OMG! AC Family, this is about to get crazy! Now that you've learned everything by the end of this video, LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! Which biome type should we do as an extension to Pantdora?
you should've gone to an australian rainforest. yes, they exist, but not for long. due to various reasons (corruption mainly), logging companies are allowed to do whatever they want. so itd be nice to see you preserve some of our natural beuties.
i just really wish he would sanitize his pieces before putting them in. he keeps getting issues from that he seriously needs to learn from before he scales up like this
@@avaph0bicwhy though? That's how nature works, he's not trying to create a sterile scientific project to study. The natural introductions help add variety and the same chaos that exists in nature.
My personal vote: 1. Lowland rainforest 2. Canopy These two home the most interesting insect/animal options and beautiful vivarium for him to record wonderful footages for us to see.
A lowland rainforest is pretty much what he already has in Pandora .A swamp would be the most different and interesting although it requires way more maintenance
1: Canopy. Not many people get to see what is actually going on in a canopy. This would be super fascinating! 2: Cave. I would love to see bats, if you can connect to the outside, (and you can handle the ammonia smell).
The cave would be cool for an opening from pandora. It would be fun to watch curious creatures walk in to the den of a huge cave beast. Canopy would also be amazing because of weaver ants.
At first, I wanted to see a cave, but after watching this video, the canopy addition seems like a perfect dovetail into what you already have accomplished.
Hi- so im kinda new here. I used to watch this channel like 5 years ago, but I'm newly returning and my mind is blown!!!!! I'm so happy to see you're still here and that there is still a community here!! I wish you nothing but luck!!!
I love the idea of a second vivarium. For biome my preferences are as follows 1. Canopy: I love love love the idea of a canopy, a place for fruit trees to grow with really cool plants, combined with tree dwelling animals. I also think it fits very nicely into Pantdora as it exists already. 2. Glassland: This one is because of the sheer difference to the existing pantdora, it would be quite different to the one we know. 3. Cave: I'll admit I am not that interested in the cave as a environment in of itself, however it existing with pantdora, acting as a safe haven for animals to me sounds really healthy for pantdora 4. Swamp: This one sounds like alot of work, and while cool in my opinion it won't mesh the best with existing pantdora 5. Lowland rainforest: I don't hate the idea, I just see it as too similar to what already exists
Okay, you changed my mind. I do like the canopy idea the best, I just want to see the tiny monkeys involved lol. Since that could happen already, I vote canopy!
I think canopy is the best option here. It would be awesome to see plants grow there and see insects jumping around. You can even have a weaver ant nest up there!
Canopy connected vertically to Pantdora gives habitat for sugar gliders & other mammals, as well as a refuge. Since a lot of people want to see a cave, I'd say make a small cave connected to Pantdora in the room like you said. Creatures can then go up into the canopy or "down" into the cave. I think having places where creatures can "leave" Pantdora for a nearby biome will give the most unexpected surprises!
I remember watching this guy when I was a child and now that I’m older, I enjoy his content even more. You were a special part in my childhood. Thank you!
A CANOPY vivarium sounds like it may not only be the most practical but also really cool to see. Lots of potential, with mammals and birds and others. Next choices would be 2.Lowland rainforest, 3.Cave system, 4.Grasslands then finally 5.Swamplands.
Regardless of what biome you choose to do next, you HAVE to build a canopy at some point. The fact that it would just perfectly connect with Pandora and into your second floor is just impossible to ignore.
A CANOPY! I had chosen Cave before, but after this, I reckon a Canopy would be a great learning opportunity and a great natural expansion on the already thriving vivarium. Also, the potential fauna is super interesting, with lively creatures we can enjoy watching. Plus: ANTS!
The canopy idea would be amazing ! I love vertical vivariums, it gives such a grand sense of scale to even fairly "small" volumes, and not needing a bridge also makes the two habitats more directly connected, which I think could make the Ecosystem more seamless. The cave is my second favorite, the partially cavernous vivariums You've created over the years look amazing !
The cave would be awesome if it was attached by an opening in the side of the moss wall like a cave, a great place for roaches to hide, plus whatever fierce cave monsters he wants to add.
Love the idea of a canopy! The inclusion of mammals and birds would be so great for a more diverse ecosystem. And building up would look so grand going from floor to ceiling. A vivarium reaching to the heavens
Seeing a wild orangutan is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And something future generations might not be able to experience. You should consider yourself very lucky AC!
I know it was probably just a slip of the tongue, but something about introducing Borneo as one of the last bastions of biodiversity by saying it has "over 400 square meters of rainforest" was just the laugh I needed today. I couldn't stop picturing this one parking-lot sized cube of green just PACKED with life.
My eight year old son votes canopy, an awesome upgrade for Pantdora. I like canopy as well, not only for the availability you have to it, but also the potential your home already has built in.
Canopy is my pick. I love the idea of watching the difference between Pandora and the canopy biomes and how already established and new creatures interact with it. I also love the idea of a grasslands. Grasslands seem so plain, but are amazing and showing people how impressive they are would be really cool.
