Three hours to figure out why the dirt collects on the top of the filter and not under the filter and inside the blower...? Wow! Good thing this wasn't some sort of IQ test. 😊🤣
@@DrivenCompanion Thank you, very kind to say. I saved your video so I can reference it in the future. As I grow older, I get more forgetful. :) Take care.
Thanks for the info, dealership cost is 24.95 for filter, 68.90 for labor. Also, something called BIO-ZONE ANIT-MICROBE for 28.44 which I assume is something for 'cleaning ventilation'. Do you know what this involves? I'm guessing blowing some air thru it with some sort of antibacterial additive?
Hi. Can you show how to do a cabin air filter replacement on the Audi Q5? Mine was replaced recently at dealer for over $100... reason? ... the previous owner had placed a scented air freshener in the cabin that annoyed my allergies. The replacement has helped a lot but next time I would like to DIY. Also the engine filter for Q5.
In my original cabin filter when I just took it out the arrow was up with debris of dirt and some small leaves was on top when I took it out . So I put the filter back in with arrow up again but I guess the arrow should be down?
It depends, does the arrow say 'this side up' or 'air flow'? If it's 'air flow', it should be down. I don't know why they used 2 different label arrows, it is confusing.
It depends on the brand. All cabin air filters that are mounted horizontally have air flow direction that is downward. Air flow arrows point down. IF IT says says UP on the filter then obviously it's not telling you the air flow direction, it's telling you which side goes up.
Didn't expect it to be so simple - *thank you!*
Just spent 3+ hours looking for the direction of air flow. Thank you!

Short and helpful video. Thx for confirming the direction of air flow.
Thanks that was so easy, mine was packed with leaves and dirt lol. My windows were fogging up this winter so I figured it was pretty plugged
Just paid $65 at dealership for air cabin and the other one. Now I know. Thanks, next time I"m saving myself the $$$ and doing it myself.
Awesome! I had way more leaves then you but you made this easy. Thanks!
Nice video. Thanks. Now I know how to change mine.
I take a Sharpie Pen and write the date and mileage on the edge of a new filter. This helps me know when to replace in the future.
good call!

I would imagine there are already a number of videos covering that.
Filter arrow should point up
My dealer told me I needed that replaced and quoted 70 dollars. 14 from amazon prime and shipped next day delivery 📦
Nice! I hate that dealers would steal money from people like that.
Can you please tell me how much was it at Walmart?

Dave D. It says this side up this direction? Thoughts?
@@XBrandonLeeX765 'This side up' should be up, away from the blower.
Dave D. Roger that, that’s the way I have it installed.
Depend does it say air flow or up next to the arrow on the filter? Different brands are not the same.
How often should cabin air filter be replaced?
I'd do it about once a year... depends on where you live and how much you're driving though
Paid like $40 for a charcoal + baking soda one. Previous truck owner was a heavy smoker
Well guess I put my cabin filter in facing the wrong direction
Well the dealer put it in with the arrow pointing up and it works fine that way. Keeps pine needles out of the air fan.
Douglass, the dealer did it incorrectly then.
