That video was absolutely brilliant! As Cardiff Central is a near by station to where I live I understand everything you have seen and heard those Pacers are brutal! The people that do the announcements sound like they've had a few pints... Just a normal day at Cardiff Central!
I live in Pembrokeshire Wales, Welsh Place Names are so hard to learn. I am a good Welsh speaker. Don't worry about those screeching trains, they should've been dumped years ago. The 158s and the 175s are good enough.
Another enjoyable longer video Tornado922. You have to love some of the Welsh language platform announcements on the stations. They don't talk so much as sing but if you haven't got the words and music you're stuffed. Hat's off to you for continuing the commentary over the top of the ear shattering brake squeal from those 142's! How are your ears? Dedication above and beyond duty Sir. Couldn't resist taking liberties with this traditional Welsh song. "We'll keep a welcome in the hill side, we'll keep a welcome in the vale but don't forget your bloody earplugs when you go trainspotting in Wales".
River moving glory at it's finest, what a station. Love me some "Wet" Train, so much so I might change my name to "T-Rain"... Nawhh! I really liked these old girls, and they seem to be in fair running order as well. Superb sound and a great mix of Sun & Cloud breaks. The Mid-film Money Shot 66 was awesome, but then the ending was the Cherry... One of the best 1hr. 3min. yet. Thanks again, Tor. B.P. P.S. That Memorial Livery!
Thanks very much, this was a great morning spent here although it was a tad nippy and very wet throughout my journey there and getting home aswell! I seem to get the worse of the weather when I go out haha
Lot of pacers down in Cardiff they are so squeaky and noise, shame there wasn't much in the way of freight as you can Cardiff is famous for its transport for Wales lol
great video. 158926 was 158826. lovely to see the HSTS and 43172 also 153333 in new TfW that is a ex GWR 153. thats stuped a 165 2 car turbo on portsmouth to cardiff there should be a 3 car to make it 5 cars
Omg you need to get your hearing checked with the crappy screaming busses. Still not out of order yet!!! Love the station and the 1 hour video, thanks ♥♥♥
The Class 142 and 143 Pacer trains are due to be withdrawn at the end of the year, but due to Greater Anglia delaying the arrival of the Class 170's to Transport for Wales, they are to be kept for a bit longer, along with the class 37 loco hauled services to Rhymney, the reason why the pacers make the screeching sound is caused by the wheel flanges binding on the tight curves, also they have one wheel per bogey in stead of two, they are also known as 'nodding donkeys'
I knew that the pacers were due to be withdrawn by the end of the year thankfully. Just a shame that the 37's weren't running over the course of the weekend otherwise I would've caught them
@@Tornado922 the 142s will probably start to be withdrawn before the 143s, which makes sense because the steel-bodied 142s will rust away whereas the 143s have aluminium bodies. "or something"
Enjoyed watching as always Jarred but boy they need rid of those pacers, demand is to great to be relying on those pieces of rubbish, thumbs up from me as always mate
Thanks very much mate, I cant wait for TFW to get rid of them. They are horrid to look at and the noise that they were making that day was simply god awful
Cracking video from a great station. Just one thing though, i hope your ears survived all those godawful Pacers. I can sum them up in two words - Shrieking Banshees Lol! My favourite part was the HST which had the Harry Patch power car on one end. Keep safe, regards Gary.
Thanks very much, me ears needed a lot of work done to them after my time there, I can only imaging how bad it must have sounded onboard the train! I loved seeing the HST make an appearance after such a long while
I have to agree with you about the state of the trains and under done livery for tfw it doesnt look good at all but thankfully they have just acquired new stock from anglia trains to replace those awful pacers and there are supposed to be new trains coming too....
I wonder how many people who daily commute on those Pacers actually have hearing loss 😝 I've literally seen people react to the screechy Pacer brakes haha

Argh! I was thinking "cardiff's not on the south western ML!" You confuddled me. Anyway nice video!
I thought it was the South Western Main Line (SWML)
Very enjoyable vid with the numerous 66s

"or something"
They 158 GWR Services are actually formed of a 2 coach 158 and the front of a 158
What was with that sprinter at 5:20, it was sort of half a 158 coupled to a full one, is there an explanation?
ItsAMeAGogio speaking of which I know the are only 43’s 800’s 150’s and 143’s since when there was a 158 sprinter on GWR?
ItsAMeAGogio it’s back at 8:26!

Woah, I didn't realise you went back to "CDF", I'm there quite frequently but not in the morning haha! A full hour video as well!!!
Yeah I thought I would come back here and give it a proper going over!
Omg you need to get your hearing checked Still not out of service those crappy screaming busses, but love this station ♥♥♥ thanks for
I think my ears are still ringing after that!!
Great video as always mate 👍🏻 keep it up
I appreciate you saying that however you haven't watched the whole film. I would much rather you watch it through its entirety before commenting
Tornado922 yes, fare enough. I’ll bare that in mind for next time 👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve never seen a TfW Pacer before mate!
God those Pacers and 150's know how to make an entrance...
Especially the Pacers haha... I've seen people actually react to the noise of them braking!
What day did you film it on?
Luke Alford it says in title lol
SWML or SWML?
The class 143 train makes a lot of noise.
TGA Tolu: Trains and Planes cuz there buses on old freight wagon chassis
That pacer at the start was painful
Lol ikr it hurts your ears 👂
there all like that
On corners, yes
And stopping

Why does the HSTs not going to Taunton today
I haven't got a clue, they just had the ones going to and from Bristol
@@Tornado922 because the long distance HSTs have gone to Scotrail
@@nathansrailwayphotography8125 he means the 2 plus 4 castle sets cause they do cardiff to penzance

you mean GWML
"Pronounciations" (pronunciations) *really" aren't your forté 😜
And they never will be ;)
