always leaves her blinds open...
A superb film from RKO when Dory Sharey was in charge. He would eventually leave RKO to work at MGM. Hadn't seen this film for a few years. Thanks for showing it.
Amazing Classic "Book To Movie!"! I still have the original Paperback!! Gonna be GREAT! THANK YOU!
You guys are getting better and better. Who needs cable tv and streaming services....? Thank you so much!
Love this movie good to see it again
I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it, but my vertigo gets triggered if I even see a spiral sliced ham...😵💫
😂😂😂❤
I love your comment, spiral ham! 😅
😂😂😂😂👍👍
Holy crap🐷
You must have a hard live 😅
Now this why I love your channel and I keep coming back gems like this film i would never found with out you, thanks for sharing
This is a VERY good movie!
I love the movie!! You guys rock!!
Great movie!! I didn't fell asleep on this one!
Two great movies in a row :)!
Francesca Maria, thank you for dropping by to our Chat Room! It was a pleasure seeing you there.
Please visit us again :)
Thanks to YOU all for dropping by - have a safe and great week ahead!
Good night to all :)
One of my favorite Dorothy McGuire movies, is 1945's "The Enchanted Cottage", co-starring Robert Young. If you ever get the chance to watch it, do. 😉
It is being offered here on UA-cam. I just put it in the queue.
Both are classics for me but this is my fav D.M. ... perfect cast, script etc.
@@sherryw1919 , great! I look forward to seeing it. Thank you
Ah, yes, I have seen The Enchanted Cottage.
What is queue? Is it easy to use and to save?
A true classic, filmed by Oscar ("I Remember Mama") nominee Nick Musuraca. Best known for being a proponent of chiarascuro, or using light and shadows in film, his career dates back to the silent film era, filming many a Tom Tyler silent western for FBO. Nick also filmed "The Cat People" (1942) and "The Locket" (1946).
This is an old classic movie l first watched it when l was a young teenager, thanks for the memories, you guys are the best ❤👍👏👏👏🥰
Not too bad -- slow, but a good psychological thriller. And any movie with Elsa Lanchester can't be too bad!
The Bride of Frankenstein
Have the crypt keeper as a guest
Wow that was a terrific movie!
Great movie. Saw this movie over 12 years ago.
The director Robert Siodmak was very versatile, he made "The Crimson Pirate" with Burt Lancaster, one of the funniest movies i ever saw as a kid. (On TV, i´m not THAT old.) This one, The Crimson Pirate an The Killers are his best for me.
I really enjoyed this movie. Thankyou for the chance to see it.
A solid "film noir" murder mystery before the genre & term became popular. Can't go wrong with old school.
❤ the movie and love the hosts! ❤
Nice old black and white thriller. ❤️🙂
This was the first play that I remember going to see when I was a kid. My older sister was in it. I think I was in 1 st grade in 1980 at the time.
The Spiral Staircase (1946): A young mute woman who is working in a New England mansion as a domestic is terrorized by a maniac who is killing off people with disabilities. After being warned of the danger to her personal safety she makes plans to leave the dark old house, but it is too late. The maniac is in the house, and she is his prey.
👀!
🖐🖐🖐 NICE...Thankyou !! 😊😊😊
One of the best Creatures Features films yet.
Great, classic flick. Don't be turned off by its age.
I think the cook is Kathy Bates in another life and did anyone notice that this frail young girl is expected to walk home 2 miles thru the wods alone in the women's cloths of the day.
Awesome, being introduced to a horror writer
Vince , this is a fantastic flick and in this case, the black and white enhances it.
You guys are awesome.
Great to see the lovely and spooky Francesca Maria.
This movie is so cool. Creature Features so totally rock!
Hope you guys are ok with the Hurricane Milton rolling through Tampa area.......Bless you all......be safe
Great movie 🍿 👍🏻 🎥 🎦
With Elsa lanchester you can't go wrong. ❤❤❤
Superb atmospheric flick. You wont see the end coming.