The fact that the orangutan just got down and walked past you guys without even glancing at you just shows it KNOWS how powerful it is. Absolute badass.
My mind was blown on the last episode that he has an aviary as well... I looked at my husband and we were both shocked and said at the same time, " I want to see that too!!!" Now we have an extension... YES PLEASE!!! Best channel on UA-cam!!
You should check out his vlog channel, Mikey Bustos Vlogs. It doesn't stop at the aviary! He has all kinds of cool animals and takes great care of all of them. Plus, plenty of positive vibes to go around! Mikey never fails to put a smile on my face ❤
I would love to see the canary biome but more than that I would 100% love the marsupial pair. Keep up the amazing work. Your channel is one of my favourites on UA-cam and I look forward to watching the next episode.
I just want to say thank you for giving the flash warning before showing Lady death strike. As someone who has severe arachnophobia, but loves to watch your videos is heartwarming to know I could watch them without 😢 afraid of the spiders.
When there is 1 there is 2. When there is 2 there is 10. Eventually the entire room will one giant vivarium. So excited you are adding on, never let this series die. The cave system would be really cool, but I think that should be the 3rd Vivarium... The swap would be so cool, but because of not being able to self regulate, and the want for the Caiman. I think that should be the last ecosystem made, and maybe you can find a way to connect some of the natural filtering systems from the other vivarium's to help the swap system regulate itself. Rainforest is a must eventually. And I would love to see it first, which might be best as you will need the time to tame. Canopy would be so cool as a house feature let alone a video series. I think that has to be the next one, it would look so cool and be an awesome edition. I think we all know which one will be next!
A canopy environment like the one you described would be one of the most ambitious and exciting additions to this channel. Also, thinking on the health and balance of Pantdora, I think a cave acting like a safe heaven for prey animals would be very beneficial. Regardless of what gets chosen at the end, I just know we'll love it and you'll break the internet ❤
Hi Mikey, I'm a long-time follower but a first-time commenter. As a sort of creator of worlds myself, I'd like to pass along my thoughts on this. Regardless of your final choice, I know you're going to do a fantastic job with your next biome, as your care for the creatures of your house is apparent. That said, whatever biome you choose next ideally acts in concert with the current one. To achieve this, the biomes should be naturally adjacent, allowing for seasonal and weather pattern migration. Given that, I think there's only 2-3 good choices. 1. Cave 2. Canopy Here's why: Swamp: Swamps are generally a lowland biome with a notably different soil composition from cloud rain forests. Additionally, the seasonal demand for water to keep the soil wet may be more water-intensive than the cloud forest currently requires. And while you could attach the two biomes, depending on the height of the water in the swamp, there may be less overlapping life than you might like. While both are forest biomes, the flora and fauna are notably different due to the swamp's requirement for trees and animals that can survive underwater or in fully saturated ground. Planes/Grasslands: Again, these are fundamentally different biomes that are rarely found adjacent in nature without a transition biome in between. In many ways, a grassland and cloud rain forest are diametrically opposed in both the flora and fauna that exist there and the weather conditions required to create them. Lowland Rain Forest: While a biome naturally found adjacent to cloud rain forests, the food chain in a lowland rain forest could be difficult to manage. They require huge biodiversity to properly balance, and the apex predators are generally quite large, whether mammals, birds, or reptiles. I'd also worry that some reptiles might migrate into the cloud forest and become the apex predator there. All in all, you could choose to build up, out, or both by allowing the creatures of Pantdora to either hide in a cave during warmer seasons or climb up/down the canopy to the forest floor as safety demands it. The cave will allow shared territory for all your creatures that prefer darkness, moisture, or both. Notably, you could expand the black water pond into a calm, lazy river or add underwater jets to allow for fish, invertebrates, and amphibians that prefer moving water. Likewise, insects and arachnids would be happy to move back and forth. Even your smaller reptiles might move into the caves for a feast. Similarly, the canopy would support most of your land-based animals, including your ants, arachnids, some reptiles, and even birds. Most importantly, I think you're right that to get the most out of each, you'd want them connected to the outdoors for birds and bats to pass through. That not only gives you the ability to house animals you otherwise wouldn't, but it also makes you a part of the habitat outside of your home-a sanctuary of sorts.
Largely matches my thinking, although I'd add one further observation that might narrow it down to one: I might be wrong about this, but I'm concerned that a cave ecosystem might be too reliant on birds and bats to bring in nutrients from outside and deposited in the form of guano - essentially serving as the substitute for primary producers in the ecosystem. If bats from outside could be persuaded to roost in the vivarium, this could work, but an opening large enough for that might be allowing too much of the outside in. Without that, though, a cave ecosystem might not be self-sufficient. Pulling off a canopy in a vivarium is also going to have a degree of artificialness, but it's also something that I thought was missing from Pantdora from the beginning - a cloud rainforest undergrowth habitat is, almost by definition, going to have a canopy above it, with some of the biological events (like adding fruit) being needed to simulate having a canopy above it. Having a canopy section above Pantdora would, I think, make it more authentic by introducing what would be an important prerequisite to that ecosystem in nature.
