Apart from the Chicken Shawarma, does anyone else likes how enthusiastic he sounds? Hearing him alone makes me want to eat that Shawarma.🤤
Aww thanks!
He seems so positive, he reminds me of Chris from parks and rec
You guys funny 😂 in this video 🤣 make me laugh also 😆🤣😆
Yes! That's really amazing 😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
@@user-cw6ld9oj9i
Did you unsubsribed from this? If so, I'm really surprised.
When Justin asked John if he likes garlic…that look John gives the camera when he answers. 😂
Me: um have you watched his channel? _”add 3 cloves of garlic”…throws in 6 cloves_
Bwahahaha!!
Haha! So true
You measure garlic with your heart …😁😁😁
It's much different in the Middle East, especially in Lebanon, Palestine and it is the best shawerma . Thanks for sharing no offense but Somac is a the best spice to use in shwerma. Just if you add it it makes a delicious flavor.
That’s the original shawarma since it originated from the Levantine area, disappointing that not many people follow the original recipe
@@carolh4336 tru Indeed I agree
Great Shwarma in Israel. One of the best I had.
@@underratedblastoise3908 yeah it's originally Palestinian-Syrian but I guess they stool the food too
@@peace6566 true ugh
While deployed I had my first authentic schawrma. The meats on the spikes all smelled so delicious and I've loved it ever since. I'm so excited to give it a try myself 🤗 thank you so much for sharing once again, a beautiful recipe. Stay happy, stay healthy, and stay safe. 😊
Thank you for introducing Justin to us...you both are so grounded and pure souls..surely will be subscribing to Justin's cooking channel on UA-cam.. it was really fun to watch u both together.. shawarma is my most favorite food from the middle eastern cuisine.
Thank you for the kind words! 🙌🏻
@@cookingwithcoit 😊💗🤗Your welcome Chef
The lemon juicing reminded me of a PSA I wanted to share: if you use one of those juicing tools, try putting the fruit in upside down, i.e. so the round end is facing you. It’s counterintuitive but I’ve found that I get way more juice out that way, especially with limes which can be stubborn to give up their juice.
Isn’t that how they are supposed to be used?
Thanks!
Hahaha, I just can't! If the fruit is too stubborn, I juice it as the tool form, then flip it around when it's softer. My petit hands can't do it right away as you say
For juicing limes, you can juices the halves separately, and then juice both at the same time to squeeze out every last drop.
Try microwaving the lime for 10-20 seconds first .. then roll and squeeze. You're welcome 😊
As a Jordanian, I eat shawerma Allllllll the time!! Your recipe looks so good😋.. And just to add we traditionally put garlic sauce : we cook water and corn starch until it is thick (like the consistency of a pudding) then we put it in a bowl and let it cool... Then we put in the mixer some olive oil, salt, 4-5 garlic gloves and the water and starch mix.. You mix everything until smooth and that's it! It taste amazing with shawarma and you can use it as a dip for chicken or beef 😋😋
Wow 🤩 that’s all for the garlic sauce! Thank you!
I took over cooking duties for my mom last night and made this recipe for my family. It was so easy to make and delicious! I paired it with a homemade garlic sauce, rice and pitas and the food tasted as if we were eating takeout from the local schwarma restaurant. Adding this recipe to my repetoire!
My chicken is marinating and my dough for my flat bread is proofing. Yum! I can’t wait. I can’t ever turn down a recipe for Shawarma. Makes my mouth water every time. Thanks guys for helping me decide on dinner tonight.
Plays well with others. ✔ This collaboration was so joyous. And it looks delicious.
I love all your content from every single show but this one was amazing because you was having fun🥰👍🏾

A-mazing!! Since i a bread baker i made my own pitas. Added dill to the sauce and put handfuls of cilantro in the wrap... yumm.
This recipe is everything!! Can’t wait to cook it this weekend

