This patch comes with some meaningful changes to the core gameplay.

This patch almost made this game look like a FighterZ 2
We already said that after S2, so it's FighterZ 3 at this point

I really wasn't sure how I felt about most of the system changes but now that I can see how to work around and punish them. I think they are much better! Especially the block vanish!
Man, this patch is helping me so much, especially the one that helps doing re jumps feels amazing
@@MonkeyCookieClicker can you explain how it helps with rejumps? Does it autotime superdash or something?
@@Sami-jd2yj some characters need to dash jump/superjump during a rejump combo. Now they don't have to fiddle with their controllers as much, making it much more accessible.
The meter gain after ex i got some mixed feelings since tods are more accesible from a less starting meter
Could you also do side-by-side comparisons for buffed/nerfed characters, next?

@@franciscovaldes4107 that’s sounds like a server issue. I wouldn’t classify that as a gameplay issue. Which is what I’m talking about in terms of rating it one of the best fighting games ever. Online on any fighting game can use some improvements. I haven’t played one flawless one.

All the new block changes is really cool.
The one thing I never liked about Fighterz was sitting in the corner while the opponent just wails on you. It’s why I liked watching Fighterz instead of playing it.
@Jasher Belton Holding back for 20 seconds at a time while your opponent tries to put you in a cutscene that takes 80% of your life isn't fun for most people, regardless of skill level.
@Jasher Belton it has less with you doing good and just having bad match ups. all fighting games don't treat characters the same in terms of quality of moves. even if 2 characters legit have the same move,at the same range and power one characters moves will be superior over all. GT vs bardock is a great example: if GT has you locked in the corner and uses his ex lariat and you block he recovers slower than bardock would even though GT's lariat range is less than bardock's. So I agree with getting good at the game but that's not all there is too it it's a very heavily character dependent type of game (as most anime fighters are) and that creates inbalances in which characters are given better treatment over others.

@Jasher Belton No, most good fighting games with massive combo strings that can determine the match off of one mistake have enough defensive mechanics beyond blocking to ensure that holding back isn't your only option.
FighterZ including more defensive options is a good thing, and telling people to get good or to stop playing when these mechanics allow more people to enjoy the game is unbelievably telling of your attitude.
@Jasher Belton sorry I didn't mean it like the tier of characters is the sole reason to being locked down in the corner(I'm not very good and I dont really get locked down like that) I meant that even if you are really good not having certain abilities like ki blast or full screen safe options limits how you interact and react to other characters. GT is a good example, he has a full screen option but its not safe on whiff at all but bardock,vegeta,broly their ki blast and beams are safer than GT on block(I'm not saying you can't use GT beams but is it worth it in comparison to other characters? Same thing goes for gogeta blue for his beam) but I agree with you generally speaking if youre an actual good player (that doesn't rely on character mechanics) getting locked down is on you.

Yo the tag after super attack patch is so fire. That alone just made this game that much more fun. Also happy c assist got nerfed
My first few games on after the patch was downloaded, I saw nothing but C-assists. Like 5 different players had 2 or 3 C-assists. People did not care about that nerf bruh lol. I was so mad too. All 5 of those first players were really toxic about it.
@@slyreject8370 Honestly the C assist nerf was really only targeting low-mid level players. The cooldown was already enough reason to not run C assists. Now it's just even less viable.
@@slyreject8370 i feel kinda bad, everyone under 400k points runs all c assists and it's so annoying. When you reach supreme kai, you'll see ppl drop c assists. If you're above supreme kai, what platform do you play on? Most of those players are trash
@@gigaspin6595 exactly I am an orange square demon and even tho it isn't high level i don't use c assists anymore (i also removed the one i had when the patch dropped and added black with a assist) and usually my opponents are from 400k to 800k bp

I’m brand new to the game but it’s hard to imagine it without this update. The game clicked when I found that you can Bandit Bringer with Beerus, tag to DBS Broly into air throw seamlessly. It’s so freaking fun to do. I’m discovering other special tag combos with my free time. Insane to think this game didn’t have this before now.
Now, THIS is a live service DONE RIGHT! THIS is what I wanted to see from a LIVE SERVICE! Not road maps, not promises, not microtransactions but DLC AND FREE UPDATES!

Your suggestion of just hold the superdash button for rejumps is great advice. I was trying to hold S and reach for M with my thumb lol

Also guys if you use the super dash button (or special+heavy) to do a quick dash on the floor you still get the super jump property making the moon jump easy

Damn I feel like I can actually have fun playing the game now. Not that i didn't have fun b4 but I'm not a 3v3 type of fighting gamer and learning combos feels like too much of a commitment. This new stuff reminds me of storm 4 so I feel like I could still get away with not learning how to use my team to kill off of straight combos
Nah you should still 100% be learning decent combos if you wanna enjoy this game. The new defensive mechanics don't change that.

...i guess that the devs looked at it and decided that the meta was getting annoying. no matter the character, most ToD's involve looping until a kill can be guaranteed and then using a level 3 with hard knock down to swap in extra level 1 supers. this LOOKS broken as hell, and honestly it is. the amount of combo extension this can potentially provide is just stupid. but i guess they wanted to give people the ability to decide whether to save meter or spend it where as before there were simply too many situations where you had to spend bar or let the character live.
I was thinking how crazy these changes are, too. Not all bad, but some just that’ll inevitably make the game seem more ridiculous. I think the game was better off without this patch, but that’s just my opinion.
More like meter gain cooldown after EX is reduced; a few characters before the patch had little meter gain after EX but after a few seconds it ends
