The Reasons Why Microsoft NOT Releasing Windows 12 in 2024 : - The Windows 11 Version of Windows Server hasn't been Released yet like Server 2025. The last Version of Server 2022 is still based on Windows 10 GUI. - Windows 11 LTSC hasn't been Released yet. LTSC Version of Windows is still Windows 10. - There are still many Legacy UI Codes/Elements that are still in Windows 11. - Maybe, Microsoft is still developing the Next Version of Windows with a New Kernel Technology, and it would be a take long time until at least in 2025 or 2026. Perhaps later, Dilithium and Selenium Builds are for developing a Beta Version of Windows 12. - Now, Microsoft is more focusing on AI Features in Windows 11 like Copilot and AI Explorer this Year in 2024. - Dilithium Builds still has no development progress, and hasn't Rolled out to Insider Channels and Canary Channel is still on Germanium which is on Build 262xx. Whereas, Dilithium, is possibly already on Build 27xxx.
@@marcsheinberg6487 changing GUI? Never have I seen an os with the ability to change GUI. Probably android with themes. But that just changes the icons
I think Windows 12 is still Unclear. Because nowadays, Dilithium Builds hasn't had any Progress and hasn't Rolled out to the Insider Channel. Until August 2024, these are the Insider Channels that were Rolled out by Microsoft : - Canary Channel : 262xx (Germanium) - Dev Channel : 26120 (24H2/Germanium) - Beta Channel : 22635 (23H2/Nickel) - Release Preview : 26120 (24H2/Germanium)
A couple points, recommend using intelligence when choosing windows version(s): 1. I use XP, Server 2003, Win7, and Win10 with NO problems at all. 2. I bought a windows 11 laptop and upgraded it to windows 10. The user interface is much better, and it still has the features and frequently used interface features that people USE.
honestly, im kinda bummed out we aren't getting windows 12 in a while (because that means we're stuck with the limited 11 design) but I kinda like how they're sticking to an odd number. it's like windows will never be actually finished or complete
MS have everything to win if they had the guts and made a lite version of windows with minimal running processes mainly for gamers where the users could download additional software when needed for a small fee connected to the installation of the actual windows key.
they anounced for windows 12 September or October 2025 Since Microsoft has announced that it has moved to an annual feature update cadence for its OS, the next logical time for Windows 12 to arrive will be around September or October 2025, tidily corresponding with the end of life for Windows 10.
Or you can grab a separate SSD and install Linux Mint cinnamon into it and make steps towards leaving Windows behind You've had a third operating system World option for easily more than 10 years now. It's not like that's ever been a secret
I stopped using PCS when Windows 7 was no longer supported. I refused to use eight and above because it’s bloatware. After finally getting it right with Windows 7 Microsoft screwed the pooch. I went to Mac and I never looked back.
I think they need to finish windows 11 before they worry about a 12th version lol. Most of win11 is still win10 with a little window dressing. At least finish porting the old control panel etc over to win11 before starting down the road on another OS nobody is going to want to use. I use win11 because I have to for my customers, if it weren't for that I'd still be on 10 or even linux.
I don't want to be that person again but, If you're someone who loves computers and like to have better security, less telemetry and full control over your hardware, there is literally no reason to stay on Windows anymore, Just install Linux mint.
yup it was 100% install and use zero issues. ID go further and say screw intel too, they are pumping out hot garbage now. Go AMD as its also EXTREMELY compatible with linux.
I stay because it looks cool. The bloatware isn't even that annoying. And Microsoft also tries to implement more security features. For me, Linux just seems like windows 8 that's modernized to windows 10
If I'm still bound by work to use Windows next October I'll get a SFF box for that. My gaming beast will stay on Win 10 for several more years. I'll continue to dabble with Linux and see where that leads. I do have a Mac, but very rarely use it - Apple are already what Microsoft are trying to become. Hopefully I can bring my 386 back to life and escape into Elite Plus and WordPerfect. Failing that my Amstrad CPC still works and has Protext on ROM. That might be the best system for my writing - distraction free. Of course it's possible that Win 12 will be great, but I very much doubt it. Microsoft have almost certainly sunk too far into their hole to emerge and redeem themselves.

Judging by how well the Windows 11 24H1 and 24H2 releases have gone I don't think we will see a Windows 12 release until 2030 or 2035!
Exactly why do we need a new Windows version? Can't MS just produce a new GUI and let us toggle back to the old one?
oh? so you want to use windows 1.0
It's a game that keeps people paying for what they already have.

Linux is so great I'm watching Windows videos. Yeah....
I love Microsoft, but I still hope and pray for a finished operating system 🙏
With a pointer-based file system like on Amiga in 1985, you can fill a disk without 10% loss for the table of contents. ;)
I hope they fix the aweful search results in windows 12, tho i think they won't
I just want the classic start menu back for a redesigned version aimed at desktop users.
Windows 12 will be a worse nightmare than Windows 10 and 11
It will be a privacy rights disrespecting turdof an operating system just like the past three versions. Nothing new

So I need to struggle with my old W10 laptop until end of support in the hope of skipping over 11?

What struggle? I struggled to use 11 because they took away a lot that I use. Upgraded to win10 and what I use is BACK. To STAY.
So what will happen with AMD 5000, 7000 and 8000 series CPU's? Not to mention Intel 12, 13 and 14 gen ones? Surely they'll be supported?
Microsoft said windows 10 will be the last Windows. I go no further than that. I watch and observe....
I do the same thing, except I'm still on Windows 7 😁

Fix battery life on Linux and I'll think about it.

Honestly most businesses will probably just stay on windows 10. To much bloat and “ai” garbage in the operating system.