@@Draxynnicon the flip side of that - if he successfully convinces bats to reside in the cave that constant influx of nutrients would be a huge boon to pantdora. In theory it would greatly reduce the amount of human intervention required
Hi mikey, im a licensed vet tech who works specifically w/ primates (including marmosets & tamarins). I think your primate idea is a good one if you decide to go that way. Despite your aviary being well above the minimum size, it still feels a wee small to me for them to live out the rest of their lives in. THAT SAID.... they are captive bred, so of course they aren't going to have the space that their wild habitat would afford them, and I think you're probably leagues ahead of anyone else who would buy them as pets anyway. So if they must be pets, you're definitely the best option imo. I also think it helps a ton that your plan would be to let them explore a different area when you film. That alleviates a lot of my concern over the size of their space, because you'd still be giving them plenty of opportunity to encourage their natural curiosity & exploration. You really couldn't ask for better enrichment and captive care. And no doubt your aviary will provide plenty of enrichment to them for a long while as well, but they are highly intelligent creatures that require mental stimulation (i.e enrichment) on a daily basis. After they grow used to their environment, I would suggest coming up with new ways to spice things up for them, and challenge them. I do have a few warnings for you: they smell. MUSKY. worse than ferrets. they're fast af and if they don't like you, they'll go for your eyes.
Ferrets do not smell. That's an annoying rumor about them and as a vet tech you should know better. My carpet sharks are highly offended. Don't leave your keys loose! 😆
@exidy-yt you know, full disclosure, I actually have a medical condition where I don't have a sense of smell 😅 so my ideas of what animals smell are based purely off of second hand information. People tell me ferrets smell, and tbqh I have no choice but to take their word for it. Tams and marms on the other hand are potent enough that even I can get a faint wiff, and that's when you know ur cooked 😂
@pixazelz yeah I don't entirely disagree. If this were a wild catch situation, I'd be 1000% against it. But captive breds are never going to released, even if someone wanted to release them, they would just die in the wild. And while I think the MOST ethical option would be to source them from some kind of rescue, if possible, I also think, just realistically, most people don't have access the resources Mikey does. he has the means to care for them better than probably anyone else would. If he can ensure that even two of them are properly cared for then I'm happy with that.
I originally voted for Cave because I find them absolutely fascinating but canopy stole my heart in this video. I think from a video production standpoint it has the most to offer viewers too.
My vote: 1. Cave - I like that it will provide a refugium for our favourite Pantdora residents. 2. Canopy - this feels like the most "natural" option, as we have a rainforest floor, so makes sense to expand into a rainforest canopy.
When I started watching this channel years ago, it was all ants. To see you go through a pandemic, lose colonies, build the ant house, and now this. 5 years ago I would have never ever thought this is where you would be. Your story telling has immensely improved to the point I feel I’m watching a full blown production show! Please never stop. And P.S. I want to see those blue ants again some day!
After watching the pros & cons of each choice, I've changed my mind from swamp to canopy. It seems to have the most compatible habitat and inhabitants however, whatever is chosen, it'll be fabulous!.
Borneo and especially Kinabatangan River is one of the craziest wonderful experiences one can have on this earth. The sounds, the smells, the animals. Awesome that you went there and shared your experience 🎉
PERSONAL OPINION: Grassy Plains with Caves below in one! Grassy plains is by far the best one. Flowering plants, pollinators, grasses, etc offer something your current system doesn't. If you had leaf cutter ants they'd probably love grassland too. You could even use sandy soil that is poorer in nutrients so mostly only grass and wildflowers thrive there but don't get too crazy. It'd be very different to a jungle as it's slightly drier and will have less nutrients in the soil. You could even install large basking rocks and dead wood for reptiles that also act as places to drop offering to the inhabitants. Overall I think a place with actual flowering plants, less rainfall, pollinators etc would be so much more interesting than the other biomes. It would offer true variety and you would be able to see which biome your ant species prefer. Another thing to add is grasses typically have shallow roots, so you could install hollow caverns below the grassland with entrances and that you can place cameras as well as view them from the outside of the glass. Edit: I also noticed in the video you said you might need to replant grasses in case they get eaten but grasses have evolved to be grazed you should not be concerned about that.
I hope this series goes on forever because this has to be the most incredible thing i've ever watched. It genuinely feels like a professional documentary but with so much more passion and a sense of humor
