    Tips if you don't have some materials:
    Don't have the paper she use? Use some normal paper, it will have the same effect
    Not having her tape? Use paper tape
    Not having copy paper? You can put a piece of normal paper, redraw, turn and with a fork point follow the lines and it will get automatically redrawn
    Use your creativity if you need more tips!
    Have a nice day and i hope i helped you

    Another tip : you can mix gypsum and glue, make a chateau paste and slather on the mask after putting on 1 or 2 layer of paper mache. This would even out the lines and grids more. And add 1 or 2 more paper mache layers. And sand with sand paper.

  • @AnEmu404

    Currently using this tutorial for my hollow knight cosplay! Super helpful, the paper mache method has worked really well so far, and replacing the ears with horns works great! The masking tape tip is genius.
    I actually used some firmer cardboard which led to it not lying as flat, but im sure i can sand it down later.

    I love this, thanks for the detailed tutorial!
    Question though: Don't you have problems breathing with the mask on, since the air would only stream in and out through the eye holes? It might be better to create the snout using cardboard stripes only that are bent outwards, so that you can cut a hole below the upper fox lip just like you do with the eyes. :3

      Hey there! Thank you for your comment and that great idea ^^
      Thats a great point, but for my mask at least, the mask wasnt flush against my face when I put it on and the sides of my face still had some space for air to come and go. But that idea is also great, thanks for the tip! ^^

    Alternatives❗❗❗❗
    (I have tried all of this myself so don't worry and yes it turned out great)
    1) Cereal Box: So it's not like every family eats cereals and all the other boxes that were close it have been thrown away. Don't worry you can just use regular CARDBOARD. Yes, regular cardboard works just fine it kind of bends at spots but you can easily fix it.
    2) Face size: My face didn't fit with just two pieces of cardboard maybe because it was smaller it length or something but don't be shy and cut a third length cut a little off that piece and stick it with the other two pieces.
    3) Glue: No you don't need hot glue. Hot glue sticks better yes but you don't particularly need it in general. Also for the paper mache I don't know if the glue I am using is given in the video but any glue works. I am using my regular old Fevicol.
    4)Tape: There is unfortunately no alternative for the tape because regular tape will not allow the glue to work. You have to find a kind of tape that feels like paperish because then the glue can stick.
    5) Paper: Yes regular paper works just fine. It is as strong and as nice as the paper in the video. I am just using your regular A4 size paper you can find at any stationary store.
    6) Ribbon: As said in the video you can also use a ribbon for it. I am planning on wearing it so yes I will be doing it but haven't yet done it. I will update you after I add it whether or not it was worth it and it looks ok. But one tip I thought of is if you add ribbon that you can wear it with a small black clip. I will update you if it goes well. Happy making!!

    Thank u so much for helping me with my project in Mapeh, in new year I remembered that we have a project in Mapeh about making masks, everyone is just a carnival paper masks but I want to make a crazier and wear carnival mask and I was just looking for masks in yt all of them are kinda boring and found yours I was scared and thought my teacher won't allow this kind of mask and had an idea that Im going to make the first step of this vid and so I watched the first step but through out the process It felt so fun so I asked my teacher to let me make a KISTUNE MASK and she said yes I was so happy and when I'm done the first step.....the second step is the challenging part and it took me 3+ days (I never use the sand paper bc it'll rip the news print and I'm allergic dust) and the 3rd step is my fav stem I had so much fun ,I did the 2nd step (bc the back wasn't done yet on that day) and the 3rd step in the middle of the night really wanted to have some rest but I remembered that tomorrow (on that day) is the day where we have to pass our mask so I kept working...I don't know how to make braids so I asked my mum to braid the string (I didn't use the string used in the vid bc it's not available in our town but saw a string called Japanese string) the braid is really small I want my mum to make an even more bigger braid but it's midnight so nvm..... and we're done! ,I passed my mask and my teachers and classmates are suprised and everyone said "is it made from cement?" "Is it made from wood?" Which I don't get lmao, Thank you so much @Pretty Much Paradise for helping me with my project have a nice day and stay safe😄

      If you mean to wear your glasses under the mask, I guess when making the base, you should also have your glasses on so that there will be enough space for them on the end product. I dont think the mask will look much difference, unless you wear big glasses perhaps. Hope this helps ^^

    Another thing you can do for the cord, you can braid three extremely long pieces of the cord, then cut it in half to have two chords of equal length

    I loved this tutorial, i watched it today and i am planning to make the mask today only.. And i am planning to make it's jaw design similar to the design that you can see on the jaw of sukuna from jujutsu kaisen, but a little bold.. and then add a strip of led strips on it's online, and keep it's switch inside the mask, so you can bite the button/switch to turn on the lights

    This is why I love youtube....I am going to use this with a different set of materials. ..substitute the cardboard foundation with plastic sheets they use with yarn...but I will go with somewhat more of a masked helmet after the paper machine I will add baking soda and superglue for strength. ...and a head of hair.

    I'm gonna make a bunny mask for my oc to wear to a renn faire. So excited! I think instead of just using cardboard think I'm gonna used wire to re-enforce the ears bc they'll be longer and more fragile

    Can you please make kaonashi mask next?

    • @PrettyMuchParadise
      @PrettyMuchParadise  2 роки тому

      Thank you! I probably won't be making that, but you can simply follow the same instructions here for making the base (without the ears and snout), paper mache it and cut out the eyes as instructed, and paint it to look like kaonashi at the end. Hope this helps ^^

      @@PrettyMuchParadise Hey can this work with a glue stick?

    • @PrettyMuchParadise
      @PrettyMuchParadise  11 місяців тому

      I suppose you're refering to using it in place of hot glue. I haven't tried it myself but if it's strong enough to keep your pieces together, sure, you can go for it!
