Thanks! May have just binge watched this entire series (okay I absolutely did). As a native of New Mexico I was so happy our state brought you some needed rejuvenation. I've recently purchased my first motorcycle and your videos are the perfect blend of travel log, informational content and moto-ASMR. I'm gonna do the thing!

I'm 74 and have been traveling on motorcycles for around 50 years. I've crossed the US solo a couple of times, so your trip brought back many similar memories for me. I really like your videography and music selections. On one trip, my theme music was Neil Young's Harvest album. Every time I hear songs from that album, it takes me back to 1972 when I rode from Ithaca, NY, to Berkeley, CA. Keep up the nice work. Nowadays I ride a Can-Am Spyder trike. Keeps me young!!

Huckleberry! My wife and I watched your video over 2 evenings and loved the escape. All my life I dreamed of doing a trip like yours but never did until two years ago when I was almost 69. A motorcycle buddy I haven't seen or heard from for over 40 years threw out a challenge for us to meet in Moab and ride to the BMW rally in Great Falls, MT. I live in the Austin area and he lives in Maryland! What pushed me over the edge "to do the thing" was a meme he sent me that said "the road of life is full of flat squirrels who couldn't make a decision". We had a blast and for me it was the trip of a lifetime. I was engaged at the time, came home, got married and my wife and I rode our bikes to the Barber Museum for our honeymoon. You're right there is never a perfect time, but the right time is NOW!

    Hi Amanda.
    Really very impressive!
    I'm 62 and I've been riding for 30 years.
If I look back at your age, I wouldn't think I could have done what you do, despite my deep passion for motorcycling, no matter the style.
I did several road trips from Quebec to the United States that I loved, but never like you do. So many miles, so much distance covered!
    Well done and respect!
    I encourage you to continue!
    😉

HUCKLEBERRY, and thank you for sharing this with us. What a journey. Your patience and "It's OK" attitude are inspiring. I bought a 2017 500X last year (at the age of 70) and was interested in how the bike would do on a trip like that. So many people think that you need a big bike to travel like this and you proved them wrong. Traveling vicariously with you makes me anxious for spring so I can "get out and do the thing".

Oh the 500x is more than capable. Of course a bigger bike is a tad more comfy on the highway.... but not necessary. Doing this at 70 is awesome, I wish you the best!

Hi, I've only just started watching your travel vlog and saw how upset you were about losing your Stetson. I lost a "special to me" sun visor last year, and put a post on Facebook with a scaled down photo of me wearing the visor. Was thrilled to bits when a guy found it, contacted me via Messenger, and very kindly posted it to me!!! Worth a try ..... wishing you safe and happy travels while I enjoy your vlogs XX

    Huckleberry!
Wow, Amanda (Ninja) I finally sat down last night and watched your whole 3:33:46 video. Knowing about your anxiety and stress, that makes all the more sweet to complete. These things can be paralyzing (for some people) you kept going thanks to family and friend lifelines. Glad your friends found another Stetson for you put miles on and make your own.
Pushing ourselves out of those comfort zones, makes us stronger and better and through those good and not so good challenges we learn much which can then help others. There is a reason for why we go through things in life, even if we do not know the reason at that moment in time.
A belated Happy New Year to you and yours. Wishing you much adventure, travel, fun and health this year on and off two wheels. Take care.

Started watching this video thinking who is this woman trying to be something and ride a bike. But I quickly confronted myself judging for no reason at all, except for my own stupidity. And I continued to watch the video and ended absolutely adoring and respecting you for such a brave, lighthearted, strong woman who doesn’t need to prove anything to anybody. I just admire you so much now. I wouldn’t have the guts to do what you did and how dare I have such ridiculous preconceptions about anybody. You renewed my soul, my attitude and my usually open and loving soul back to me. Thank you so much! I know this ride was filled with every emotion there is, but you endured the fear, terror, fatigue and sad times and conquered it all. Hope there more happy times for you.

I can understand why one might have an anxiety attack on a trip like you are on. I've got to hand it to you, you are a true road warrior. I would never be able to do a cross country trip solo...I would get too lonely. I would need to have someone there to enjoy the adventure with. It's much easier to get through the tough moments with someone to lean on and visa-versa. Congrats on doing it....twice!

Your words at the end really are inspiring for helping push past that nagging thought of whether or not to go for it, or the what-ifs that plague this kind of trip decision. Thanks for the great content and keep at it! Earned a sub for sure here.

AZ, I'm enjoying my daily dose of the long trip. -4 degrees as I watched today which was a nice way to relive spring 2022... it gives hope for spring 2023. And, I've probably not posted this before, but one reason I always enjoy your site is it lacks the profanity that drenches so many other motorcycle YT channels. Your posts are cheery, "Hello Beautiful People" is so preferred to the four-letter words that detract from content. Thank you for what you do!!

Well, I can't believe I watched a video that was over 3 hours long! But, hey... I'm your Huckleberry. But, seriously, it did take me two days of watching 30-45 minutes at a time. Great video. I lived in El Paso for 20 years and have been to Cloudcroft, Spent the night in Alamogordo, and visited White Sands on my Bike. I always wanted to go to the Gila Natl Forrest too and see the Cliff Dwellings, but just never found the time. You are a true Road Warrior. Keep it Up and be Safe out there. This Spring I plan on getting out there, and doing the thing!