Brilliant movie
Great thriller🙀As Francesca was mentioning her place when growing up, and Vincent’s Manor, gave memories to me about many haunted houses I’ve ever lived in, and one family I knew had a rot iron fence just like in the movie here, and a three story red brick mansion on a hill, My meeting the family one day, I was walking home from a friend’s house and got lost along the cornfields on either sides of the road, being eight years old, finally found their house with big trees all around and a huge barn across from their house, it was scary but I was tired, and knocked on their big door and a sweet couple invited me in, and they drove me home. Not long after their big mansion burned to the ground. They had a mischievous son they claimed did it. Later a trailer replaced it. Loved their family.
Thx folks ❤
Love the bedroom set.❤
Well made 1940's murder mystery which will have you on the edge of your seat and asking the question..."who is it what done it?"
I sit on the edge of my seat a lot, but that's because I have poor butt placement skills...
This is actually a remake of the film but I have never seen it from the edge of my seat or otherwise!
fine actors!
Great episode
I like tangeiia dancing and her and Vincent sense of humour makes me laugh a scary mystery murder film
Türkçe altyazı lütfen !! Teşekkürler 🎉❤
3 … 3 … remakes of this movie…… (according to IMDb) how have I never heard of or watched this?
This is the original.
@@janetcraft yep
@@wmbriggz Yep :)
I get the feeling this may be the original...
@@troyhickman4904 yep
Holy Cow!!😢
You should try to get the movie "White Zombie" to show on Creature Features
25:42 -- I have a cat like that. The cat likes to live dangerously. Constantly threads between your legs and runs in front of you while you walk. Sigh. The goofy bastard.
Dorothy McGuire was such a cutie.
"Stay tuned!" Vincent
I love Creature Features so much. The Spiral Staircase is one of my favorite black and white horror flick of 1946. Along with King of the Zombies🧟♂️🧟♀️is one of my favorite black and white zombie horror parody flick of 1946. And I just can't wait to see a new hulu original horror movie Mr Crocket, for this Friday night, and finally, I just can't wait to see a 2016 cult slasher flick "Terrifier" on the new 9th season premiere of Creature Features on October 26th, 2024, yeah!?
I would like to watch but we have paramount and Netflix, have to change to Netflix with ads because it was much too expensive.
@@matthewnewman2077 yeah, me too! Especially Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian and Scott Pilgrom Takes Off are now streaming on Netflix, and, of course, Star Trek First Contact is now streaming on Paramount+, for this Halloween🎃night🌙, yeah!?
@matthewnewman2077 that's right! I already watched all the great horror movies on Tubi, for the all-new Terror on Tubi, by every October.
first Handrew with the pop-corn, now Livingston with his cakes. seems Tangella has an appetite for ruining others' enjoyment of food.
; D
I get high anxiety thinking about this😂😂
No creature in this one, but it's a great movie.
Hey, human beings are creatures...myself especially..
@@troyhickman4904 point taken!
Is there an ... Abstract Parallel here ... as to the Famous Spiral Staircase ...
Mysteriously , constructed by an ...
Angel ❔
They just read my letter
Congratulations, that's awesome, how exciting!
Cool. That CF shrine was inTense!
The cook, Elsa Lanchester. The Bride of Frskenstein! Charles Laughten her husband.
Elsa Lanchester was also in Mary Poppins, she played Katy Nana.
Impressive cast all around, but yea she's a classic fav.
This looks good. I love Nancy Drew. Bet it is roughly based on it but good anyway
Clockwise or counterclockwise. This is the question. I guess it depends on if one is a Mason or not. If you see Nessie let me know.🎉
Wow, little hard on Tangella about her film script. Thought you might encourage her! Vincent needs a time out to reconsider.
I don't suppose Tangella would be willing to go with me to pass out resumes. Then, accompany me to a job interview. Then, perhaps join me for the first month at the new job, whatever it may be!
❤❤❤👻😊
night of the grizzly i was a young boy first time i seen it withe the whole family rest in peace ma pa and stopes high creatures
I always think of the young girl as the mom from Rich Man, Poor Man
I’ll watch but I’ll keep my mouth shut 🤐
I see what you did there, Harpo Marx...
