I am really glad you guys did this, because we've been re-reading the instructions and played a couple times now, but we can't find where it says whether or not you draft for gears, and whether you discard the last gear or not. So we have been confused on that. Thanks for making this!
Glad it helped!
Good to see the play through guys... Just treated myself to a copy of this. Looking forward to getting it to the table.... 🥃🎲🇬🇧
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
I’m really enjoying this one as well. The artwork and theme are quite charming. Top notch components too!
Maybe we're weirdos, but I can see us playing this dozens and dozens of times throughout the upcoming year. We're incredibly hyped up on it. Think we've got 10 games in since just before New Years. Glad to hear it's going down well with you!
My version doesn't have metal coins. They are cardboard punch-outs. Always a drag when publishers downgrade quality mid-production. I'm amazed how frequently the quality you see in reviews isn't what you get in the box. Mini Rougue is a prime example.
Loved watching your playthrough! Our copy was delivered today and we're excited to give this a go! Caper weekend!
Thanks for watching! That is excellent news - hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
@@BoardOfItReviews Got our first play. LOVED it! We are always looking for a two-player game that isn't too long (or too short) and Capers Europe is perfect, just as you said!
Yesss love to hear it! 🙌🏻
Playing this tomorrow night, pretty pumped
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Got this on the way on your recommendation!
Hope you enjoy as much as we do!
I'd love to see you two play Agricola - super brutal at 2 player.
We do like brutal! Unfortunately we don't have Agricola :(.
Ah, excellent. I heard your review today and I was wondering where I might see a playthrough. Out of your review - and others - I got a hazy sketch of what the game is, and the fact that you and others like it... but it's very hard to really get a tangible feel for how it's good. I need to see more... which I'll do right now.
This doesn't look bad but I don't think it's for me. I don't see a ton of variety. Looks pretty same-y.
We actually have a playthrough too but maybe you've already seen that by now!
How did you lay 4 gear on the one thief? I thought you could only have three gear per theif. Just got the game so I am in the process of learning. Thank you.
You are correct you cannot. It was a mistake :).
@@BoardOfItReviews okay, thank you. I have only played with the Paris cards so I was wondering if there was special cards in the other cities that let you lay more cards. Thanks for the response.
My copy came in yesterday too!
Nice! Let us know if you love it as much as us when you get around to playing!
@@BoardOfItReviews will do!
Thanks for the playthrough... I just got my game yesterday. When you put the colonel down you moved the caper tracker. Was that correct or do you only move it when a purple card is played? Confusing.
It was actually a mistake so sharp eyes! The location had an effect which let you move the tracker when you play a card there (or so I thought) but I learnt after it wasn't any card (e.g. a thief), just any gear card.
@@BoardOfItReviews Thanks. We played it twice tonight and think we have it almost dialed in but we only played Paris. Really fun game.
@@michaelacookePDX Glad to hear! Wait till you get to the others they really shake it up. We played Barcelona last night and it's a real head scratcher. We're also having a blast with it.
Rattling of ice against glass is unbearable with headphones. Otherwise, loved the video.
My version doesn't have metal coins. They are cardboard punch-outs. Always a drag when publishers downgrade quality mid-production. I'm amazed how frequently the quality you see in reviews isn't what you get in the box. Mini Rougue is a prime example.
I think you just have the retail version - the KS version came with all the bling as part of the pledge, but the basic retail version has cardboard.
