Thanks a lot. I had no idea about the sling conversion feature. Poor instruction; neither in the pack or online. I was wondering what the velcro was for!!!
Thorough review...nice job! Regarding the zipper...Fishpond was smart enough to add that piece to hold on to while you unzip. It gives you some leverage. I just sold the Patagonia version for that reason. It was difficult to open without something else to hold the bag in place while unzipping. I'm most likely will purchase this one. Thanks!!
@@rootedrotor525 thanks for getting back to me! I was just in Ennis 2 weeks ago! Was it the Tackle Shop or Madison River Fishing Company on Main St.? Did you order online? Really trying to track one down on sale and appreciate the help.
Is there an explanation for to back squares on the side the plastic ones want to attach water bottle on side don’t know what their called and want to know of there is a specific clip for that style of accessory ?
I can't say I have noticed it loosening up. I will say that I use a fishpond nomad net and it fits pretty well. Could be that the pack was made to accommodate those nets specifically?
I’m deciding between this hip pack and the thunderhead sling pack. I like the storage sleeve for your net when the packs are on your back, but how functional are the packs when you transition the pack to your front? Must you remove the net?
Yeah unfortunately the net needs to come off. I would recommend a retractor for your net though so it can hang down while fighting a fish. Especially if that fish decides to make another run. I personally like a hip pack over a sling pack. Especially since the sling pack is putting all its weight over your casting shoulder.
the up and down attachment is used on many bags and is commonly referred to as a pigs nose, these days they go horizontal as well as vertical... so not so sure that is the correct name now
The we confluence is a great pack but it’s impossible to find. A lot of the comp guys use the overlook 500 or the overlook 500 zero sweep. I’m going to be the odd ball and get the fishpond cross current. I know a few guys that love theirs.
Agreed. Like anything else it takes time but it is also angler preference. I prefer to have my nippers on my left side, forceps on the other side follow by my tippet spools on my right side but hanging off the one strap. What it comes down to is if the angler likes it or not.
Hi Craig! I usually just throw the camera straight in so I can access it quickly when we are making a video. If I use my chest pack though we have a Seal line hip pack which is another great option for a camera. We want to do a review on this some time in the near future as well.
That pack looks fantastic! I was wondering when a company would come out with a magnetic closure like the William Joseph. The Crosscurrents looks very similar to the WJ Confluence. I'd love to try that one out!
When you buy your fishing licence be sure to tell the clerk that you would like the alternative display button. I believe that there is the same option online. Thanks for watching!

Really glad this video was helpful for you! Hope the new pack works well for you. Tight lines!
Great review. Just got one at 30 % off. Thanks for your detailed review - appreciate it
Glad it was helpful!
where'd you find one at 30off? Thanks!

Great Pack review... Doug.
Keep up the Great Work...
Thanks for the comment Frankie and thanks for watching!
What’ camera do you throw in the pack? Just curious because that is why I want the pack to be able to carry a camera inside it . Thanks !
I use a sony A6000 with a 55-210mm lens. I only carry a few fly box's though that are fairly thin.
Backyard Angling man that’s exactly what I was thinking about throwing into it my 80d I think is a little to big though !!
Cool review, looks like a killer pack for sure!
I have really grown to love hip packs due to the comfort while fishing a full day on the water. This pack did not disappoint! Thanks for watching!
Seems like a great pack! Thanks for sharing!

Have you found that the net sleeve loosens up? Mine is so tight it’s difficult to get my net in and out. Thanks for all the great content!

Thanks for the reply. I’m using a nomad net as well. Hopefully it will slide in and out easier in time. Really enjoy your videos!
Great review
Thank you!

love the review tho any video with only one channel/side audio always is a turn off. Just fyi for future videos!

Interesting... thanks for the information and thanks for watching!
Can this easily hold to fly boxes say 5 ×10 inches?
Thank you for sharing!!
It should hold a box that big, but I'm not sure how many depending on how thick the box is.
Great pack but I prefer a Chest pack. I’m going to try the new one from fish pond and if I like it better than my overlook
Yeah, the new Crosscurrents pack that they make looks very similar to the WJ Confluence which is my favorite pack that I own. Thanks for watching!

I'm sure the Crosscurrents will become more and more popular as time goes on

Do u put your camera in an additional waterproof case inside?

What is the Brand of the watch you're wearing ?
It is a Garmin Vivoactive. Very handy watch.

I'll be getting fishponds new chest pack, the crosscurrent.

It's a shame they don't come in all black
For reason after the intro, no sound.
This thing is ridiculously expensive, or is it just me? $229.