Why even say that. Just keep your mouth shut period enda
Wasn't this a Nancy Drew book? I remember reading it when I was a kid...🤔🤔
Yep. Probably loosely based on it. I read constantly as a kid. At one time I owned every single Nancy drew book there was
this is also a good film
After Blanche has an argument with Steven, she goes into Helen's room to talk to her. Whilst Helen is packing her suitcase, she takes a picture frame off the nightstand and lays it on the bed twice.
Good catch Del-Canada. I tend to notice those types of things also. In The Wizard of Oz, when the four of them are talking to the Wizard, one shot has Dorothy in one spot, then it cuts and when it goes back to the line up, the order is wrong. Can't remember exactly what minute it is at, but after you notice it, you see it every time! Still one of my favorite films of all time though!
Hey 👋👋 😊
I love Grimm life oh my gosh.
Wow
The movie housekeeper looks just like the CF housekeeper!!
I think the CF Housekeeper is way prettier and skinnier and much younger than the movie housekeeper!
Horror writer guest. Hopefully Vincent asks good questions.
Just bought this movie last week and haven't had time to watch it yet, until now!!! Gary Bailey KingofDarkness
Popcorn run
🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 Same ... plenty for everyone! 😊
I make mine with olive oil, tasty and healthy!
Mrs O’Connor needs to get her dusting skills in order! The floor and tabletops off to Vincent’s left during the breaks look like my house! Someone needs a Swiffer…😂
This movie just confirms my thoughts on Tangela not speaking; it can be a very alluring trait in a woman, as I’m sure most women believe it to be in a man.🤣
LIKE 107. Can you dig it? :)
Vincent,...YOU SAID Tangella Did some TALKING at the beginning of this movie,..Well? Where is it? WTH? ???
"At 10pm" and im in the mountain time zone.😂😮😂 does YT have enough "I" (artificial or better) to make that
"My timezone"?
Or is this "Bodega Bay time"🎉😂🎉?
Is Ethil Bereymore related to Drew?? Just curious,,,50 first dates,, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore,,,she was also a Charlie's angel 😇 90s movie remake $$$
Yes. Ethel Barrymore was John Barrymore’s (Drew’s grandfather ) sister. So that would make Ethel Drew’s great-aunt
Watching Svengoolie instead
Why instead?! This just started and Sven has been done for 90 minutes.
Swingin with Sven!
@@Joematria Incorrect, Svengoolie is a double feature for the entirety of October per usual!
This movie would’ve been nice in Technicolor
❤❤❤❤❤
Does Tangella have an identical cousin who blathers all the time?
Francesca Maria is pretty.
More like one of those murder mystery whodunits in that classical NOIR prime time black n white suspense nuances of a mad killer! Than any graphic violent terror feature! 9:58
The staircase was not, in fact, spiral... pretty horrifying.
Helen was played by a young Elisabeth Montgomery and the title refers to an important scene.
Dorothy McGuire, listed in the credits, looks a lot like Elizabeth Montgomery, but EM was only 12 when this film came out. DM has a long film career up to 1990.
@@JuraiEmperorI can see that. Either way, very similar.
Watching people watching a movie lol
This is the 3rd time showing this SMFH
We've never shown this film.
1st time dude. You must be moonlighting at another place, eh?
❤☠️
CUT THE INTERVIEW BITS
Be careful of random stairs in the woods,,, don't go near them look up missing 411 and stair cases and mystery disappearances David Pulidus ,, probably not spelled correctly but great mystery of true stories,, indeed fascinating
Incorrectly I meant opps prof read !!!
Lol
Missing 411 & staircases? Lol According to who? One of those alien conspiracy-type shows? Lots of people disappear & are never found but I’m sure it has nothing to do with staircases in the woods. Dig deeper & mysterious stairs in the woods are mostly a myth & there is no proof whatsoever anyone vanished while climbing one. It’s fun to pretend to believe, though’
I swear, Francesca Maria is two of four names of Dot Warner from Animaniacs
It is! 😂
howdy