My personal favourite right now would be the following: - Divide the new big Vivarium into two open & adjacent biomes, 3/5 of that lowland rainforest and the other 2/5 either swamp, open grassland or a cave system. Emphasis for that 2/3 should maybe better go towards a refugium for animals used as prey to give them a stable and save environment to multiply. - Once both Vivariums are thriving, combine both with a 3rd Canopy one on the second ant room floor like you suggested yourself at 30:26 This, in my opinion, would be the most stable and diverse option and interesting to see how different each biome would develop on it's own and interact with each other aswell.
I was thinking something like this, too. Pantdora needs a refugium both above & below. A lot of people want canopy, so that's a must. He already has glass floor panels ready to expand up there! After that, perhaps on the same level as Pantdora, and connected, a swamp leading to a cave?
At first I was all in for the cave. But now, the diversity and contrasting refuge support the canopy provides (and adding interesting mamals, and birds) has me sold!
My vote: I think that YOU sounded the most excited about the canopy and grassland biomes. I think I originally voted swamp when you first put up the polls. But now I think canopy is the best idea.
I would love to see a canopy built above, and a cave system built below all working together . If anyone can do it, it's you! Love the content! You're amazing!
Yes! Start with the cave to provide a solution for creatures struggling with heat, then add a canopy down the line for the potential addition of mammals or even birds!
My votes are: 1. Canopy, other people have said the reasons already 2. Lowland Rainforest, I just think it would also mesh together with Pandora really nicely, and also marmosets are cute 3. Cave, mostly because I think we probably wouldn’t be able to see the animals most of the time 4. Grassland, honestly I don’t know if it would match up with Pandora 5. Swamp, used to be my top pick but now seeing as it needs a TON of stuff, I just don’t think it’d go well.
First, I vote the canopy idea! Although, I'm a month late... Second, this is coolest channel in existence! He is literally shaping his house around the opinions of his viewers. Not to mention, he is filthy rich and make anything he wants to happen. What a beautiful house he has! What a dream world (of mine) he gets to live in. Absolutely amazing. I'm so happy I randomly stumbled across this channel a couple weeks ago, thanks to the algorithm. I also love how he intertwined his travels into keeping us updated on the Vivarium we have already been captivated by. Thanks, AntsCanada!
As someone who lives in a swamp (Louisiana here), I think the potential of swamps is unlimited. It does not necessarily need to be all water. In fact, the most interesting thing about the swamp ecosystem is the bridge between water and land. Clearly, I think keeping crocodiles (alligators on our side) is not right and also unreasonably dangerous. But varieties of snakes, turtles, bugs, and ants are limitless. With this said, I gather that the swamp is not going to be the one selected. With everything left, I definitely vote for the lowland rainforest. I also feel like you were most enthusiastic about this one.
I was born and raised in South Louisiana at the bottom of the boot. There's nothing like the swampland. It's so beautiful and unique. And as much as I love Ants Canada, I don't think it could be replicated🤷🏼♀️
I feel a canopy would be the best because it's very interesting and you already have a place to put the tank with minimal work for the connection. Keep the work up!
I've always been against keeping primates as pets, until I became capable of providing a quality life for some. I'd rather be the one taking care of a pair than some random person who gets them to house in a tiny cage their whole life. We'll see. I've been sitting on getting them for years now. Must think more.
@@AntsCanada Hey, I used to care for a marmoset exhibit full time at a former job. I'd strongly reccomend against it. There is a huge list of reasons why, but mainly they have long lives, complex needs, and aren't easy to handle. Please feel free to DM.
@@AntsCanada personally I'd agree, primates are smart, have complex social lives and a high degree of freedom of movement in nature. Its hard to imagine a way to provide an equivalent life in captivity
Since the cloud forest was your first one I suggest a grassland prairie as the second. The natural progression would be this anyway. Mountains become grasslands. It would also allow an underground viewing window to actually see under the soil for you to see the ants better. Prairies don’t get that much rain normally so it’s a good way to observe species that like drier conditions.
I think a swamp has the potential to be the coolest addition, but because it would require so much maintenance and help it isn't a good addition. The best part about Pantdora is how it is largely self-sustaining and self-regulating - a true ecosystem behind glass! For that reason, a cave refugia where creatures that are having trouble with the heat can escape to is probably the most practical. Personally, I'd love to see a cave addition and a canopy addition down the line! The canopy strikes a good balance between serving the greater ecosystem and offering cool potential for new creatures.
The only problem with the caves imo is veiwing. How do you view inside a cave system? Any glass walls looking into the cave would sort of let in unwanted light.
I remember when the AC family consisted of barely 500K when I started watching and seeing you go from that single room in your home to moving to this crazy house where you have so many amazing Vivariums it’s absolutely beautiful to see how well your doing and how far you have come
A canopy vivarium sounds the most practical though to be fare they all do the swamp being the least practical which ever you decide to do ultimately from here I will very much enjoy watching it evolve thankyou for the entertainment ✌️
The canopy theme would tie in very well with your rainforest that you have in the house. I really love the idea of you building extensions and what not to connect everything together and to make it a complete biome.