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your video. I thought you put it together really well and integrated music. You were so brave to do that trek alone but found fun along the way. I did feel that I was exhausted by all the travel and arrangements along the way that you had to make. I can't believe that tent sites in parks were up to $80 a night with not much amenities. It was great fun to see you dance around your motorcycle and to take it in stride when you did drop your bike. I don't think I can travel 300-500 miles a day every day to make this trip. You managed it well but to me it felt like it was so hard to do all the miles. Anyway, now you are a part of the Motorcycle Camping family. Brava. Great job.

Hi Amanda, You are really something! In 1999 I did something similar, a friend of mine had a Harley stored in Houston, Texas and he offered me to borrow his bike! We both lives(d) in Norway at that time. this was back in 1999. I drove from Houston, up to Wisconsin, and then to Yellowstone and further to Portland, Oregon. Then California, Nevada, Arizona and back to Houston. I visited 17 states and was using about 8 weeks on my trip. Thinking back, I don't understand how I dared to do this, since I did not have a cell phone or GPS.What you are doing is very impressiv!I wish you all the best and hope you understand my English. Next is my Honda 300L, I use this bike for single track and tight trails. Finally is my KTM Enduro R, I have done a ton of work to this bike. I have supermoto tires for it and my firt tires for it. All my bikes have a unique purpose. I owned a motocross track for many years and have owned and road every bike practically since the mid 80s. At 55 years of age. I ride alot.... I just came across your website & after watching it for 20 or so minutes, I realize how much I want to go on the road on my 1985 Honda Goldwing & the awsome trailer to carry all of the essentials. I admit to being an OVER PACKER, but I try to include those things that provide a means of solving the unexpected. But it's nice when that little something either saved the day or just made the night under the moon just a little bit better! Ok at this time I don't know any others who would be interested in planing a road trip to where ever let me know & maybe we can plan a trip.

I used to live in Merced. I was born there and stayed until I turned 6. The last time I was there was 2 years ago. Before that, almost 20 years since my family and I left. The place has changed a lot. Way more people and way more crowded. I'm planning to make a trip back with my ninja one day. Before that, a lot of practice.
Thanks for the motivation. You're one of a kind. Sorry about the hat.

Shadetree sent me. I subscribed to your channel also. Huckleberry, this was an awesome trip. Really just makes me want to ride off into the unknown parts of America. I don't think my sportbike would want to though 🤣. I know it's an old video but you're a great story teller and watching/ listening to this video was easy. Safe travels on your next adventure 🤘🤠

Wow Amanda, I started watching this video this morning and could not get up! I feel like I've made the journey with you. Your choice of bike was spot on, most riders wouldn't even entertain the thought of taking such a trip on a glorified 500cc dirt bike! :P You have inspired me to get off my butt and take that ride I've dreamed about since I was a young teen. I finally snagged my dream bike two years ago, a 2014 Indian Chief Vintage,. That Honda seemed to run like a top, on the dirt as well as the interstate. And was WAY lighter than the big v-twins although I must say I was feelin for you handling all that top heavy gear and bike like a champ! Thank You Amanda for these videos and the kind wisdom you shared at the end! You've inspired me, and that ain't easy at my age. Your giggle and that dance made me laugh, your a natural in front of the camera! You have a gift, a natural positive energy that came right through this video! (Video comments>>-->)Smart girl, glad you decided to stay two nights in Temple. You need the rest and so does that tire! Light is indeed amazing, I've always been fascinated with light.

Just discovered your channel and binge watched your trip in two days. Amazing adventure. I'm waiting for the delivery of my 2023 cb500x and even though I don't have time right now for any epic rides, you have inspired me to plan a few camping trips this summer with her. Cheers from newfoundland canada.

This is Discovery Channel material! It's 3 a.m. and I'm up planning my own road trip. A short one for the first time, maybe a days ride there and back at first, and then a longer one. I'm glad you enjoyed our beignets and crawfish....

Huckleberry! Great trip and enjoyed your long trip with you! ❤ Hubby and I were Harley enthusiast in the ‘90’s and had 2 Harleys…one with a sidecar so our daughter could come riding with us! We belonged to several Harley groups…had nice rides and even a sidecar group. Fun days. Missed that wind in my face!

Wow what an adventure 💙💙💙 I’ve got about 170,000 miles under my belt but I’ve never been across the US the farthest I’ve been was from California to Oklahoma and back I did that in a total of about 5 days round trip, two days there and 3 days back I had work training in Oklahoma so there was a little rest in Oklahoma I’m between heading back. Keep having safe travels and keep the shiny side up 😄

HUCKLEBERRY Hi Amanda, just found your channel. I have just watched your video over the past 3 days. I have loved every minute of it, I don't ride anymore due to health issues, except if a friend offers me a ride on their bike then it's only a short trip. I do miss riding. So I will content myself with watching you and others on YT like you who make these epic journeys on their bikes. Thank you for sharing the good bits, but also the times when you were down, I have had my share of mental health issues and know as you do there is no fun in it at all. Sending my love, my heartfelt thanks and my very best wishes to you. Norm in Yorkshire, England UK
