Dony. Many thanks. I am just getting ready to do my right rear bearing and replace a broken knuckle on an older Arctic Cat 400 auto 4x4. Man, this vid was just what I needed on thinking through the disassembly. I like your methodical process. Very profesional. Thanks and I am looking forward to seeing any tips in the re-assembly.
Awesome! This video just taught me some great stuff! I have to replace the guts in my front wheels for my 4 wheel drive and this helped show what I'll be dealing with! Thanks as always and good health to you guys!
That's a great video, Dony. It's especially fun to watch this done in the smaller size of an ATV. I'm a little puzzled by the diagnosis. In a car, when the wheel wobbles at 12:00 and 6:00 it's usually a loose ball joint, not just a wheel bearing.... With two wheel bearings separated by a spacer, I presume ATV bearing take on more lateral stability?
Thanks donny :-) Another great tutorial :-) Parts washers are great, i used to use one and an auto repair shop, and an airline terminating in the typical lever gun just wizzed off the majority of the fluid :-)
Got my bearings an seals.goona change mine out. I just watched the video just to remember what all i had to take off,Now moving on to your Part 2 Thanks
I have a question. I recently bought a used 2009 rancher and when i checked the bearings there is a small amount of play. Not sure if its worth changing yet. How much play should there be for concern? Thx and awesome videos!
I never let the play be anymore then a 1/4in or so. I also wouldn't use all balls like he did I would go with oem. I have worn all balls and pivot works bearings out in. 2 short rides.
rear axle bearings ended up taking whole axle tube off the wheeler, long bar knocked out all but the races, had to torch them out cut a notch in top and bottom then hammered and chisel it out
what part is that called that you are taking out the seals on? I broke the piece that the tie rod connects to the part. and looking for a replacement part for it.
Great video you explained everything in perfection, keep up the good work
I don't even have an ATV but I watched the whole video.
I think it's because you make them interesting.

i've noticed they wear out quicker than a car.
You are steel an artist on your stage. Ceao.

Nice video!
What if you don't have the bearing spacer?
It's impossible to get the castle nut off without air tools I've tried and also the nut is 28mm not 30...
Does your four wheel drive ATV have a lot of slack in the front wheels like this. Hell know mine has three times that haha
I don't know about dony, but some of ericthecarguys longest videos are around 40 mins. (He has 100,000 Subs +)
What if your hub it stuck on? Hiw should i get it off
Penetrating oil and 24 hours
i've got the parts washer now
Dony, You should go to the junk yard and get a broken atv and make videos for us.
They aren't really alot different to cars are they? Supprising how similar they are
Very informative.
I just cannot get the bolt off the hub its stuck
Great instructions Doc. T.U.
lol, i noticed a lot of people like to do that
what part is that called that you are taking out the seals on? I broke the piece that the tie rod connects to the part. and looking for a replacement part for it.
Look at the diagram on your model: www.d2moto.com/pages/atv-parts or some other online part store that has your model.
We always have those type of wheel bearings pressed in by an alignment shop.
they are too expensive
Nice video
yes I though it was interesting
Where s part 2
How come you still make videos into 2 parts? UA-cam should have giving you the privilege of uploading videos much longer than 15 minutes.
Where is part 2? ;)
awesome!
Awesome! thanks
Cant wain till u get that parts washer