I was reading a paper on biology, and the writer kind of changed how I view things. He said that we usually use "biodiverse" to mean "good", when in reality, it just means "stable" or "resource rich." A long-lasting ecosystem is biodiverse because it's had enough time for lots of species to adapt to it, and a lot of potential food sources. To that end, I want a grasslands biome. Living on the North American prairie, I've learned that people often don't appreciate just how diverse the ecosystems can be. They're not as biodiverse as rainforests, but they're gorgeous.
My vote is for the Canopy/Lowland Rainforest. It would be the more practical option and would also allow for the addition of the marmoset's (cute little fellas) and maybe even some smaller birds among some of the other critters mentioned. It would also integrate really well with the current ecosystem. Watching everything grow and thrive would be a great journey.
I would love a canopy extension to Pantdora. Many of the residents already drawn toward the top of the vivarium. Dedicating more space to them and new species would be a lot of fun. Swamp would be cool in concept, but for your sanity and upkeep reasons it's best to leave the swamp to mother nature.
A canopy would be the perfect extension for Pantdora , marmosets and dormouse would be excellent you could even add a stingless bee hive or two with a run to outside for them
I used to watch you during covid and haven’t seen your videos in a while, it’s awesome to see how far you’ve come and how large your enclosures have become!
I love the idea of a canopy vivarium. With your passion tho I foresee that all of these biomes will be added over the years, since this will put your title of creator of worlds to the ultimate test, and as an environmental engineer myself this gets me excited because it is almost a kind of terraforming. Much love and may nature aid in your efforts!
I was totally on team swamp, I thought it would be the coolest. But seeing how the vivarium could be brought up through the ceiling, I think the canopy would add the most for the channel AND be the coolest addition to the house!
Not sure why but I've been drawn to water my whole life. I've had a childhood experience with a pond with a clean out drain. It had a flowing water source in and a levy to let out on the other side. I didn't realize what an ecological treasure I grew up watching. I now understand what a lucky experience I got watching a freshwater pond that was healthy. Thanks to your channel I look at my childhood different and am able to appreciate the science lessons that were in front of me. ❤ Thank you for sharing your knowledge and understanding with us all.
I can't believe myself that I got so into this vivarium that I watched that start of it to this latest upload in just a span of 4 days. I was just planning to create my own terrarium then stumble upon this. I was so mesmerized with your vivarium and also shocked that you're THE MIKEY BUSTOS that made my childhood awesome! Now you're making my adulthood amazing👌
Great episode. I would be so excited to see a canopy terrarium, the variety of animals is amazing and it would have such a unique feel! Not too far removed from Pantdora, but a whole different type of biome!!
A cave system is the least represented biome of the lot. The opportunity to spread knowledge of this underappreciated diverse biome cannot be understated. Not to mention the awesomeness that can be preserved through film of the natural interactions between various animals in this particular biome.
Definitely need the balance of the cave in the eco system, but I'm gathering from the comments that idea is lost. Perhaps I'm taking to logical an approach.
As someone who’s living in Borneo currently and has visited all the places you just visited. I share the feeling you had on Kinabatagan River. Best experience in my live. You couldn’t have chosen a better place to visit. Looking forward to a second ecosystem.
at this point, i think mikey just wants to turn his entire house into an interactable, walk-in zoo. no complaints here! i would personally love to see everything in person, i just think it's funny and admirable how ambitious he is with all these visions he has for his various projects
i am absolutely complaining, i feel like he should have taken that horsehair worm out of his last vivarium immediately. i still can’t believe he actually left it there when he was so excited to have two mantises. “experiment,” my ass… even if the magnet on the enclosure door hadn’t failed, something bad would have happened to those animals. the invasive planaria were getting to a worrying level as well, likely a result of him not sanitizing the leaf litter and wood pieces he puts in.. idk
Forrest floor with an adjacent forest canopy would compliment each other nicely. Being able to see both at the same time would make for great and unexpected observations
My opinion is: 1. Cave first - cools down Pantdora + refugium 2. Canopy second - expands Pantdora in a non-invasive way 3. Lowland rainforest third - adds more natural habitat for already existing insect life. Would also benefit from the cave system like Pantdora. Also, I LOVE the idea of making the cave system connected to outside so the bats can sleep there 💖💖💖💖
My preferences: Cave or lowland rainforest, third place canopy. The cave sounds super cool, like it would provide good contrast to the current ecosystem, showing new creatures and new ways for you to build the habitat. I also love the idea that’s it could be a refuge for the creatures in pantdora! I love the lowland rainforest because it would be so cool to see marmosets, and it sounds like that ecosystem has the most biodiversity. It seems like it would pair well with pantdora too, and would be interesting to compare the different kinds of rainforests. Thank you so much for your videos!! I hope you end up picking something you will have the most fun with ❤ we will surely enjoy watching whatever the outcome is!
Lived in Balikpapan for a few years when I was a kid. My father was an expat for Total at the time. I really enjoyed the nature there. I was catching all sorts of different insects.

