i got a 2014 one a year ago with about 45,000 miles on it. I e out about 50,000 miles on it so far with no issues. I really love the look of it. People at the gas station often ask about it or tell me how much they like the looks of it. It’s fun to drive too. Definitely the coolest out of the small vans
You do great reviews! You cover a lot of info, talk fast and are to the point and articulate. I wish more people would take note. Time is precious and most people waste a lot of time with useless babble in their videos. Thank you!
It turns so beautifully, and I have the shorter van with windows all around. Mine is not tippy at all, it feels solid, however we had a trip through the mountains a couple years back and had really high winds, and we for sure felt the wind moving the van a bit. The passenger seat and back seat are quite hard and need some padding for passenger comfort. This is my family vehicle and when I first bought it got lots of comments but they are getting more common. Color choices are limited, mine is white. I had taken a red one out for a test but didn't want to be confused with an emergency vehicle. There is a dark blue one and a sort of grayish one. I love my trans connect and some day I will trade for a new one.
Outstanding review Sofyan. I can easily tell that Ford nailed things precisely well with this new version of the Transit Connect as it's a dramatic improvement in a boatload of areas over the previous version, such as the pairing of the 2.5 L 4-Cylinder Engine with the 6 speed automatic transmission :) - Michael Land
I have one. Mine is a 2014 XLT van. Got about 116,000 miles on it and nothing major except a compressor @10000 miles ago. I get about 23 mpg in the city and @25 mpg highway as I tend to push the speed limit HARD. I feel as though its rather peppy for what it is. Quite often many will pull behind the other guy at a light and I'll either take off quick or sandbag for the first 1/2 mile then ZOOM off!! Good vehicle
Thanks for doing this review. I already ordered a Transit Connect and will have to wait as much as 6 months to get it. This video will help me to plan to configure the van for my bicycle repair work. The companies that make the racks, shelving and tool boxes to go in this are not ready yet. I wish it had one of the diesel engines available from Ford Europe. I thought I was going to miss the taller roof of the older Connect, but this is about the same height as the old Econoline.
@@luperamos7307 The van has been perfect. It has given no trouble at all. The bike shop is now closed and I have unbolted the tool box out of the back and the van is now a grocery getter and carries my own bicycles. The only things I don't like is the outside rear view mirrors are too small. Ford should never sell the van without windows with the regular mirrors. Also, the plastic cover on the outside edge of the driver and passenger seats has broken. Other than that. It has been a great van.
@@chrisdaigle5410 Thanks for responding. I bought the 2014 model of this car used and I heard it's very similar to a Ford Focus. Some people said that the engine is not strong for the size and that the transmission could fail. I don't know how many miles you have on it so far. But I really like the car otherwise and would still want it to last me a long time. I am just not sure how dependable they are. I might look into a transmission fluid flush. I have 70k miles on the vehicle now.
@@luperamos7307 I have about 70,000 miles too. I have pulled trailers with mine and it has been happy the whole time. It's not a hot rod, but the engine is adequate.
My workplace recently bought an XLT LWB Transit Connect Wagon to use as their shuttle van and I can say that it is a great vehicle. I have gotten multiple complements from customers that say it's nice or wonder what it is. It has leather seating for 7 and the window sticker (which they keep in the glovebox), says it cost only $29,580, which is a pretty good deal for what it is.
I was looking at used T/C, but went with a 2013 Ram C/V, as the Transit Connect didn't seem to have much ground clearance, an item to consider if you live in snowy areas.
this car looks neat. i like it. imo ford should expand the options avaliable for the transit connect. its efficient and offers good space good cargo space. perfect car for someone who might have to haul cargo around often yet at the same time wants a practical daily driver. my neighbor has a nissan nv200 and i have to look at it every day. wish he got one of these.
So much nicer than my uncle's old white cargo van. Low profile makes it easy to load. Get in and out. Since I am not a vampire I would prefer more windows.
Great vehicle and review. One thing that caught my attention was that this weighs as mush as a BMW M235i. not that im taking a shot at either, in fact i am interested in both but the fact that the bmw weighs as mush as a cargo van is surprising.
I think with the options available on the new Transit Connect (short or long wheelbases and two I4 engines, plus two, five, or seven seats), owners of full-sized cargo vans who don't need all the space their vans offer will give up their full-sized cargo vans to get the smaller and more economical Transit Connect Van, and families who want a fuel-sipping seven-passenger vehicle will opt for the Transit Connect Wagon.
These commercial vehicle reviews never test with the van loaded with gear. My vans never roll empty. Always have tools and equipment in them to make $.
It's cool that I drive the older model because I realize the complaints I had have been addressed with this redesign! Such as, when you have wheel chairs and you need to keep them from moving, the old version doesn't have those hook points at the front near the seats! Also, the new engine of course!
pretty much at work everyday lol, the truck only offers space for cargo in the trim level I have. Ford dealerships are beginning to have Transits available with rear passenger seating, so definitely go check that out!
Thinking about one of these in extended form to build my own camper Van to live in after I retire next month. Trade my 4x4 Tacoma in and almost pay for the basic Van.
According to Tall Life the Ford Transit passenger wagon is the absolute best car for a tall driver. The net height from floor to top of windshield is the clincher.
The only problem with being more than 6 foot in the Transit Connect is the lips above the center screen and dash stick out enough to block seeing the edge.
Wish we got the manual transmission and the diesel as the euro version gets over 40mpg in that configuration.. gas prices right now would have welcomed that..
Golden Retriever The opposite actually, its a van with seats and glass added in the passenger variants Ford imports them with seats and glass to get around the chicken tax but the basic design is intended for cargo.
Might sound like a crazy question, but can I remove the front passenger seat in this vehicle? Just like the rear seats, I am guessing there would just be some bolts I undo and pull the seat out. Thanks!
Not bad if you're in a camp site or an RV park. You're driving around your bedroom. If you want to modify it into a camper, you have to find equipment that will fit.
I understand that the 4-cylinder is better for fuel economy but a V6 would deliver better power figures and I feel like for a “wagon,” as Ford calls it, that could carry up to 7 people a 6-cyl would be much better. Many European diesels are not compliant with US emissions regulations.
