The quality of these videos is just miles and miles ahead of all other channels. It's ridiculous and I love it. I have to watch every video immediately. If there are other ways to express my excitement I don't know them yet, so feel free to add in your own.
I can't. Get over. How just gosh darn amazing Tom is. His writing and editing has been mind blowing from the beginning. The whole SUSD crew has always been absolutely delightful but I'm really glad they have a Tom that can be let loose focusing on the production process.
This was excellent, thank you! And despite being 100% its own thing (keep sharing your unhingedness with us Tom, it's great!), it reminded me of the vibe of SUSD early seasons? Unsettling framing narrative surrounding little reviews? Hell yes!
I adore the energy of Tom and Quinn's together the way it cuts somewhere between goofing off between friends and a little brother/older brother style winding each up other. Also Quinn's doesn't know Camera's or Quinn's knows exactly how to ensure the focus is on him :D
I was able to find Spots and For the Queen! Never played a game like For The Queen before. Now I just have to find people who are willing to give it a go. Thank you for your videos. I look forward to them.
Hi, I'm the designer of FtQ - thank you so much for picking up the game! I'm dropping in to your comment to say I originally playtested it with my dad, his partner, and my little sister... none of whom had played an RPG before! I really keep first-time gamers in mind with my designs :)
@@AlexRoberts , Hi! Thank you for the reply. That’s good to know. My son (college-age) and husband seem willing to give it a go. I love the art work. I see you’ve also created games based on The Dresden Files, one of my and my son’s favorite book series! Very cool. Thanks again.
I am only 18 minutes into this 23 minute video and already - in a crowded field - it's a strong contender for the funniest video SUSD have ever made. I've lost count of the number of genuine burst-out-laughing moments. Bravo guys.
I think we needed one millisecond of Quinns screaming in a dungeon at the very end of the video, but otherwise a perfect video. Spots is the one I wound up wanting the most. For Sale is already in my collection, and I love it. Also, I dislike Magic the Gathering and Worldbreakers looks boring to me, but I LOVE Radlands. So what does it all mean? Something very, very significant, for sure. Absolutely.
I love it where the roles are reversed and Tom just immediately presses the airhorn, no warnings, no conditions. It's the perfect example of his personality where rules and logic are just silly little gimmicks for him to flaunt over
Hi, I'm the designer of FtQ - I'm honestly so flattered you made that comparison because A Quiet Year, and Avery Alder's work in general, has been a huge inspiration to me!
Great video! I go back and forth on card games that could be played with normal decks of cards, but are played with specially decorated decks that prevent them from being used for all the many different games you could play with a normal deck. The yokai game seems to avoid this by making each suit a little different, which speaks well of it. It's not my favorite theme, but it sounds fun. Thanks for recommending it!
I love that you finally covered For Sale. To me it is hands down the best gateway game ever and among my top ranked games ever due to the 'ohno!' 'oh my GOODNESS YESSS' moments that are present in every single game. I have gifted more copies of this game than awkward hugs to the inlaws (although those are easily avoided since the pandemic, so perhaps I need another analogy) and I love it to bits. I actually have specifically bought the travel edition in the US (not available in mainland Europe) just so I could carry a copy with me in most of my outdated coats that I keep wearing, just because of pocket size and familiar smell.
There was so much to love about this video! The wacky antics! The great editing! The verbose and comprehensive reviews on those treasureful games that required the extra attention when needed! Quinns reactions to Tom really amped up the humor in this one. But Tom keeping things light, breezy, and altogether crazy is always welcome in every video he's in. For the Queen would be an amazing DnD session. Like "You are all accompanying the Queen on a months long trip, after 2 months of your journey you sit by the fire and think to yourself *game*" It'd be a refreshing session, jumpstart PC driven character dev, and lead into a hell of a combat.
I assume Tom does all of the video editing. I can imagine it is a thankless part of this job. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Tom. I love your little gags. Keep it up!

Also I know they warned us at the start of the vid so it’s entirely on me for raising my own hopes, but I’m going away in a few days and I’m absolutely devo that I can’t get Trailblazers for the trip 😢
I know without looking it's already been mentioned, but I've just rewatched the Twilight Inscription bit and it's my current favourite thing thank you SHUT UP & SIT. DOWN. and tom

Always love the "will they or won't they (physically harm each other)" energy that Tom and Quinns videos radiate
I love Quinns being eternally bewildered by Tom's eldritch powers of editing
I half expected in the first cut to them being some place different for Quinns to ask how he got there.
He's done it to Matt before, so it serves him right.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching enthusiastic dad and post-modern son on their 10-game game-adventure.
With a secret 11th adventure! That's quite good! Like ketchup mouthwash.
Tom's actually post-post modern
With Quins as the son? Got it.

I say it all the time, but adding Tom to the team is SU&SD's greatest ever masterstroke. The guy is pure comedy gold.