Changed my mind, build a canopy.Add mammals and birds.
Not possible for birds my guy., its not an aviary.,
It’d need to be huge, and wide!
Couldn't save that 1 Bird. Because of the appeal to nature
At that point might as well set up cameras outside. (Could be a cool series tbh)
It would need to be even bigger than pantdora.Definetly cruel for birds to stay there.

1. Lowland rainforest
2. Canopy

A lowland rainforest is pretty much what he already has in Pandora .A swamp would be the most different and interesting although it requires way more maintenance

This! I would add on my 3rd, grasslands, just because of the differences between what we have already and a new vivarium. But canopy is definitely #1

3. Cave: I'll admit I am not that interested in the cave as a environment in of itself, however it existing with pantdora, acting as a safe haven for animals to me sounds really healthy for pantdora
4. Swamp: This one sounds like alot of work, and while cool in my opinion it won't mesh the best with existing pantdora
5. Lowland rainforest: I don't hate the idea, I just see it as too similar to what already exists
My favourites are canopy and grassland too.

Completely agree
Okay, you changed my mind. I do like the canopy idea the best, I just want to see the tiny monkeys involved lol. Since that could happen already, I vote canopy!
The canopy 😍
I think canopy is the best option here. It would be awesome to see plants grow there and see insects jumping around. You can even have a weaver ant nest up there!
And MARMOSETS!!!! (What I like the idea of cute monkeys in it)
Dormouse to
And the mammals. we need some mammals

Yes
Canopy connected vertically to Pantdora gives habitat for sugar gliders & other mammals, as well as a refuge. Since a lot of people want to see a cave, I'd say make a small cave connected to Pantdora in the room like you said. Creatures can then go up into the canopy or "down" into the cave. I think having places where creatures can "leave" Pantdora for a nearby biome will give the most unexpected surprises!
im gonna put you in a vavarium
I agree with you Nphen maybe instead of doing one, maybe work on 2 areas to provide a greater experience for Pantdora

A CANOPY vivarium sounds like it may not only be the most practical but also really cool to see. Lots of potential, with mammals and birds and others. Next choices would be 2.Lowland rainforest, 3.Cave system, 4.Grasslands then finally 5.Swamplands.
100% couldn't have said it better myself!
Regardless of what biome you choose to do next, you HAVE to build a canopy at some point. The fact that it would just perfectly connect with Pandora and into your second floor is just impossible to ignore.

