Calabar used to be the cleanest city in Naija, but Uyo has taken that spot in the past couple of years.
But Calabar is bouncing back gradually.
But one thing with Calabar is the calmness and peace; no stress at all in that city. I love Calabar and Uyo, two of my fave cities in Nigeria

Calabar was the first capital of Nigeria, that is why it has the first of most things. But not the first monorail, portharcourt had one before calabar. Most cities in Nigeria are probably not far off calabar in terms of peace and calm, lagos is the only crazy city in Nigeria.😅If you want to relax in Nigeria, lagos should be the last place to visit.Thank you.

I am glad that your journey is back proceeding well. The major slave traders in Calabar was the Aro Confederacy. The Aro Confederacy was a mixture of about 18 Igbo clans, the Itsekeri, Ibibio, Efik, Abame, M'Baise etc and they practiced Juju. The Aro raided and attacked the Igbo people that lived to their North in what was called the Kingdom of Nri which goes as far North of Onitsha. Most of the Igbos captured were sold by the Aro to the English and they were shipped to places like Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States.