Just to let you know, I too place a dollop on the palm of my hand to taste my sauces. Have been doing it all my life. My kids laugh at me. Now I can show them that I’m not the only one.
Thank you for a delicious recipe
Wow!!! Thank you for sharing your recipe and good tidings to you and your family and friends!!!
We used to have it in Dubai, but never found the perfect recipe.. Since its from John, I'm definitely gonna give a try!
Hope you enjoy!!!
I live in Dubai and you are right, the shawermas here are sooooo good. There's hardly any bad shawerma, the lowest bar is 'good' lol
@@arshiyaamreen5808 ikr! I used to have them like at least 3 days a week lol
@@arshiyaamreen5808 my favorite ones are the 5 dhs one. Simple yet so good.
This is one of my favorite things to make. So good!!! Also, they are super funny together!!!! And I have never seen anyone palm a taster of yogurt before lol.
Oh my goodness... Looks soooo good and so much simpler than some of the other recipes I've seen. I have all of those spices in my pantry! Thank you so much for sharing! I'm gonna follow Coit, too - seems like a lot of fun!
I agree and thoroughly approve of these “shortcuts to Schwarma” yay!
Looks delish !!!!! Oh my gosh this was so so so fun!!! Loved every minute 😊😊😊
Great recipes and I love watching two really good cooks having a good time cooking together!
LOVE this video! Good friends and good fun !! The shawarma looks wonderful !
Looks delicious, thanks for sharing!
They both appreciate food so much❤️❤️❤️
This looks amazing!!! Can’t wait to try it! 😋
Thanks for the good tip on garlic in lemon first to diffuse the sharp flavour. I didn’t know that. Love all your sweets and savoury cooking. Your boys are so cute.
Loved the video and the recipe. That's what cooking is all about, having fun while making something delicious. Awesome collaboration 👍
Great fun video! Just started following Coit can wait to try some of your recipes. John, as always very delicious and fun
So easy to make and have all recipes this is gonna b great for this weekend din din ❤️
There is SO much innuendo in this one. LOVE IT.
The Justin and John show would be great because it would juxtapose John’s need to be a clean freak in the kitchen and Justin‘s willingness to just get messy!! I love it! It would be hilarious!
Living in Nova Scotia with such a large middle eastern community we have a lot of opportunities to eat shawarma. Because it is usually associated with cooking on a spit you don't think to cook at home. Thanks for this recipe. This is one that I will really try ... Cheers
OMG that looked so good! Thanks for sharing.
I have literally never heard of a shawarma until I watched the avengers movie. I was very glad to find it so at some of the local middle eastern restaurant here in Malaysia. It is just as you all described it very delicious! Great recipe John and Justin, I hope to be trying it sometime soon!
Ummmm I’m making these tomorrow!!! Looks insanely delicious 🤤❤️❤️
SO scary. This week my sister has had Mediterranean Greek salad and chicken shawarma for her lunches. I used to eat it all the time in California, but now I’m Utah I haven’t had it in so long. It’s my favorite! We said we have to learn how to make it. Yesterday my sister sent a recipe for the sauces. I love your channel and use your recipes. This is beyond timely. Lol I’m so excited. 😭
Oh wow! YAY!!
Reminds me cooking with my Grandma...❤️😍
When John whipped out that massive pepper grinder, I died!!!! 😂😂😂😂
This looks great! One problem though is a lot of boneless thigh meat still has gristle and other nasty bits that needs removed before chopping and eating. I guess some like that never could stand gristle or tendons.
Okay, guys, I was waiting for the sumac. Every passionate cook gets excited over a new and unfamiliar ingredients and many (supposedly) authentic recipes for shawarma include ground sumac in their marinade. Difficult to find in grocery stores so I got mine online. Very unique and distinctive. I encourage you to get some and try it.
I have tried so many times and so many different recipes until I found this I got to try it out 😃
I love love these videos! 🥰 Great instructions.
SO Glad you like them! 😀
The first time I had the Shwarma was in 1991 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was a surprise to find the french fries in there, which is how they serve them in Arabia, anyway. It was very delicious considering what else was around for us to eat, we were on the airbase there.
I can just imagine these two behind the BBQ while the kids run around the back yard and Justin's wife and John's husband hanging out on the deck chairs. Such dad energy 😋
OMG i gotta try this recipe. it looked delicious. I love to dip my chicken shawarma in garlic sauce. I've never had fresh cucumbers on the sandwich. I've always had pickled, so I'm gonna have to try it with fresh ones. thanks for making this recipe. Hopefully sometime in the future you can make a garlic sauce or spread to go with it.
That plop on the palm is the default tasting method in the East anyway. Makes a lot of sense. Also, automatic temperature check before tasting to get a better idea of the flavour.
Awesome video...you two should do these type videos monthly. You make a great team
I love tasting with the hand sample like Justin did....I have always tested my food like that...its cleaner, healthier.
You guys are fun together. Thanks for the entertainment!!
Thanks! Family loved the recipe.
John’s reaction to Coit’s way of taste testing🤣👌🏽
You prob here this all the time, but saw you had a recipe for this and knew I was garenteed something tasty. Thank you for being excellent.
looks so good, I'll be giving it a try!

That looks amazing and I am going to do it as a surprise for Sunday supper .
It was so much fun watch the two of you
Hi John,
Been wanting to reach out for some time but didn’t know how to reach you. Saw you commenting a lot on this video so hopefully you see this.
I found your channel right around when the quarantine happened in 2020. I have a big sweet tooth and was missing out on those restaurant desserts. I started watching your videos and making your recipes and now…I have a real passion for baking and cooking thanks to you.
I think the best part of cooking and baking is the satisfaction as joy I see on my wife’s and daughter’s face when they try these dishes. Friends and family also love them.
Just wanted to take a moment to say “thank you” so THANK YOU!!
-Joe
Hi Joe! That's so kind. Thank you so much and Happy baking!

Look AMAZING! Can't wait to try. John-would you please show us how to make the perfect homemade caramel apple! I don't want the Kraft Carmel apples, I remember the wonderful homemade Carmel apples, but can't find the old recipe. PLEASE...Pretty PLEASE!!!

Garlic is everything. Lol! I always get bags of it from Costco. Love it!
love this
Easiest shawarma recipe, wanna try it soon 💜
Thankyou sooo much they are so healthy for us oldies! Lolololol
Looking good!!
John, blend 3 to 5 habaneros with the juice of one full orange, add a little granulated garlic, blend it and then fold into mayonnaise, season it to taste, it is always great for wraps, sandwiches, wings, burgers and dips, hope you see this.
Sounds great! I need to try this!
Manuel, this sounds delicious! I would never have thought of using an orange with habaneros 😃
@@shelaghrobertson8286 definately, just pour into the mayo and mix it in short amounts so you get it just right to your liking.
@@manuelfuentesguerra88 hope you see my comment/Question;
With the habaneros is it spicy? And what do you call this sauce? I can handle some spicy…just a kick but my kids and brother love spicy. Thank you for sharing.!
I’ve never tried chicken shawarma and never heard of it till I found this site.
@@tinaknutsen929 Habaneros are amongst the spiciest peppers out there, which is why its best to add little by little and mix it in as you taste it, it doesn't have to be very spicy, you just get the taste, the orange really helps.
I love Chicken Sharwma! Thanks for the upload.
Great Shawarma recipes!
This is so much different from the original recipe, but I sure am gonna try this. Looks good!