Canopy ! canopy ! canopy ! The way your setup is made would be perfect for this expansion !!
I mean, it is over 400² meters
It sounded totally wrong to me, so I googled it. It's apparently 430,000 square kilometers.

Soon there will be little difference between the outside and inside of his house.
Agreed
I hope he add a tiger in the 3rd vivarium
1. Cave
2. Canopy
Here's why:
Swamp: Swamps are generally a lowland biome with a notably different soil composition from cloud rain forests.
Either cave or canopy.
Yes!!! Definitely cave or canopy and would really love to see both.
W O W
Largely matches my thinking, although I'd add one further observation that might narrow it down to one:
I might be wrong about this, but I'm concerned that a cave ecosystem might be too reliant on birds and bats to bring in nutrients from outside and deposited in the form of guano - essentially serving as the substitute for primary producers in the ecosystem.
When the world needs a new Attenborough I'm voting for you. A voice I could listen to and be swept along by your enthusiasm
Thanks for watching!🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜
I really hate the fact people can have primate as pets . it just seems wrong to keep our relatives like that
@exidy-yt you know, full disclosure, I actually have a medical condition where I don't have a sense of smell 😅 so my ideas of what animals smell are based purely off of second hand information.
😮😮😮😮
I originally voted for Cave because I find them absolutely fascinating but canopy stole my heart in this video. I think from a video production standpoint it has the most to offer viewers too.
Me to
I want cave to
100% this, the tour of the house is what sold me on canopy
My vote:
1. Cave - I like that it will provide a refugium for our favourite Pantdora residents.
2. Canopy - this feels like the most "natural" option, as we have a rainforest floor, so makes sense to expand into a rainforest canopy.

When I started watching this channel years ago, it was all ants. Your story telling has immensely improved to the point I feel I’m watching a full blown production show! Please never stop.
And P.S.
I want to see those blue ants again some day!
Cave sounded super interesting but the more I think about it the canopy expansion would be rad as hell
I change my mind about my vote for the cave. A canopy seems like the most interesting environment that woud work very well with the current ecosystem!
Canopy was my original choice! I'm so happy to see people starting to change their mind.
OMG! I want to see a wildflower meadow with ants and a cave so bad!
As was mentioned in the video; "What about sunlight?" How could this be overcome? I do like the idea of the cave system below the grasslands though.
@@MrRobbiegem2005 He can afford strong grow lights lets be honest
i need to see bees. i want a bee farm so bad but am not a horticulturist and yeah bees.
You can also get turrets with mirrors in them installed in your roof
As a Geologist the cave was truly my favourite, but I can see the challenges with it. But my close second is definitely the grassland!
Canopy for sure! It makes perfect sense to go along with the current rainforest.
I hope this series goes on forever because this has to be the most incredible thing i've ever watched. It genuinely feels like a professional documentary but with so much more passion and a sense of humor
My personal favourite right now would be the following:
- Divide the new big Vivarium into two open & adjacent biomes, 3/5 of that lowland rainforest and the other 2/5 either swamp, open grassland or a cave system. Emphasis for that 2/3 should maybe better go towards a refugium for animals used as prey to give them a stable and save environment to multiply.
- Once both Vivariums are thriving, combine both with a 3rd Canopy one on the second ant room floor like you suggested yourself at 30:26
This, in my opinion, would be the most stable and diverse option and interesting to see how different each biome would develop on it's own and interact with each other aswell.
I was thinking something like this, too. Pantdora needs a refugium both above & below. A lot of people want canopy, so that's a must. He already has glass floor panels ready to expand up there! After that, perhaps on the same level as Pantdora, and connected, a swamp leading to a cave?
Love your idea, you managed to say exactly what I was thinking, we need the safe place but a new area for interest and growth
Im voting canopy. It just seems to offer the greatest diversity.
Good luck choosing, Mikey.🎉
At first I was all in for the cave. But now, the diversity and contrasting refuge support the canopy provides (and adding interesting mamals, and birds) has me sold!
My vote:
I think that YOU sounded the most excited about the canopy and grassland biomes.
I like the canopy idea going up into the second floor for easy filming
It's also one of the least known about ecosystems
My votes are:
1. Canopy, other people have said the reasons already
2. Lowland Rainforest, I just think it would also mesh together with Pandora really nicely, and also marmosets are cute
3. Cave, mostly because I think we probably wouldn’t be able to see the animals most of the time
4. Grassland, honestly I don’t know if it would match up with Pandora
5. Swamp, used to be my top pick but now seeing as it needs a TON of stuff, I just don’t think it’d go well.
Yeah. A canopy going into that 2nd floor would be immensely cool and unique.

