Ive been in too many shit hitting the fan situations to believe that alphas, sigmas and betas can be anything but . An example, while at a shopping center in old town ft.collins three girls come through the doors and despite all the other people around they walked straight for me saying a guy is having a seizure fell and hit his head. I pointed to one and said you call 911, i pointed to the other and said you grab two jackets off the rack and bring em outside , all while striding toward the door. When I got out the door there was a ring of twenty five people around this guy seizing on the ground, the violence of the seizure was causing him to slam the back of his head into the concrete floor, gurgling sounds from his throat made it obvious he couldn't breathe. I didn't pause my stride for a second, walked right up knelt down and cupped the back of his head to stop him from continuing to slam it into the ground. I looked around for an assistant, noticed a guy standing a little closer than the others and said you come here hold his head in line with his spine as i turn him on his side he has an airway obstruction, he did as instructed and when I turned the guy over blood poured out of his mouth onto the ground, he probably bit his tongue i said. Instantly the gurgling gave way to rhythmic breathing. I looked at my assistant and said I think we saved this one ,if he comes to he's gonna really wanna get up we can't let him just focus on his spinal alignment. The guy did come to and I kept him pinned till he calmed down then the firemen paramedics pulled up , Alpha personalities every one of em. I said he conscious and breathing fine now he was without oxygen for as long as four minutes im guessing , i looked at the other firemen and said we're keeping spinal alignment then to my assistant ,go ahead and swap out. They swapped positions then i switched out . I stepped up to my assistant and said thank you you did well. With a blank almost fearful stare he says that he just finished his training that he starts his new ambulance paramedic job tomorrow.
So ,all those people standing around watching a guy dying because they are all to afraid and unsure to act . Regardless of what these people tell themselves or what eye contact on girls they practice I'm certain all that goes out the window when shit gets real. The real leaders step up and the real beta,sheep will freeze.