I genuinely think a canopy would be perfect for your house. Would also be in keeping with moving up through your house
Marmosets would be so cool! I also love the event idea
Marmosets would absolutely blow the roof off this channel, and they're one of my favorite primates... super interesting and intelligent.
I've always been against keeping primates as pets, until I became capable of providing a quality life for some. I'd rather be the one taking care of a pair than some random person who gets them to house in a tiny cage their whole life. We'll see. I've been sitting on getting them for years now. Must think more.
Yessss, they’d be such an amazing addition to the channel
@@AntsCanadaCan’t wait to see these marmosets thriving in your canopy expansion!
Does not matter which biome you add. Your videography and narrative will hook me every time.
Those marmosets look amazing. The storytelling addition for them alone would be worth it.
Its very nice of you to put a warning for when big spiders are about to come. Made it easier for me and my gf to watch you thank you!
I agree with this whole heartedly
You have a point
Exactly, and I feel the grasslands would be better hiding places for spiders and such!
CANOPY, this will be a journey. Isn't this the reason you specially created this ant home. It will be epic to have multiple Weaver Ants Colonies.
I remember when the AC family consisted of barely 500K when I started watching and seeing you go from that single room in your home to moving to this crazy house where you have so many amazing Vivariums it’s absolutely beautiful to see how well your doing and how far you have come
Thanks for watching!🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜

My vote is canopy and please please please have doormice. I had heard of them but I didn’t know how cute they were. I need more adorable doormice!!!
With the choices given, I'd say cave - but a horizontally split ecosystem with grassland on the top portion with a cave underneath would be epic!
This comment deserves more attention. Dude that is the best idea ever

Canopy seems to be the best fit but man a swamp would be so fun to watch too
I would love the lowland rainforest, it would flow well with the cloud forrest. Swamp would be really cool too for more water based animals and bugs
I can't believe myself that I got so into this vivarium that I watched that start of it to this latest upload in just a span of 4 days. Great episode. I would be so excited to see a canopy terrarium, the variety of animals is amazing and it would have such a unique feel! Not too far removed from Pantdora, but a whole different type of biome!!
A low land canopy ecosystem vivarium would be so amazing, I’d love to see it!
YES A SWAMP AS A FLORIDIAN THESE ECOSYSTEMS IN SWAMPS ARE INCREDIBLE!!!
I agree a swamp would be so much cooler
I initially wanted swamp as well but i think he brought up alot of good points at to why it would be problematic.
That centipede jumping at you was hilarious. Centipedes have about zero chill and I love them for it.

“experiment,” my ass… even if the magnet on the enclosure door hadn’t failed, something bad would have happened to those animals. the invasive planaria were getting to a worrying level as well, likely a result of him not sanitizing the leaf litter and wood pieces he puts in.. idk
still love the rest of his work, but like damn fr the worm.. couldnt even take it out .. why
I vote for a canopy environment. Love your show. Thanks for bringing biology in an easy-learn format!
Forrest floor with an adjacent forest canopy would compliment each other nicely. Being able to see both at the same time would make for great and unexpected observations
My opinion is:
1. Cave first - cools down Pantdora + refugium
2. Canopy second - expands Pantdora in a non-invasive way
3. Lowland rainforest third - adds more natural habitat for already existing insect life. Would also benefit from the cave system like Pantdora.
Also, I LOVE the idea of making the cave system connected to outside so the bats can sleep there 💖💖💖💖
Chinese water dragons are so beautiful def get one for the swamp, we could name her/him nessie
I love this idea.
Completely agree
@NaevisVibin too big tho there like 2 feet long he'd need a bigger vivarium then the rainforest 1
My preferences:
Cave or lowland rainforest, third place canopy.
